"Request failed" errors, but lights respond to commands

A few days ago, I started getting "request failed" errors when I edit devices in a scene. All the lights still respond to commands, and they show the correct status for each light, but I have no idea what's going on or how to go about troubleshooting it.

I seem to get this error for almost every device I try to update. Here's the sample output for when I tried to adjust the on level for one of the devices:

Sun 08/19/2012 09:22:50 PM : [iNST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 14 DD 5F 0F 13 00

Sun 08/19/2012 09:22:50 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 14.DD.5F 0F 13 00 06 LTOFFRR(00)

Sun 08/19/2012 09:22:51 PM : [All ] Writing 0 bytes to devices

Sun 08/19/2012 09:22:51 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 14.DD.5F 1C.FB.F6 2B 13 00 LTOFFRR(00)

Sun 08/19/2012 09:22:51 PM : [standard-Direct Ack][14.DD.5F-->ISY/PLM Group=0] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=2

Sun 08/19/2012 09:22:51 PM : [ 14 DD 5F 1] ST 0

Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot this would be appreciated :)

Yeah, I replaced the PLM a few weeks ago (the old one died, SmartHome sent me a warranty replacement).

I don't recall ever doing a full restore from an ISY backup, but I did do a "Restore Modem (PLM)" like it said on the wiki.

Hello hugo,

Did the Restore Modem go to completion without any errors?

What I recommend is (hopefully have not changed any of your INSTEON device configurations since your backup with the old PLM):

1. Restore your backup

2. Go to File | Restore Modem (PLM)

If you have changed things since the last good backup, then we have to do a full restore and go back to the original state:

1. Restore your backup

2. Go to File | Restore Devices

With kind regards,

Michel

The restore completed without errors, but I'm still getting "Request Failed" errors when I try to edit a scene.

I tried restoring from backup then restoring the PLM first, and when that didn't work I tried restoring from backup then restoring devices.

I'm not sure if this helps, but here's some sample output when I try to change the On Level for a light in a scene:

Hello hugo,

I am so very sorry to hear. This problem usually occurs when the database file for that device was not restored properly. When you go to Tools | Error Log, do you see any errors for the file XXYYZZ.REC where XXYYZZ are the address of your device?

With kind regards,

Michel

The first time I clicked Tools > Error Logs, I got an error message that says:

Could not open file

[/LOG/ERRORA.LOG]

----

Could not open file

[/CONF/DISCLAIM.UDI]

If I try to view the error logs again, I just get a "Request Failed" error, or it just ignores the request and nothing comes up... :(
