Morris Hansen Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 I have add the Brultech ECM-1240 for a couple years now. It is ethernet connected. I upgraded my 99i to the 994 though I did not get Zigbee. I have the module installed on the ISY and when I first did this a few months ago, it seemed to work ok. Lately I have been digging into the ISY more and noticed that 90% of the time, the ISY does not get a response from the Brultech. It tries to connect every 60 seconds and the majority of the time the log shows Read Acknowledge Failed. If I just let it go, once in a great while, the log will show all the channels from the ECM-1240. I am on 3.3.4 on the ISY. Any ideas where to start troubleshooting? Anyone else have this problem?
Michel Kohanim Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Hello mohansen, Does anything change if you reboot any of the following (one at a time): ECM EP1 Router ISY With kind regards, Michel

Michel Kohanim Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Hi mohansen, Are you certain that there are no other devices on the same IP as EP1? With kind regards, Michel
Morris Hansen Posted November 30, 2012 Author Posted November 30, 2012 I am 99% sure. I can ping it with zero drops and watch the arp table and I never see a different mac address associated with this IP address.
Michel Kohanim Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Hi mohansen, Apologies for tardy reply. Is anything else connected to EP1? All those connection failed entries are not normal. Do you also have the WeatherBug module? If so, do you have the same type of network issues with that as well? With kind regards, Michel
Morris Hansen Posted November 30, 2012 Author Posted November 30, 2012 I do not have the weatherbug module. I am not using anything else to connect to this. I will try connecting using the etherx software and see what I can figure out.
Michel Kohanim Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Hello mohansen, I think a very good test would be to use the WeatherBug module as the communications layer is identical to ECM. Please send me your UUID (support@universal-devices.com) and for the purposes of diagnosis, I will activate the WB module for you free of charge. With kind regards, Michel
Morris Hansen Posted December 4, 2012 Author Posted December 4, 2012 I added the weatherbug module. Here is my log after configuring my location. I don't know if it relevant, but I try to leave my event viewer up and running but the ISY seems to log me out after some period of time. I am running on a Mac and my Java version is Version 7 Update 9. I am running the 3.3.4 (RC1) code. Michel Kohanim Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 Hi mohansen, Thank you. As per our email exchange, please do keep us posted with your findings with respect to EP1 not responding to EtherX either. With kind regards, Michel
