blueman2 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 All of my switchlinc relay timers are showing 15 minutes in the options now. Can you also confirm that the timer function is working on the switch itself? In other words, press the on paddle once. The switch should go on for 15 minutes then shut down. Quote

Please also state the method you're using to reset the insteon device for us all. I have used the stated hard reset method to no avail. Teken . . . Quote
blueman2 Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 OK, things are getting more weird. I ended up using one of the broken SLT's on my kitchen lights as a regular switchlinc. Been working fine for 4 days. Tonight, my lights turned themselves off. I turned them back on, and about 15 minutes later they went off again. It really started freaking my wife out! I looked at my log, and saw that 3 times over the past 4 days, my SLT turned itself off after EXACTLY 15 minutes. All the other times, it stayed on for hours. So now my switch is actually randomly acting as a SLT, but mostly still acting as a regular switchlinc. To solve this, I have turned off the timer check box in options. I hope this keeps it acting as a dumb switchlinc. My wife is threatening to pull the plug on HAL!!! Quote
Teken Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I wish I could say I had the same experience. The four SLT simply stopped working and no amount of hard reseting along with restore device does anything to them. Teken . . . Quote
Illusion Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Adding my IR RX after deleting it and factory resetting it due to previously mentioned issue. Ready/Busy Flag flashes to Busy and a Progress bar pops up when adding a node/code. Immediately goes back to Ready and pop up progress bars disappears even though it is not done writing to device and write flag on device does show still writing. Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 Hi blueman2, boy, are you certain you don't want to return these devices? Hi Illusion, we shall check into it. Thanks so very much for reporting. With kind regards, Michel Quote
blueman2 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Hi blueman2, boy, are you certain you don't want to return these devices? LOL! Well, I am OK just keeping them as regular switchlincs. The check box that disables timer function seems to be working, as the switches are operating like a normal switchlinc. If they act up any more, I will just return them. I think it is pretty clear why they discontinued these switches!! Quote
rlebel Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Hi, I'm afraid I have not been keeping up with the betas recently, but since I'm getting some new devices online I thought I'd get the i2cs capability going. However, I am wondering exactly what this note "You might have to remove devices and then add them back to ISY" means. Is that only to active i2cs devices? And is it safe to assume that devices I purchased before March 2012 don't have i2cs? Quote
LeeG Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 A purchase before March is probably not I2CS. However, the only reason March is being used is Smarthome posted about devices purchased after March 2012. That is not an absolute about earlier purchases. 3.2.5 (RC) was just released so that is what should be installed. It could become the next Official release (RC). If an I2CS device was installed pre 3.2.x it has to be Delete and added under 3.2.5. There are also some issues (non I2CS) with the value the ISY is maintaining for device Engine (is it I1, I2, I2cs). Some cases were solved by issuing the new Diagnostic | Query Insteon Engine function without Deleting and adding the device. A few cases required deleting and adding the device. The symptoms have to do with setting device configuration, Local On Level, KeypadLinc button relationships, etc. Quote

Sorry for the delay, I originally read this on my phone and didn't want to reply from there and forgot to reply when I was back to a real computer... I can confirm that the timer function on the switch itself is *not* working... but I have not yet tried factory resetting the device and then re-adding it from scratch... I only factory reset and then used the restore device option in the admin console. As for the factory reset, I used the method in the wiki here: http://wiki.smarthome.com/index.php?tit ... t_Settings Quote
