andrew77 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Hi guys; I must have had a power failure today (while I was at work) and I think a KPL has burned out. I just wanted to pass it by the forum in case there's a solution before I go ahead and make a Smarthome order. The KPL in question is not lit at all (no LEDS) and of course it doesn't work as a switch. Its a version 1.66 one (probably from my first order years ago) I've never had a KPL or SWL burn out so I',m just checking to see if there's a reboot or anything I can do before I chuck it out and replace it. Drew
LeeG Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Pull the Air Gap switch out for a few minutes. Push it in flush with the KPL frame. Do not push it in past the frame as that could initiate a factory reset. Some of my older KPLs go dark after a power failure. Usually one of very short duration. It will take a few seconds for the LEDs to come on after restoring the Air Gap switch to its normal position.
andrew77 Posted November 5, 2012 Author Posted November 5, 2012 Thank You. Tried it this morning and it worked like a dream.
Brian H Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 I have had short power interruptions confuse a few of my older hardware revisions ApplianceLincs. Power cycle corrects the problem.
aLf Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 The same for my KPL's, the AirGap fix has worked dozens of times and 100% so far. aLf
andrew77 Posted February 28, 2013 Author Posted February 28, 2013 Me again; Another power failure. I need to try to airgap the one KPL. The other one I stupidly pushed in the reset tab after leaving it out for a few seconds (now its factory reset) but when I try to re-add it to the scenes etc… it tells me that its already part of the scene. Do I have to remove all instances of the KPL and start again on it? (or is there a stupidity process I can do to save a lot of reprogramming) Drew
LeeG Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 andrew77 Do a Restore Device on the KeypadLinc that was accidently factory reset.
andrew77 Posted February 28, 2013 Author Posted February 28, 2013 Didn't seem to work. I air gapped the one kpl as well and no luck. Nothing seems to happen on the GUI when I 'restore device' Should I see something working away? (Ps I screwed up both kpls it seems, I need a nap)
LeeG Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 If not requested for the Primary KPL button try the Restore Device for the Primary button. There is a System Busy popup indicating restore progress. For this Admin Console session do all the devices show Current State information.
