  1. My ISY994 died! I used this with Mobilinc Pro. So, replace or get the Insteon Hub and their iPhone App? Advice sought especially from those who have or had both. On the one hand, the Insteon Hub promises to work with Apple HomeKit with Siri integration. On the other hand, I do depend upon the powerful programming, link creation between Insteon devices, and the MobiLinc Pro App. So what are the tradeoffs? Difficult to find details on how powerful the programming is for the Insteon Hub. If I got the Insteon Hub and discover it doesn't suit my needs, will it work alongside the ISY994 if I got that too, i.e. do all the programming with the ISY994 but preserve the allure of "Hey Siri, turn on the bedroom light" with Insteon Hub? Or do I have a solid option with "Mobilinc Home App" with just the ISY994? What is this, a stripped-down version of Mobilinc Pro? I'm also suspicious of the nature of the "Siri Support" with the Mobilinc Home app, it says "Long press an accessory to see Siri voice command suggestions." Not sure what that means, i.e. can I or can I not turn on Siri on the iPhone (or Apple Watch) and tell it "turn on the bedroom light" or does it have to be through the app? Mitch
  2. Excellent, this fixed it, and it saved in the normal manner with the progress bar as opposed to the random time it created a file which I suspect is corrupt now. Should've searched for "Maverick" in the archives. Mitch
  3. When trying to save a backup from my ISY-99i, in preparation for an upgrade to the ISY-994i, on a Macbook Pro running OS X Maverick, I have the following problem: 1. A page appears to fast to read. 2. "Unable to create ZIP file". 3. Java Applet freezes up sometimes after clicking "OK" in response to above. Except one time it did create the backup file but I am worried about using it lest I lose all my links and have to start over. I'm running v3.3.10. Mac firewall is off. I found this thread: viewtopic.php?p=37951 I did as instructed and the problem persists. I'll probably go ahead and install the ISY-994i and restore from that backup in a couple weeks but thought I'd ask here first if there's something else I should do.
  4. Tim, thank you so much, I was wrong, I thought this issue predated the Kaspersky change but implementing the trusted web site corrected the problem so clearly this was the cause! Mitch
  5. Thanks Michel, sort of - as a matter of fact I did convert from McAfee anti-virus to Kaspersky recently but this problem predates that I think. I did recently switch from a Netgear hardware firewall/router to an Apple Airport Extreme but this problem exists at the other location with the same old router. No know changes to the Windows Firewall part but I may have without knowing it. What should I look for on each of these? Sounds like this is correctable... Mitch
  6. I need help, running an ISY-99i 2.8.16, when interacting via Internet Explorer 9, Windows 7, and Java 6.27 for IE 32 bit works normally on Desktop computer, works very abnormally on Laptop. Used to work fine on the laptop computer, cannot figure out why it stopped working suddenly. This is unfortunate because the laptop is what I usually use for my ISY-99i at my home and another at my cabin. Here's what happens: 1. Asks "Authenticate my lighting" user name and password as usual. 2. Exclamation points on all devices. 3. Asks again to "Athenticate My Lighting". 4. Repeats itself over and over. 5. Occasionally it will stop asking at some point... 6. And devices do not respond to changes.. 7. No correct device status... 8. All devices show 9.0 Minute Ramp Rate on upper right of console. 9. Does not do the usual complaints about non-working devices. So completely unusable. I have tried of course installing all current Microsoft updates, removing and reinstalling Java, restarting computer and ISY-99i, checked everything I can think of that might be different between the two machines. I have tried running "As Administrator", nothing. I have NOT done a factory reset on the ISY-99i, see no point in that since it works properly on the desktop. Has anyone else had this problem, ideas on the cure? I'm about ready to get a new laptop if that's what it'll take. Mitch
  7. I reviewed the forum the best I could to see if this was brought up before but can't find it so thought I'd mention that I programmed my ISY-99i to monitor the temperature once a day and to send an email and a text if it falls below 45 degrees at my cabin. No need to get a separate device! Of course, if the cause is a power failure...... Mitch
  8. Not certain if there is an ISY99i connection so please indulge me, but has anyone found a quality solution to have some surveillance cameras around the house that can be viewed on your iPhone and any computer? Specifically, I'd be looking for one that is either wired or with individual IP address over WiFi for each camera (I've used 800 GHz wireless cameras and they interfere with the WiFi in my home). Having a full-fledged DVR/motion detector/security would be optional but might be willing to part with the extra $ if it's necessary.
  9. Thanks very much! This worked. Mitch
  10. Attempting to create a "THEN" to set the dim setting for an Inlinelinc in a program. All I see are On, Off, Faston, Fastoff, a lot of Beep Durations, Backlight levels. How do you set the particular dimming level? I have the ISY-99i and the device is an InlineLinc dimmer, brand new, v.38. Mitch
