jsp Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 I was playing with a new scene I have setup in my bathroom and was trying to see if the status updated on my virtual 3-way. The scene is controlled by a KPL button, I did not include the non-load 3-way switch so it did not update. I turned the scene on and off a few times and the 3-way on and off a few times then 15 seconds later the light opened by itself. I believe I read somewhere that the ISY is always a controller on any scenes created on it. Would that behavior occur because the ISY isn't getting confirmation of the light turned on and replaying the command a few seconds later ?
Michel Kohanim Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Hello jsp, No, ISY would not turn things on/off on its own. To rule out ISY/programs, please disable all your programs: 1. My Programs 2. Click on If 3. Click on Schedule 4. Uncheck All 5. Save Changes Once this is done, retry your test please and let us know what you find. With kind regards, Michel
jsp Posted August 15, 2011 Author Posted August 15, 2011 Hello, Programs were not the culprit, since I only had one to Turn on and off outside lights based on time. Now, I repeated the problem and reviewing the LOGS on the ISY shows ELK as being responsible ?! At the time I didn't have any lighting info imported into my ELK. Michel Kohanim Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Hello jsp, Yes, you will have to update the option field in ELK lighting configuration otherwise you will see intermittent operation of lights. With kind regards, Michel
jsp Posted August 16, 2011 Author Posted August 16, 2011 But no lighting data was configured on the ELK, but maybe this is the problem. Anyway, I uploaded the ELK Export from ISY this weekend, so I shouldn't see my lights doing this anymore if it was the issue. I will play with the lights tonight and report back with my findings. Just out of curiosity, how did this caused lights to turn on and off like this?
Michel Kohanim Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Hi jsp, There's an option flag in ELK which lets it know what to do with received data (from ISY). Without the option - and in some cases, ELK simply returns it back to ISY as a command and thus you will see lights intermittently turn on/off. With kind regards, Michel
jsp Posted August 17, 2011 Author Posted August 17, 2011 Ok, so when the M1XEP is configured in ISY, the ISY will send lighting status information to the ELK?
Michel Kohanim Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Hi jsp, Yes, precisely so that you can see status on ELK Touchscreen and other clients. With kind regards, Michel
