intellihome Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Has anybody seen T-Stat communication problems when Dual Band lamp links were added to system? I have a very reliable isy / insteon setup. My venstar tstat has always worked perfect with the existing access points. I needed some more lamp lincs so I went with the dual bands (figured I'd increase my wireless range while I was at it). With the lamp lincs plugged in I lose communication to my T-stat. When I unplug the DB lamplincs, the tstat starts communicating again.
justin.cool Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Intellihome, I have three 1700 Venstar Thermostats, and at least 3 or 4 Dual Band lamplinc's, and have NOT detected / noticed any issues between the two. Just yesterday I received the replacement/upgraded thermostat adapters from Insteon but have not installed them yet. I will be doing that later this week. I am a bit surprised as I have seen LOTS of other communication issues and have resolved them all except ONE. The resolved issues include: power strips with surge protection noisy iHome radio power supplies, phone chargers, CFL's, computers, etc etc sporadic humidity reporting by the Venstar Bad v.35 switchlinc's (may have been v.34 or something else, but in any case, problem well documented in this forum and Smarthome replaced all units free of charge) Loose 120v wiring etc etc I am interested in seeing how you resolve this problem, please post it when you find out! justin.cool
