You can try removing all devices from alexa and rediscovering, by going to alexa.amazon.com, sign into your account, go to smarthome on left menu, go to devices, scroll to the very bottomand there is an option to forget all devices. Wait a minute or 2 and rediscover devices. This may help, not sure if this is what you refer to as removing devices above.

Is anyone using the below sensor, if so did you have any difficulty getting it to register open/closed? It installed just fine but does not seem to change states. I removed and reinstalled twice with same out come. There is a enbrighten zwave outlet around 10 ft from it. I healed zwave after install. It has been online for about a week, but has not seemed to work yet. There are about 15 zwave devices in the system and never had any problems before. So, was trying to decide if this defective or if I missed something? https://www.amazon.com/GE-Wireless-Attaches-Existing-32563/dp/B01KQDIUAW/ref=asc_df_B01KQDIUAW/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=228882292492&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7164489630807176233&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9014246&hvtargid=pla-393015477288&psc=1

I was curious if any of you have youtube channels showing off your systems, how you integrated products, etc.? There seems to be a lot on SmartThings, Home assistant and so forth, but I have found very little on ISY or insteon other than a few instructionable and very basic videos. Just curious to see what some have achieved and how they got there or did it.

Door sensor turn on light then stay on 5 min after close. program vs scene
TomL replied to ThisIsTheWay's topic in ISY994
Couldn't you just leave the current scene, then have a program that if status of light is on then wait 5 mins and turn off? -

Excuse me for asking, but not sure by the way you have it stated. Is you scene called 50% if so the spoken may be confusing Alexa, if not sorry for the inquiry

I noticed in PGC Store that the Ring NS is now version 1.1.3 vs the 1.1.0 that I have installed How do I upgrade to the newest version? Do I delete current and install newest or just install newest? I tried just stopping and restarting NS but that did not show any version upgrade happened.

Consider it a Chicken Tracker instead, study their feeding and migration patterns.. Can you turn the sensitivity down in AC settings or change mounting height lower and angle up?

You mentioned a Door. Could you not use an open close or hidden door sensor?

I tried the voice recognition, it does nothing for differentiating commands from different people. Most I have had it do is now and then address me by my name when responding to a command, i.e. OK, Have a nice day Tom. I am sure way down the road they have some AI ideas for it, but as of now its not a big deal. Naming in the bedroom I try to keep devices that are on my side named Toms Light, Toms Lamp, etc. My wife's side Barbi's Ligh,t Barbis Lamp etc. Shared items Our Light, is bedroom ceiling fan light, Our fan is bedroom ceiling fan, Our TV is bedroom tv etc. Lighting in Living room is End Table, Sofa Table, Floor Lamp, etc. Tried to make it simple and the wife uses it fairly well, without much trouble or complaining.

Alexa command and actual physical switch differ for program
TomL replied to andrew77's topic in Amazon Echo
IIRC, alexa only activates THEN and ELSE clauses. On for THEN, Off for ELSE. I would guess it is turning on the fan as te spoke for the fan, but is not actually running the program. THere is no statement to turn fan on in the THEN clause, so I don't think it is activating what you think it is. You could try another program where you name FAN Test or something have the THEN statement turn on the fan wait xx mins and turn off and ELSE turn off. -
Probably best if you could post the programs to be looked at.

I have downloaded Mobilinc X and want to see what I can do with it and how it can be displayed on wall mounted tablets, but the trial version says I have to enable mobil linc connect to get it to work. I know for what I want to do it will require the direct bundle, but there is not a trial version for it, there is just an outright purchase for 79.95. How can I preview this without connecting to moblinc or spending 79.95 to see if it is more advantageous for my needs then Agave, which I use presently? I am interested in what is customizable as far as display screens.

The 2474 does not require a neutral, but if I recall correctly it is a dimmer, not sure if they have a on/off switch. I believe they called it a 2 wire.

Also, you may want to write a program to query the ZTH and/or Zw100 periodically to keep the temp updated, I run one with the above programs that queries the bedroom TH every 15 minutes.

Below is a program I use fort he AC at night to keep our Bedroom at a somewhat standard temp my wife likes. Main-Main is the Insteon TH that controls the HVAC system, Bedroom-Main is the Insteon TH in the bedroom. I use the temp in the bedroom to control the setpoint on the HVAC. It may not be the prettiest but works for us. THe 8 minute wait is so compressor doesn't short cycle. You should be able to use this as a guide for the ZTH or ZW100 to change the setpoint on t]your main TH. you will just need to figure a low and high setpoint to use so the heat cycles the way you want. Hope this helps. TURNS OFF AC AC 10pm-530am 74 - [ID 0075][Parent 00D3][Run At Startup] If From 10:00:02PM To 5:30:00AM (next day) And 'LIVING ROOM / Main- Main' Mode is Cool And 'MASTER BEDROOM / Bedroom- Main' Temperature <= 74.5° Then Set 'LIVING ROOM / Main- Main' Cool Setpoint 76° Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') TURNS ON AC AC 10pm-530am 74 Copy - [ID 00B3][Parent 00D3][Run At Startup] If From 10:00:02PM To 5:30:00AM (next day) And 'LIVING ROOM / Main- Main' Mode is Cool And 'MASTER BEDROOM / Bedroom- Main' Temperature >= 75.0° Then Wait 8 minutes Set 'LIVING ROOM / Main- Main' Cool Setpoint 74° Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

IF ZTH <= 68 OR ZW100<=68 THEN set TH to ?? ELSE set TH to?? 2nd program THEN Query ZTH Query TH wait ?? minutes Run 2nd program Then ___________ THe ZTH needs to be on a DC adaptor as well as the ZW100 . I think this will work, trying to recall what I have programmedfor something similar to this in the summer to have a thermostat in one end of the house change set point on main thermostat. You can also get fancy and use variables and have temp avg's etc. But simple may work.

@SoCal Rob Glad you got it working
-
IIRC ,if program 2 is not disabled, the If would run on its own when conditions were met, it would need to be disabled to allow program 1 to call it when wait finishes. Maybe the upgrade enabled program 2? I run many prgrams with waits and calls to IF statements in disabled programs with no problems.

I know this thread is a few months old, but thought I would ask here rather the start a new one. After reading the user manual and threads I could find here, there are a few things I am not sure of. I have installed the Smoke bridge on the ISy and all nodes are showing, so YAY to that. I have 2 smoke detectors and 2 carbon monoxide/smoke detectors, all FA one link all compatible model numbers. Questions are: Does each detector have be linked to smoke bridge or just one, if just one does it matter which type? Since there are 2 of each type detector will linking the carbon monoxide/smoke detector, if only one needs linking, allow the smoke detectors to trigger the ISy as well or vice versa? Thanks Tom

I have found, so far, that the temp and humidity are quite accurate on the insteon tstats. I do quarterly calibrate them to the ambient temp and humidty of each room, with the use of 5 extech temp humidity loggers, and they re usually within a half to a degree of the last cal . I bought a few of theinsteons new but most were reconditioned or used on ebay, amazon and SH. There are motion sensors in most rooms so I can use that for occupancy to a degree. Cool is good though, if thats what floats your boat!!! Mine is cost.

I have a standard HVAC system, with no bells and whistles. I just use the Insteon Tstat, it works well with ISY and plays nice with alexa if you need that. There are 7 of them in the house and they are used as room sensors. I can change the setpoint on the main Tstat to the temp or level in any of the other rooms. The humidity reading on them can be used to control humidifiers or fans, etc. Not needing all the vacatiom, away, follow me and so on and not caring that it is not a show piece, it works for me where function is the most important feature. Just turning the Ac or Heat on or off works just fine. I can and do have some programming through the ISy for setpoints and such based on where we are in the house, what the temp is outside, etc.. So for some that may read this thread if its just a standard HVAC installation and you don't need the flash, I believe you can accomplish most if not all of the funcrions that an ecobee or ventstar can offer, with the Insteon Tstat. And it is all local control, though you can use alexa, google, agave, mobillinc, etc. with it. Not the most glamorous set up but works. Never used the GoControl mentioned above but it seems like it would be the same option in zwave instead of insteon.

The spoken in the portal is just what you are going to identify it as in the alexa app. Sometimes you may wnat to call a stae variable you have created such asin, Box on the Wall, what is the status of Living room fan. Other then that sounds like you are doing it correctly, make sure you assign open and close values to it when you save it as a contact or motion sensor. You may want to update teh Alexa app id one is available.

Insteon Thermostat unresponsive thru ISY-Alexa Integration
TomL replied to lgilsenberg's topic in Amazon Echo
I have 7 Insteon Tstats 2 of them the wireless version, I have never had any difificulty with them reporting through alexa other than the occassional, "this device is not respondng please check its hub and network connection", but I get that from time to time on any device. I would try changing the spoken in the ISY portal Alexa section, check to make sure it is registered as a Tstat and see if it makes a difference. -
Was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Dbell HD Plus Video Doorbell? Was wondering how well it performed and how easily it integrates with ip cam software, like Blue Iris. https://store.dbell.ca/product/db-hd-live-video-doorbell/#tab-reviews. Interested in the possibility of it being a less expensive option than DoorBird for local control of video. Thanks Tom
