Psuedo Folders

I use four scenes to contain every Insteon device we have installed. None of these scenes have a Controller other than the ISY. This is similar to creating Folders.

Indoor Lights contains most of our indoor lights.

Outdoor Lights contains all the outside lights and the remaining indoor lights.

Trains has all the man cave lights as well as all the Insteon controlled lights for my models.

Xmas Lights contains all our holiday lights.

This makes it much easier to view the status of our devices compared to My Lights. We don’t have to scroll through a list and we are not tied into prefacing device names with acronyms.

When creating a new scene it is easier to go to one of these scenes to select the devices than having to scroll though My Lights.

This is a great idea. The bummer is it does chew up links.

Oh No! As far as I know every new scene uses one node. In my example with four scenes that is only adding four nodes to the ISY. The ISY should already know all the responders. Each responder would have one scene added. Not that many links.

Unless I am so wrong.

This works great through the browser. But, if you are using the Media Center interface so your Windows Media Center and extenders can control your lighting, your scenes do not show the devices.
