Keypad control of EZFlora

Featured Replies

Posted

I have installed an EZFlora and I am using the V2 irrigation program from the Wiki. The original writer used the same device's fast on and fast off to facilitate manual control of the program.

I would like to use 2 buttons from a KeypadLinc. I have Button A set for' toggle on' only and button C set for 'toggle off' only. Each button is in its own scene with the addition of the C button 'toggle off' as a controller in the A button scene. This works perfect from the local KeypadLinc but I cannot get these buttons to function via MobiLinc. I would appreciate some insight and possible solutions. Thanks.

What is the KeypadLinc firmware level?

The operation of KPL buttons when pressed locally is different than when driven bya Scene from another Controller (ISY PLM in this case).

Did you select the Scene name and adjust the Responder On Levels when the Scene is used versus when a KeypadLinc button is pressed where the KPL button is the Controller,.

Hi LeeG,

Firmware version v.40. I understand pushing local buttons is different than sending commands from MobiLinc through ISY PLM. On level is set to 100%. Can't wrap my head around how to build scene or how to program MobiLinc or ISY to be able to turn irrigation on and off via MobiLinc using KeypadLink buttons for local control. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

KPL Secondary button A is in non-toggle On mode.

KPL Secondary button C is in non-toggle Off mode.

"Each button is in its own scene"

KPL Secondary button A is a Controller in ISY Scene X

KPL Secondary button C is a Controller in ISY Scene Y

"with the addition of the C button 'toggle off' as a controller in the A button scene"

Based on posted information KPL button C would be a Controller in ISY Scene Y and ISY Scene X. That is not possible as a button can be a Controller in only one Scene.

Please correct the above assumptions about Scenes and what buttons are in what Scenes and as what (Responder or Controller).

Once there is an accurate picture of what is assigned to what as what then how to accomplish the same thing with a PLM driven Scene can be constructed (if it is physically possible).

Sorry LeeG, one error. All is correct except as as you stated, there can only be one controller in each scene. For scene A , Irrigation on, button A is the controller. For scene B, Irrigation Off, button C is the controller and button A is a responder. As stated by membership window: button A is the controller for scene A, irrigation on. Button A is also a responder to scene B, irrigation off, button C, and a responder to scene A, irrigation on.

This works perfectly to start and step through the the eight zones of irrigation. Button A lights and stays lit as I step through the zones. When I press button B the running zone stops and button A light goes out. Thanks again.

I believe when a button is tapped in MobiLinc it actually runs the Scene the button is defined as a Controller of. Tapping KPL button A I would expect Scene A to be turned On since the KPL button is defined as non-toggle On mode. This can be confirmed by running the Event Viewer with Level 3 selected and tapping button A in MobiLinc. The Admin Console does not work the same way. To do the same thing in the Admin Console select Scene A and click On button.

Tapping button C in MobiLinc would be expected to turn Scene B Off since KPL button C is defined as non-toggle Off mode. This would turn both KPL buttons Off. To do the same thing in the Admin Console select Scene B and click the Off button.

I do not know if MobiLinc understands and honors a KPL button non-toggle mode. The Event Viewer trace will show what Scene command (On or Off) MobiLinc is using for each KPL button tap.

Mobilinc runs the scene the button corresponds to so the Scene settings take affect as opposed to the settings assigned to the KPL A Controller. So when you press KPL A button in Mobilinc it doesn't actually use KPL A Button Controller's settings it simply skips to the Scene and Sets it On.

Thanks guys, I understand why I cannot make the system operate the way I had originally tried. I found a solution I can easily live with. To run and stop from remote I wrote two one line 'then' programs which start the appropriate on station timer and the all off program. I have made these favorites in MobiLinc and configured to 'run then' when the program icon is tapped. Seems to work great and simple (it had to be for me to figure it). Thanks to LeeG and all for the assistance.
