ingeborgdot Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 In the last 2 weeks my isy99 has stopped working. When I try to go into it a message says not found. I have to unpower it and reset it to get it to work again. Anyone care to take a shot as to what could be causing this? Thanks.
Michel Kohanim Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 Hello ingeborgdot, I am so very sorry to hear. Quick questions: 1. What's your ISY's firmware version? 2. If 3.1.17, do you have Direct TV media share? 3. Do your programs continue to run even though you cannot access ISY? With kind regards, Michel
ingeborgdot Posted March 16, 2012 Author Posted March 16, 2012 I am running 3.1.17 and do have DirectTV media share. How I actually noticed in the first place that I needed to reset it was that my programs did not work. What is going on?
Michel Kohanim Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Hello ingeborgdot, Unfortunately DirecTV media share is causing a denial of service attack on ISY. The problem is that media share searches for media on the network using UPnP. This said, it does NOT ignore devices that are not media servers and keeps bombarding those that it does not understand how to handle. We are looking into disabling UPnP on ISY just because of this but that will have major negative impact on all other ISY clients such as MobiLinc, etc. If possible, please disable Media share from searching the network and see if that improves the situation. With kind regards, Michel
ingeborgdot Posted March 16, 2012 Author Posted March 16, 2012 Okay, but need to remember how to disable it? It has been a while since I worked with the Directv stuff so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Michel Kohanim Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Hello ingeborgdot, Unfortunately we do not know since none of us have DirecTV installed. I am so very sorry. With kind regards, Michel
ingeborgdot Posted March 16, 2012 Author Posted March 16, 2012 It never did do it with the last firmware. Is the new firmware responsible for that?
Michel Kohanim Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Hello ingeborgdot, The new firmware has additional services provided by ISY and published. It's just that now MediaShare bombards ISY more than it used to before simply because ISY has added more services. We will eventually have to disable UPnP. With kind regards, Michel
ingeborgdot Posted March 17, 2012 Author Posted March 17, 2012 By disabling UPnP, what will that affect for me? Thanks.
Michel Kohanim Posted March 17, 2012 Posted March 17, 2012 We will have to disable it in ISY ... we will have to figure out how to make sure other clients such as MobiLinc will continue to work. With kind regards, Michel
ingeborgdot Posted March 19, 2012 Author Posted March 19, 2012 This is killing me. Can I disable UPnP?
Michel Kohanim Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 Hello ingeborgdot, I am so very sorry. Would you please: 1. Let me know if you are using File | Enable Internet Access to enable remote access? 2. Telnet to ISY (using the command prompt, you can do telnet isy), login, and then type DON 3. Let the unit run till it crashes and then send me the Error Log to support@universal-devices.com As I mentioned before, disabling UPnP will break all clients including MobiLinc. With kind regards, Michel
ingeborgdot Posted March 20, 2012 Author Posted March 20, 2012 Enable internet access is disabled. When I do cmd prompt it says not recognized.
Michel Kohanim Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Hello ingeborgdot, Please send a couple of available times you have from 9:00 AM till 4:00 PM PDT for the next couple of day to support@universal-devices.com. We'll log in to your computer and set it up for you. With kind regards, Michel
