I really wanted to use evapotranspiration (ET) with my EZRain sprinkler system. So I purchased a weather station, put it in my backyard and now my ISY is using my station for ET. I bought a Davis Vantage Pro 2 with a 24 hour fan. I just wanted to step it up a notch. The WeatherlinkIP allows you to connect the console to the internet without having your computer running 24/7. I was told I would also need a Meteohub but the guys at Weatherbug Backyard stations have figured out how to upload data without the Meteohub. They will tell you to go here... http://weather.albury.net.au/weatherlink/index.htm Put in some dummy answer to the two blanks and it will go to the next screen. You can enter your info there. He will give you a free 7 day trail. You may want to post questions on the blog since they are there to help and not here. It is only $18/yr. That alone is worth not having a computer running 24/7/365. Hope this helps!

jmed999 Posted December 28, 2012 Author Posted December 28, 2012 Yeah, the ISY will not find backyard stations so you have to type your station ID into the "Location ID" ie. mine is p15937.

Hello George, I'm thinking you are trying to find the ID of a backyard station near you. Not at all intuitive - as you'll see. 1) Navigate to the weatherbug site and enter your ZIP code (if it hasn't picked up the location from your browser). 2) Weatherbug will select a Station near you. It will NOT select a backyard station (which may be closer). 3) Select "Change Weather Station". 4) Weatherbug will bring up a map of local stations. You may need to pan back to find your actual location. Backyard stations are shown in yellow as depicted in the graphic below. I am in the little burg of Granger, which happens to be close to the KD8FW station. 5) Select the backyard station, click "set station", and you'll be returned the the main station page as shown below. The station ID will be similar to the highlighted ID I'm showing in the address bar (p04609 in this case). Enter this into the ISY "location ID" and click save. It should bring up the readings for that station. Be careful in selecting your station. Not all stations provide rainfall, wind speed, etc. Worse yet, not all stations are "maintained". My selection of KD8FW was based on good consistent readings, the fact that he's a HAM (speaks well in my mind). The fact that I've know him since grade school doesn't even enter into the equation. GeorgeRode Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 I have put in a weather station and WeatherLink and now working on linking it to weatherbug. Feel stupid but I'm sure I will find the link. I hade a problem with my Cisco box, had only 10 user and just moved it up to 50 user at my house. It was creating all kinds of strange stuff.
GeorgeRode Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 So I have found the link from WeatherBug, installed it on my WeatherLinkIP and registered with Weatherbug. How long does Weatherbug take to register my new location? Or should I ask if I have dome everything. I don't see my wather station on Weatherbug, have put my p15331 in the WeatherBug setting on location ID. I put someone else P.... id in and it brought me their weather so I think the problem is with WeatherBug.
