ISY99i very slow to respond

Any ideas how to troubleshoot very slow response from the ISY99i web page and admin, and slow logins from external apps? Network speed is fast but this system isn't?

For such issues, I can only make educated guesses, but here goes...

 

I assume that total network (router) communication speed is theoretically limted by bandwidth. I conclude from this that having a lot of devices on a router could slow response from/to any particular device. My first instinct to troubleshoot response times would be to temporarily disable any device (wired or wireless) connected to your router. If this helps, this tends to suggest a cause. If this does not help, this tends to eliminate a potential cause. If you have the option, it may also be worth temporarily taking the "normal" computer off the network and try accessing the ISY from a laptop or different computer. I assume that the computer, itself, could be consuming a lot of router bandwidth and

 

I suppose, also, this could depend on whether you are trying to access from inside your LAN, or external. A couple of other options come to mind. Firewall...are you using one? Could this introduce delays? Are you using windows? If so, perhaps you could open task manager and look at network usage to see if you simply have a lot of communication going on.

 

To repeat myself, however, these are merely suggestions based on a limited (and possibly faulty) understanding of networks.

Also, would you be kind enough to qualify "slow"? How slow is it and are there specific tasks that are slower than others? If so, what are they?
