Main issue: Trying to configure the local On Level and Ramp Rate for a SwithcLinc Dimmer in ISY but these seem to have no effect. For example, I set the On Level to 30% and the ramp rate to 2 seconds. When hit, the switch turns on to 100% immediately with no ramp. I added a number of new switches this weekend and tried this on several others and get the same results. Could be pilot error, but I upgraded to v3.2.3 Beta to get an ApplianceLink to work properly so maybe that could be part of it? Has anyone done any form of integration between their ISY/Insteon network and a Napco 1632 alarm panel? I run an ISY 99i Pro and have a Napco 1632. My security company is installing he Napco iRemote which allows access to a pseudo control panel wia the web or an app on an iDevice. Has anyone interfaced same with ISY/Insteon, or does anyone have a suggestion on how to try? Thanks Joe

Hi, I recently upgraded from a ISY-99i/r to a ISY-994i/r. I purchased the Network Module for the ISY-99. Do I need to purchase a new Network Module for the ISY-994 or can I use the same module? The ISY-99 is no longer being used. Thanks, Aaron

Some time ago it was recommended that users stick with Java 6 (latest version) for ISY. Is that still true or will Java 7 work properly? mike

I have not been able to figure out a way to do this..... I have a keypad small key set up to turn on a number of different lights when pressed. It is in toggle mode so when it is pressed again all the lights go off. No problem with that. What I would like to do is also use the buttons light as an indicator that one or more of the controlled lights are on. Essentially, if someone turns on one of the lights with the local control, the light on the keypad would come on to indicate that one or more of the associated lights are on. Then pressing the button would turn all off. Problem is, when I program the associated button to turn on as a response to the remot…

I'm sure there is a very simple explanation for this but the LED for the 8 button kp is not reflecting the actual status as to the garage door when I toggle the garage door to close/open via the kp. The light goes out as soon as I press the button to close and comes on as soon as I press the button to open. I think it should wait until the sensor has been satisfied in either condition. But, if I open and close the door manually the LED on the kp changes accordingly. I used the wiki instructions to set this up but maybe I missed something. Please assist, Thank you

All: I have a situation in my kitchen wherein I have an MS and a 2477D dimmer switch. The MS sets light level to 60% upon motion sense. However, I'd like to use a program to handle the situation when someone either raises or lowers the light level manually on the switch paddle. Right now, the light level snaps back to 60% upon motion. To avoid this I'm thinking that if I can query the "new" light level set my the use of the switch, I can then set the MS to the new light level to avoid the MS either raising or lowering the level back to 60%. THis may seem obvious to some, but I have a ISY-994IR Non Pro Version with 141 Devices, 53 scenes, 88 Programs, 22 Variables and 37 Folders. The Devices range from Insteon Motion Sensors, EZX10RF, EZSNSRF, EZFLORA, IO-Linc Garage Door to various switches Keypadlincs, Remotelincs, and Fanlincs. My question is how can I tell when I am going to need to upgrade to the PRO version if the ISY 994? I currently show 987MB Total with 98MB Reserved Used 17MB Bad 0MB, and Free 871MB. I have a 3300 Sqft Home and currently the bottom floors outside Deck, and Walkway and Garage have all the Insteon they will need. Hi all, NOOB here. I am trying to hook up my third Insteon system using ISY994I, and this one is complicated... I have a house on a seperate hydro meter from a shop, and devices in both locations. Distance from shop to house is 100+ft. I have dual linc modules outside both locations, but the signal cannot bridge the distance (porobably because they are all in metal enclosures). The solution I would like to try is to have two ISY994I, one in the house, one in the shop...problem is...they are both on the same network. Is this possible? When i log into http://isy from a computer, I only find the first ISY connected. Any way to do this? Thanks, John

Hello, [New to ISY and Insteon. Reading and learning. Thanks for all you've shared so-far.] My question regards motion detectors. I am using several 2842 detectors to trigger outdoor lights. I want to use 'on-only' so that any motion in front of a detector will reset the WAIT timer for the lights. However, when I set jumper 4 to 'on-only' there's never a change back to OFF. I monitor the SENSOR status and it stays ON forever. I tried settting it back to OFF under program control but it doesn't seem to stick. What do I need to do in ISY99 programming to make use of the 2842 'on-only' mode? Thanks in advance for your help. Dwayne A

I just installed a dual band switchlinc and a switchlinc relay to control some lights and a exhaust fan in my bathroom. I turned off the breaker and did the install. When I turned the breaker back on these 2 worked fine but I noticed another switchlinc dimmer in the bathroom in a separate location no longer had the led indicators lighting. Any ideas what caused this or if I can fix it? It only wanted to go on and off if I double tapped it until I did a restore device in my ISY? Let me know if I should put this on the Smarthome forum. After I typed it I just realized I was on the ISY forum but I know there are lots of the same people on both of them.

Greetings, I have a isy99ir pro and two dozen or so devices. I have a keypadlinc (non dimming) controlling the outside lights. I would like the top button to be all lights on, bottom all lights off, and one of the four buttons to toggle the outside lights on and off. Is this possible? Do I need to make a scene all on and a scene all off that includes all my devices? How do I get one of the four other buttons to control the switch instead of the top and bottom buttons? Up till now things have been pretty straight forward but this one is not so obvious. Thanks for any help!

I created a folder called "away" the folder states "if KPL C is on". Inside the folder are 4 programs for individual lights. They all come on at dusk, and turn off at different times with a random off time. If i turn KPL C on, and then return home, and turn KPL C off, the program continues to run, ie, the lights stay on, and i assume will continue until the set off time in the program. I'd like to have the lights go off when the KPL C is turned off. What is the easiest way add to the program to get it to reset all to off. I was going to add another program to the folder stating if KPL C is off then turn lights off. I don't know if this is the best way to accomplish what i…

Hi Guys, I've got a somewhat random off-topic question, but I figured I'd pick the brains of the gurus in this forum. I'm in the process of finishing my basement and in the hallway, I want to have 4 digital picture frames (2 on each wall). I had an electrician put a plug where I'd need it...so we've got power. And, I've got several LampLincs ready for action. What I wanted to do was have a motion detector in the hallway so that if it detects motion, it triggers the LampLincs, which, in turn, turns on all the digital picture frames. Then, they would remain on, until the basement lights are turned off (which would trigger the LampLincs to power down). …

I read that a 6 button can be changed to an 8 button keypadlinc. And vice versa. 1). How do you do that to the switch? 2). How do you get isy to see 8 buttons/nodes instead of 6 or vice-versa?

So I am hoping to get some help with a remote access problem. I was having problems remotely connecting (I am using MobiLinc) and determined with was due to not having a static IP. Next I set up a DDNS and configured my router to update the IP address automatically. I have port forwarding (secure port 443) set up as well. I can connect locally to my https://hostname.zapto.org ddns account and login into my isy without any problems, but when I try to pull this up remotely I get a website not available error. Hello, I got my isy994. Firmware is v.3.2.6 and PLM status says connected. When I click on start linking, I don't get any popup. The PLM beeps and I try linking a switchlinc and it seems to link. However nothing happens on the admin console. already upgraded to latest java. rebooted computer power cycles isy and plm. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Dave

Is there a way to assess if I am reaching the limits of my 99i regarding number of scenes, devices, etc.? I have approximately 60 devices on the network and 15 scenes. I have a few scenses that have 20+ devices in them. As I continue to build out my network, I'm just curious if I am reacing the limits on the 99i. Thanks.

I took the advice of another member on the forum to help set up my hot water recirculator pump using a looping program. However, I've found that the pump never seems to turn off outside of the hours I've set. Can anyone figure out what I'm doing wrong? Programs are below: I use this following program for a few light switches I have in various bathrooms that when they are turned on, the pump turns on manually for a set amount of time, otherwise the pump is turned off (this is only for if the switches are turned on outside of the above times).

I have a temperature monitoring device with contact closure at limits. I jumpered +5V to I1+ and wired the contact outputs of monitoring device between I1- and Ground. One of the ISY entries for the EZIO2x4 seems to toggle on/off as I manipulate contact closure on the monitoring device. (1) How can I reverse the logic so that no contact closure produces an "on" signal from EZIO2x4 ? (2) When I connect a second contact closure device, do I wire up the same as I1 except using I2+ and I2- ?
