USY-99I - Feature Questions

I am considering purchasing the USY-99i and I have 2 basic questions about it:

1. Does the USY-99I allow daily "multiple" sets of ON/OFF Times for the same scene ?

2. I have quite a few power outages in my area (during the thunderstorm and windy seasons) and was wondering:

... Does the USY-99I have either a built-in: internal rechargeable battery or capacitor circuit to keep the time of day, current calendar day/date, in case of a power failure ?

.... where power could be out for 1 day or at least 6 hours and then when power returns after the outage is over, the time of day and calendar date would be correct and *not* require my manually reseting of them ?

Yes, for all intents and purposes, unlimited.

It recovers just fine from power outages with accurate time and date. It also will checks an NTP server per your instruction. It also gives you options on how to handle recovering from a power outage regarding execution of programs that may have been missed. In addition, it only draws a few watts (7 seems to ring a bell) so you can put it on a UPS and it could run for days without killing the battery.

apostolakisl,

Sounds great !!! Just what I need for my insteon setup.

..... Just curious does it use the technical technique of an internal rechargeable battery or capacitor discharge circuit, when it recovers from power outages with an accurate time and date ?

I believe I read here a super cap. That holds it for around six hours.

It does go on the net and reset the time. As my six day power loss with Hurricane Irene and the Halloween snow storm three day power loss. Resulted in some restarting actions and then the date and time where correct.

My biggest problem was my router rebooting slower than my ISY99i. So I held the power off the ISY99i and PLM for a few seconds.

You may want to read this thread. Where Illusion used a xpalpower XP2000 for an extended power supply for an ISY99i.

Though it may have been when the PLMs where the 2412S that supplied power to the iSY99i through the interface cable and not the external DC input used with the 2413S PLM.

apostolakisl, Brian H,

Thanks for info. I will be getting a usy-99i soon.

Brian H,

P.S. Below is reassuring, since I also experienced a 6 day outage, due to Hurricane Irene.
