Question regarding sunset vs a fixed time

Featured Replies

Posted

I want to turn off my outside lights about 9 pm.

If From Sunset

To 9:00 pm

Then Front deck lights on

Else: NADA

However, I am far enough north that when I get close to the summer solstice, Sunset might not be until 9:40 pm. I suspect that the ISY will turn on the front deck lights at Sunset but not sure. Any ideas as to what will happen?

What if you do 2 events? 1st event turns the lights on at sunset. 2nd event turns the lights off if the time is 9PM OR 10PM. (Of course when sunset is at 8:59 the lights will be on for a very short time... but maybe that is what you want?)

In your example, when sunset comes after 9:00PM the ISY will not turn on the lights.

In general, a time range will never turn something on/off if the From date/time is greater than the To date/time.

 Thanks Chris: That is good to know and simplifies the coding.
