I would think either turn the pump on X amount of time after the float calls for water or only have the program active twice a day.
-
The neutral for the switch has to come from the load side of the GFCI or it will trip the GFCI as you described.

Thanks for taking the time Teken! I did see the Flic and that needs the rod on the front af the rail like the horizontal blinds usually have. The Axis I Googled and it looks like they only do the chain drive units. I have a question sent to Soma about their hub which is just Pi computer so it would probably work as a node server but making that is beyond my capabilities. If I do order the Soma I will post back how they work out.

I picked no problems in the survey because it works the fan properly with the spoken but I did notice in the app when the fan was set to low it was shown as off and whent set to medium it showed speed 1. Controlling the fan in the app manually worked as expected.

This is an image I found online that is similar, I am not at home right now but I could get you an actual picture later.. I think it will have to be externally controlled and I am leaning towards the Soma but they are bluetooth and their connect hub is a Pi machine to connect them to Alexa and I am a little concerned how well it all works together.

Yes I saw those in my search thanks. From what I can tell their unit mounts in the rail which I don't think will work with the vertical blinds I have since the veins slide on the rotating shaft and must be close to the end to not have a gap.

Hello all, I am searching for a way to control my existing vertical blinds that use a rod to tilt the slats open and close. I found E-Wand which I like the idea of the automated sensors but I doubt they would work the way I would want on their own and with a RF remote they will not tie into ISY at all https://currentproductscorp.com/products/e-wand I also found the Soma Tilt which is at least supported through Alexa and I can link with ISY in any way I would want that way I would just have to buy their hub also https://www.somasmarthome.com/pages/smart-tilt Does anybody have any experience with either of these or have something else they could recommend?

How To Use A Switchlinc Switch With A Ceiling Fan?
tazman replied to saphotoexpress's topic in ISY994
They make a module that mounts in the fan that controls the fan and the light https://www.smarthome.com/fanlinc-insteon-2475f-ceiling-fan-and-light-controller-fixture-module-dual-band.html Then you can use whatever you want to control it which I like the 6 button keypad dimmers that you can use the dimmer for the light then setup the smaller buttons for the different speeds of the fan https://www.smarthome.com/insteon-2334-232-keypad-dimmer-switch-dual-band-6-button-white.html -
Wanting to control scene when telling Alexa to play or pause movie
tazman replied to andrew77's topic in Amazon Echo
You could create a routine in Alexa that when you speak pause or play however you want to phrase it Alexa also controls your ligths. If you have an ISY with the IR input you can also program IR commands to do what ever you want with ISY it will work both ways. -
So @Michel Kohanim is the nodeserver pricing expected to be a one time fee?
-
Thanks that is good information right there and reminds me of ISY with a barely long enough internet cable for me to add my lock after my last update

I have been reading all I can on here. I guess I have no need for the Wifi since it seems it's use is just for connecting to the router but I'm still wondering if i will need the bluetooth in the future. I'm sure I would be able to add the bluetooth in the future if I need it. I am also a little concerned about what I have been reading about problems where I would have to remote in using putty which I had to Google to find out what it was. I guess my biggest concern is getting in over my head with this but with the help from the forums I hope I can get through it.

Hello @Michel Kohanim , thank you for the response. I am fine waiting for the Pro to come back in stock and would even be fine placing the order now and have it ship when it is in. I'm not even sure what kind of use I will get out of it but I regret not getting the top of the line ISY even though I did not need it in the beginning and luckily UD made it possible to upgrade the unit I did get. Any timeline when the Pro might be back in stock?
-
It's unfortunate we have to wait until it's in stock again to order. I will keep checking on it's availability.

Thank you asbril for.the information! I know I did not realize the potential of ISY until I had it to mess around with. I guess I have to wait until the Polisy Pro is available anyway because I bought the basic ISY and I regret not buying the top of the line unit and ended up upgrading it after the fact. Does anyone know when the Pro will be available for purchase?

Hello I have an ISY 994 with IR and Zwave. My house is mostly Insteon, one motion Zwave switch and a Zwave lock.I use an Alexa to integrate some Wifi devices into ISY and I have a Harmony remote I use the IR functions to give me control of some the electrical items. I also have a Ramba vacuum Blink cameras and an Eufy doorbell. I am having trouble understanding what the Polisy with the nodeservers would do for me. Is there a cost for the different nodeservers? I have read on here to try and understand what all of this does but I have been unable to find something that makes it click for me. I only use a couple of programs so I know I don't have my house set to it's full potential but use it as a hobby and for my own enjoyment. Thank you Tom

I'm just learning more now, I was just using mostly linked devices before and now moving on to more automation type stuff. Making the scene did work. I was a little lost at first that the scene was only in the device list. Tom

OK thanks I will give that a try. Are we unable to operate one of the secondary Keypad buttons remotely and if you operate a switch that is not a primary controller remotely it will not operate it's scene? I have all Insteon switches in my house and everything works good I just have not done much with the remote access except have Alexa turn on lights and put some lights on my harmony remote. Tom

I'm having some trouble with the smaller Keypad buttons. Accessing ISY through the admin console or through the Web portal I am unable to toggle the A-D switches on and off. I made sure they are set to toggle mode and none are grouped together. I also ran into a problem with programs when I try to use a button as a visual que on what state something is in. Setting a button to "on 0 / off 0 (back light level)" it will turn other button lights off and when I set it to "on 15 / off 0 (back light level)" it will turn the button plus the other buttons back on that were on. I have the back light on all my keypads turned off and they just light up for what is turned on. Thanks for any input. Tom

I do have the Wifi adapter and I have their app for my phone but I'm not seeing other ways of integrating it into my home automation stuff. It seems like it is compatible with smart things but I would hat to have to buy one of those hubs just for that. Thanks Tom

Hello, does anybody know of a way to control a Schlage Sense lock? I have ISY, Echo and Harmony remote with hub all working together. I have the Schlage skill with Alexa but Alexa can not unlock the lock at this time. Any information people can pass on would be appreciated. Thanks Tom
