CTBigman Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Scene changes are not being written to devices. I can turn scenes on and off, I have cleared my Java cache. I have an ISY99-IR, not a Pro. When I right click on device in a scene I have tried Write to Device but nothing happens. What am i missing?
LeeG Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 CTBigman Each Controller of a Scene has a unique set of Responder On Level and Ramp Rate values. Click on the Scene name or one of the Controllers listed below the Scene name. All the Responders for that Controller are listed. Set the desired values for each Responder based on the Controller selected. Lee
CTBigman Posted December 17, 2011 Author Posted December 17, 2011 LeeG I can't change any setting in Device list or Scenes, I have about 40 switches and all I can do is turn them on or off from the ISY, its not letting me edit the existing scenes, i can't change Ramp Rates or Levels.?????????????
LeeG Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 How was the Scene created? Are the Scenes listed at the bottom of the My Lighting tree?
CTBigman Posted December 18, 2011 Author Posted December 18, 2011 Yes, at the bottom of the tree, make a scene, drag n drop. has worked perfectly until tonight. I am an electrical contractor, took steve lee's class, have 4 large installs plus numerous small jobs, we are also having this same problem intermittently on another job with over 100 devices. I am using windows xp on my laptop, the job laptop is win7
LeeG Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 What is the ISY firmware level? What is the Java level? When the Scene name is selected the responders with their sliders for On Level and Ramp Rate are displayed, yes no?. The sliders do or do not move? If the slider moves is there a progress bar? Are there green Icons to the left of any of the nodes indicating writes pending?
Michel Kohanim Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 Hello CTBigman, LeeG is right on with his line of questions and reasoning. If you still have problems please do not hesitate to contact our tech support team so that we can help you more efficiently. It would be best to schedule a call so that you don't have to wait in our queue. About the intermittent issue in your other job, please do give us more details so that we can check against the list of possible causes (such as PLM). LeeG, thanks as always for all your help and support. With kind regards, Michel

CTBigman Posted December 18, 2011 Author Posted December 18, 2011 Turned off internet access......nada Tried reset button to reboot......nada Tried power cycle......nada
LeeG Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 The movement of the Slider is Java itself, not the actual Admin Console application. When the movement stops Java should alert the application that the Slider position was changed. At that point the Admin Console immediately writes the change to the device, thus the Progress Bar. For some reason Java is not indicating a change of Slider position, thus no update is being generated. I have Java Release 6 Update 29 on my XP with SP3. Was a Java update recently applied.
CTBigman Posted December 18, 2011 Author Posted December 18, 2011 I have Java 6 update 30, Im going to delete Java and reinstall, see if that makes a difference
CTBigman Posted December 18, 2011 Author Posted December 18, 2011 Reinstalling Java didn't help will call tech support on Monday
