willieneal Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Must be doing something wrong and need some basic help. Trying to create a scene using the "G" button on two 2 KPLs and a lamp linc to create a scene. I can get only one KPL to control the scene. The other KPL button lights but doesn't control. I am first creating a scene, then adding the 2 KPLs (button G on each) as controllers and a lamplinc as responder. I've tried it a couple of times and can get only one KPL to actually control the scene (first KPL added will control scene and second KPL added lights up but doesn't control scene). I've double checked to make sure both KPLs are added as controllers. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Willieneal
LeeG Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 That is the correct Scene definition. Both KeypadLinc button Gs as Controller and the LampLinc either as a Responder or maybe a Controller. The LampLinc can be turned On/Off manually at the LampLinc and it has load sensing which will turn the LampLinc On when the load is manually turned On. The LampLinc has Controller capability to notify the KeypadLinc buttons if the LampLinc is turned On manually. For that to work the LampLinc should be added as another Controller to the same ISY Scene. How the LampLinc is added will not affect the ability of either KeypadLinc button G to turn on the LampLinc. Were there any errors when the KeypadLincs were added to the ISY Scene? Are there any red ! or green Icons to the left of the KeypadLinc or LampLinc nodes?
willieneal Posted February 15, 2012 Author Posted February 15, 2012 Lee, No errors when making scene or adding KPL buttons. No icons beside scene indicating a problem. I double checked to make sure bith KPLs were added as controllers - they were. Press button on either KPL and light on other KPL comes on. Only one KPL is actually controlling light. I can delete scene and remake, changing which KPL button is added first and it justed changes which KPL controls the scene.
willieneal Posted February 15, 2012 Author Posted February 15, 2012 Duel band lamp lincs With the same two KPLs I have scenes that combine the load from one KPL to a button on the other and those scenes work fine.
LeeG Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 You have defined the Scene correctly. Have the Dual Band LampLincs been confirmed to hear the RF and be on opposite 120V legs?
LeeG Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I cannot attempt to recreate on anything that old. Run Show Device Links Table for the LampLinc. There should be these link records A2 07 aa.bb.cc FF 1F 00 where aa.bb.cc is one KeypadLinc Insteon address A2 07 dd.ee.ff FF 1F 00 where dd.ee.ff is the other KeypadLinc Insteon address In the KeypadLinc that does not turn the LampLinc On there should be E2 07 gg.hh.ii xx xx xx where gg.hh.ii is the Insteon address of the LampLinc
