Hello, I have two RemoteLinc devices and they behave differently. My ISY994i keeps losing its connection DeviceB. Both were Linked at one time. I have both devices on the desk beside me and a dual-band light module plugged that is 6ft away. As a newcomer to ISY and Insteon, I am not sure of the correct procedure to re-connect to my device. I have tried WriteUpdates (fails), RestoreDevice (no response). Delete and Re-link (works, then I get back to this red exclamation mark state). And the odd thing (to be at least) is that it works. It does control the scenes where I have added it. Or, do I just have a bad device? How to tell? They are both new. …

I have a question about the HTML interface. I've included a couple of screen shots. On the Devices page, ON or OFF is displayed immediately to the right of the device name. On the Scenes page, there is no ON/OFF indication. Is this normal? If I activate a scene, I can go to the device page and see that the associated devices have in fact been triggered, but unless I am missing something, it seems odd that you should have to do that.

All of a sudden I can't see any of my programs in the admin console. They're still there and running, and when accessing the ISY99i I can see them in the blue screen, but after logging in to the admin console and clicking "Programs" they are not shown. How do I make them visible?

Hey everyone, I don't have a "Query All" default program that runs at 3am in my ISY. How would I go about adding it?

Folks, I've searched the forms but have not seen either so I'm wondering if folks can post some of their programs. I have a Venstar 7 day tstat that I'm only using for HEAT that I would like to have an ISY99i control. As it is straight forward to program an off during working hours and an on when home, I would like to see other users programs that possibly have it all in one program. Second, I just have a notification email sent once a day, similar to a heart beat. I would like to jazz it up a little with HTML. Any HTML examples? The more and more that I get spoiled by my Insteon integration throughout the house, the more I notice things that are not integrated, such as my RF Remote controlled gas fireplace. I was wondering if anybody knows about how to capture a couple of RF commands from the remote and use Insteon to broadcast it via a program. Could this be a combo of using something plugged into an OutletLinc? Thanks, Steve

I have installed a bunch of insteon switches and an ISY. I'm pretty decent at programming, but am running short of TIME at the some time that I am doing an addition with TONS of ISY automation planned. I really need help programming my system for lights, fans, etc. as well as integrating with Autelis pool and RS485 controls (windows, music, etc.). I am located in Chapel Hill, NC. Gee....I have 3 that do this: Walk into the room....triggering the sensor.....it flashes about 20 times in a row. Batteries are all new, and all sensors are brand new - less than a month old. All sensors - Jumper 5 set to all software control. All sensors are accessible and respond to the ISY just fine. Just why do they flash so blasted much?

Hey Michel: I thought I'd write this to the Forum. I have an "AWAY" program which runs obviously when I'm AWAY. It was set (to AWAY) a week ago (before the time change). It was running a program (under summary) for me which has been flawless for a long time. That program essentially turns every switch OFF when I'm away every hour. That program ALWAYS shows in my programs as "Running "Then". Tonight I went into ISY to look around (remotely) and noticed that the program although showed TRUE, was indeed running IDLE. To force it, I went into Main and ran a HOME callout via ISY, ISY then showed "HOME". I waited several minutes and went back to tell ISY I was AW…

Hi... Installed a second 8 button KPL (2486DWH8) V6.0 and it works fine except for the fact that I can't get the ISY to control the LED's. When I try to change the brightness levels I get an error that states: "Request failed" I've power cycled the ISY and looked thru the posts and can't find a resolution. My other 8 button KPL works fine.

We purchased our home with both the ISY and ELK already installed and have worked to understand how these work. Upon moving in we loved the programming that had been done so that when an upstairs motion detector sensed a path of lights to the master bedroom came on. Somehow that seems to not be working now and am guessing the two systems are not communicating with each other. I can see in the ISY Admin Console configuration tab that there is a spot to enter the IP address, Port, and security code. I have tried a couple of different ways to set this up without success. I would like to gradually ramp up the light in her room to full brightness over 9 mintutes starting at 6:21 am every morning M-F. I attached a screenshot of the current program. It seems simple to me but I am missing something.

Hi I just ran into an issue with the DST change. I have a program that queries the voltage of an ELK zone every 3 minutes. It runs the than statement at startup but ended when the time changed. I was wondering if this should have happened? Hi, I just purchased the network module and would like to improve my integration of various systems at home. Somehow my POST request isn't getting through and I don't know why. What is the best way to debug such a problem ? The error log doesn't give me a lot of information. I really would need some kind of request/response trace of what is going on to help me understand what is wrong. Is it possible to define a proxy to do this ? Hi - I recently had to restore my devices (with the fantastic help of Universal Devices support). However I cannot restore my EZRFX10. I keep getting the message found at that says the ISY is preparing the device and that it's ready for restore. But it does not restore the device. The device also shows that it's waiting for writes to the device. I tried to write the changes (several times). I tried to restore it several times. Then I reset the device to factory settings and retried the restore (and even the write). I could not restore it not matter when and how I tried to restore it. Why am I unable to restore it? Steve

With the network module I can now send a WOL package and successfully start systems in my house. What would really be awesome is if I could also check whether my systems are turned on / active through the ISY. Various ways to do this come to mind but of course I am limited by what the ISY can do * ping to an IP address and report as part of a program status * Network GET request if that system has a web server available, which most have these days. Hello, I started to play around with the irrigation module (finally) and setup a nice irrigation program. I have noticed, however, that my program is running daily after the initial 4 day ramp up that pushed me over my 0.5" irrigation requirement in my program. Hi All, After our power was restored from Hurricane Sandy (off for 30 hours), my ISY seems to have stopped responding to device status changes. For example, when I turn on a switch, the ISY doesn't show it as on. This means that any of my programs that fire on status changes have stopped working. Everything else seems to be fine. I've rebooted the ISY and checked the System Status (from the tools menu) - all seems good. Is it possible something is defective? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I have the weather and irrigation modules but the closest weather station is over 10 miles from my house. It doesn't seem like that would be very accurate for rain, wind, etc. With that in mind I don't use the evapotransiration with my EZRain sprinkler kit. Do you think a weather station a little over 10 miles away is accurate enough or would it be best to use other methods to control the sprinklers, ie. rain sensors/moisture sensors? I have a Remote Linc 2 (2444) and it appears (to me at least) that the bottom 2 buttons don't work. I have set the device in 8 button non-toggle mode, and when i press any of the other 6 buttons (a-f) i can see in the event viewer a message like : [ 1C 20 BD 3] DON 0,but when i press g or h, nothing. The led on the device flashes green, however so I know I have actually pressed the button. Is this a device issue, or something else?

Does anyone have ideas on how to make a triggerlinc somewhat weather resistant/tolerant? I would like to use them on some exterior doors. For the most part they would be sheltered from rain, however, it is not guaranteed. They also would be exposed to the sun. I wish there was a wireless door trigger. I have tried motion detectors but they are not reliable in windy conditions as too many environmental items such as trees, plants, etc. are near the doors and are moving in the wind causing false alarms.

So I've got the new LED programmable lightbulbs installed as an "Unsupported Device 1.58", and they work great, sans one feature- when one of the kids turns off the normal switch, they lose power. Is there a way anyone knows that I could code based on the event "Lost Power" or "Gained Power" ? It would be nice if someone turned it off via a normal switch I could detect it and change its state to "On" when it regains power if the switch had been turned off while the light was in the off state. Currently, it remembers its last state and returns to that- that doesn't work very well if I've timer'd it off and then someone turns off the switch.

Hi, is it possible to use replacement variables in the Network Resources of the Network Module the same way I can use them in the email/notification tab ? I really need my network resources to be more customizable and not static. Thanks Stephan
