ISY994

I am not sure if this was my imagination or indeed this is something I read here or else where. But is there a method to send an e-mail to the 994 Series Controller and have it trigger a variable that will in turn send out another e-mail? I know this sounds kind of convoluted and maybe it is. Essentially I would like to know if there is a simple method to send a API call to the controller and then have it react. The use of an e-mail was just a simple example for others to follow.

I have an ISY with a variety of devices attached: censors, lights, switches, garage doors sensors, etc. I use MobiLinc to access the system while remote. I am looking for a solution that will allow me to access a persistent log from my iPhone of all the activities that occur on my system: when a door was opened, when a light was turned on, when did the water fountain turn off, when did the garage door open. Obviously I can get the current state on MobiLinc, I am looking for a solution that allows me access prior activity by date and time. Firmware: v.4.3.26 UI:V.4.4.1 All Insteon switches and controllers, etc I can sit at my computer and turn anything on/off from my ISY and linked stuff works fine but my programs no longer run. I think previously I've used the Diagnostics | Event Viewer successfully to watch stuff work but it doesn't currently seem to see it when I push switches and buttons. For example I can turn living room lights on/off from computer using Admin Console. I can also turn them off using RemoteLinc 2 buttons as programmed some time ago. Hi all - I was all set to dive in with Insteon and ISY-994i (bought the ISY994iZw/IR PRO), but am getting concerned with a few things. The availability of Insteon stuff - very hard to find in stores, but Smartthings, Hue, Nest is everywhere - why? Is Insteon fading in light of all the other new companies introducing their new platforms? Is it too expensive ($50 for a switch, when other platforms offer them for much less)? If it is controllable with Insteon Hub, can i assume I can control it in the same fashion with the ISY controller? Here is my situation: I have a few lights on the ground floor control by a 6-key keypad: I press "On" all the lights come on, I press "Off" all the light go off. Buttons A, B, C, D are unused so far I have a motion sensor within range of above keypad (on the ground floor) I have programmed the lights to come on when the sensor sense motion (usually as I come into the house through the front door) At night, when I am ready to leave the ground floor and go up to the second floor, I hit the "Off" button on the keypad, the ground floor lights turn off, but then the sensor triggers the lights back on before I can head up the stairs and out of range of the sensor I …

I have a 6-button keypadlinc (On, Off, A, B, C, and D buttons). When I linked the keypad to the ISY, it created 5 items (On, A, B, C, and D). I can use those in my programs just fine. If there a way to use the "Off" button in a condition e.g. if Off is pressed, then do something? Thanks.

The Open/Close Sensor under options on ISY-994i allows for selecting different intervals to be set for Heartbeat. Does this determine how often ISY will look at last Heartbeat report, or how often the sensor will actually report? I understand the default report interval is about every 24 hours. Since ISY cannot interrogate battery operated units that are not always "on line", I see no way the report interval can be changed remotely. Right?

My X10 devices work just fine. Still struggling with Insteon. I replaced my PLM, following the replacement procedure. I selected Start Linking... Pressed the button on my Insteon lamp module and it beeped. ISY showed that the device was recognized. So I pressed Add. So this is probably not related to my ISY but I'm a bit confused by this so I thought I'd start here. I have a 994 controlling my home. I just bought a new UPS - an APC2500 - to maintain/protect a few devices. It has the 994, my Asus router, a VoIP router, and my cable modem all plugged into it - so all low current devices. The UPS is plugged in and fully charged. For some reason when I unplug the power to the UPS - simulating power loss - it seems to do what it's supposed to do and everything stays powered up - but the ISY restarts. The cable modem and 2 routers don't even flinch but the ISY reboots. I can't 'see' it reboot - the lights remain lit - but any …

I want to control the brightness of a lamp based on the ambient light level in the rooml. Can anyone suggest a way to do this? A little background. I have a translucent painting that I have back-lit with an LED pannel and diffuser. This LED panel is controlled by a Insteon Ballast Dimmer, and this works great. However, when the room is bright during the day, the backlight needs to be brighter. When the room is darker in the evening, it looks really gaudy when the backlight is on too bright. Hi, Can I use my ISY994 to send telnet commands? I want to get it controlling my Virgin Media TiVo box, which accepts telnet commands. When I setup a top network resource it will give me a channel status, same as what I get when i load it in telnet, however I can't get it to send any commands (see attached screenshots) Cheers, Alex

In order to simplify things I would like to be able to call a scene from a scene. E.g., Scene 1 - on/off button A + lamplink 1 Scene 2 - on/off button B + lamplink 2 Scene 3 - on/off button C + Scene 1 + Scene 2 Is this possible? Jeff

Brand new to the ISY world. I just got the 994i ZW. Plugged it in, connected ethernet to Xfinity modem, connected RJ45 to PowerLinc Modem interface to try an Insteon switch, and fired up the admin console. I enter the user/pass and it recognizes the device but after about one second, the console closes. I've been able to quickly get the IP in the About section, and I can successfully connect to the web interface. However, I can't link any devices because the admin console closes so quickly. The only antivirus I have is Avast, and I have turned it off completely along with Windows Firewall. I am running Win10. Any suggestions?

Hey guys, This may be a very noob stupid question, but is it possible to use the Insteon hub to fulfill the plm requirement for the 994i?

I've been trying to follow the posts on this, but I'm not clear on what I should be expecting. Is home kit expected to be a new module as part of 5.x? Will these modules require deep development skills to implement or will a casual user be able to use these? The two things that I am particularly interested in is Honeywell Total Comfort integration and HomeKit. I'm hoping these both come in 5.x

I am running Homeseer 2 connected to an ISY 994i, which was working fine until about a month ago (I mad no system changes I can recall a month ago). I recently had to replace my PLM (as I have done once before over the past 3 years for my ISY-994i). I follow the proper procedure for powering down the ISY, plugging in the new PLM, waiting around 30 seconds, then powering up the ISY. After logging back into Admin Console, I perform a PLM Restore. The strange thing is that afterward, only a FAST ON or FAST OFF command will turn my Devices or Scenes on or off. The basic ON or OFF commands won't work. I tried again to do a PLM Restore, but it doesn't solve the problem. I also tried rebooting the ISY, and that didn't work either. Has anyone explerienced this same problem? Hello Team, I am still having trouble determining how to programatically detect a Program who's IF logic is TRUE but is not actively Running when it should be. In the attached file screenshot you will see Program "Hall HAL Monitor 1CON" the program is true as indicated by its Color Status, however its WAIT condition is not active therefore the program will never perform the actions after the WAIT should have expired. In other words it is IDLE but TRUE if you look at it in Summary. I need a way to programmatically detect that condition. When that occurs I want to run IF logic so that it becomes ACTIVE and TRUE. I added two Insteon 2672-222 LED bulbs tonight. They are working fine. I then tried to add a 2342-222 Mini-Remote. At the Link Management tab, I chose Add a RemoteLinc 2, then 8 Scene Keypad. I put it in linking mode by depressing the switch. The New Insteon/A10/x10 box came up. I entered the address and a name. The device type was shown as 2342-222 RemoteLinc 2 Keypad, 8 scene. I chose remove existing links. When I clicked OK. Initially the status box showed 2342-222, then changed to unsupported device. After they were added the icon in the menu was a light. When I tried to add the device to a scene, the only choice was as a responder. Any ideas on what …

So.. What is everyone's thoughts on insteon prices. Will they drop? Is it me or are prices going up? With all the competition out there you would think prices would come down. I have a 3-way light setup with 2 switchlinc dimmers. Both of them are set to default on to 50%, and the scene is set to 50% on as well. After I turn on either switch, the lights come on at 50%, and both switches show the light half way up, as expected. If I hit on again, the switch that is controlling the load will go to 100%, and the lights will go to 100%, but the other switch stays at 50%. If I hit the switch that is NOT controlling the load again after turning the scene on, the switch that is controlling the load stays at 50% and the lights stay at 50%, but the switch I pressed again goes to 100%.
