kabarry Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 Is there a way to move the Total Energy values that the Brultech system calculates to ISY variables? I am looking to capture the values on the first day of each month and use these to track energy consumption month to month.
Michel Kohanim Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Hello kabarry, I have not seen those values in the APIs. If there are indeed available, then we should have no problems exposing them as events. With kind regards, Michel
kabarry Posted February 15, 2013 Author Posted February 15, 2013 So I figured out how to get the value with a REST command, and how to set a variable also with a REST command. I then tried to use a network resource to put this together. Are there any examples on how one might use network resources to run one command, get the variable, transfer, and then run the set command? Thanks Keith
Michel Kohanim Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Hi Keith, Can you tell me what you are trying to achieve? To set variables in ISY, you do not need Network Resources. To communicate (one way) with a networked device, then you need network resources. So, how are you reading those variables out of Brultech? With kind regards, Michel
kabarry Posted February 15, 2013 Author Posted February 15, 2013 I have a ECM1240 attached to my ISY994 which has a feedback of the KWh value. Each month I would like to copy this value into a variable, that way I can subtract from the previous month and know the usage for this month. The value is in the device tree and is easily accessible, however in the program action commands there doesn't seem to be a way to transfer this value into a variable, at least none that I have discovered. Any ideas?
Michel Kohanim Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 Hi kabarry, Ok, I got it now. Unfortunately you cannot assign states to variables yet but this is definitely high on our priority list. In the meantime, you might want to consider an energy management portal or more rudimentary you can download the logs. With kind regards, Michel
