BalloonPilot Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 I'm new to this whol ISY/Insteon environment but finally got things up and running! I've got eKeypad setup on both an iPhone and iPad2. After opening up my firewall to allow access to my ISY using an https port (not 443) I was able to see my devices/scenes and setup favorites within eKeypad. Trouble I'm having is that communication seems to be only one way... eKeypad is able to display the icon in blue showing me that a light is on, if I press the icon (to turn the light off) the light does not go off but the icon turns from blue to gray. Refreshing the screen (going to a different favorite and back again) and the icon is blue again. Actual light (or any other device does not change). If I manually turn a light on or off - This change shows up in eKeypad. If I access my ISY via a web browser (Safari on the iPad2) - I make the https connection to my IP:port, login and see my devices. Devcices/scenes are shown in their current state. If I use this web interface to turn a light off, I see the appropriage change on the iPad2 web interface and the physical light goes on (or off). I also see the icon change within the eKeypad on my iPhone as I make changes via the web on my iPad2. The above happens wether Im using the iPhone or iPad2 - Web access (using Safari via HTTPS) works fine. eKeypad access only shows status and does not permit controlling the actual device What am I missing ?
BalloonPilot Posted April 27, 2012 Author Posted April 27, 2012 Update - Its Fixed.... There are currnetly 3 SSL (HTTPS) Key lengths 512, 1024, and 2048 available on the ISY. The longer the key, the more time required for the initial authentication. I was setup to use the 2048 key and this worked with my Safari web browser, but the eKeypad timedout Working late with Jayson (eKeypad) and UD Engineers it was deterimined that eKeyapd had made a change - reduced the 'timeout' which was not allowing enough time for the 2048 key to be exchanged (up to 30 seconds). The combination of ISY Version 3.2.24 and eKeypad 2.6.12 works fine using a 1024 key length. I'm told the next release of eKeypad will have the timeout set longer to allow for those who want to use 2048 key length. Thanks very much to Jayson and the UDI folks for working late lastnight and assiting with troublshooting! Cheers
