I have added my new MS to the lighting scene which contains the kitchen light and the KPL button. Shouldnt the KPL light follow the light when the MS sent the on signal and off when the off signal was sent?

The scene has 2 ICON switches (3-way), KPL Button, a Remotelinc Button, and now a motion sensor. All controllers.

It should but what KPL button is involved?

It is the button I have in the Island scene.it is strictly a controller of the island light.

Yes, the KPL button should come on and off with the motion sensor.

Can you do a screen capture of the Scene definition and post to forum. The image should cover the left part of the Scene definition in the My Lighting tree showing all the nodes in the Scene.

 

Are there any Green Icons to the left of any of the nodes?

It seems to be working now. It looks like it just needed to do the maintenance or query in the middle of the night because it worked the next day.
