  1. No problem dnl! This is all good information. I'm learning a lot here, but it still ticks me off that we have to jump through all these hoops since the double-click functionality is so unreliable and extremely difficult to implement.
  2. Yes, this is a big help. I've been reading through a very lengthy post here that was linked to in the Wiki. The one about the guy who wanted to open the garage door when he hit a key on his KeyLinc three times in a row. He basically uses this same concept. Took a while for all this to sink in, but now I'm getting lots of ideas of things I had not thought of before. This forum is really awesome!
  3. Just to be sure I understand how this works, since this concept is new to me... When you do this: From that point on, until eternity (or until the ISY is rebooted), any reference to that program will come back as true until you specifically execute this: Is this assumption correct?
  4. That's another great idea! Thanks
  5. Agreed. Either one of those should work every time. I'm giving up on the double-click functionality. Its just not worth the hassle.
  6. I'm going to play with it tonight. Have you gotten to the point where it works every time? I'm really frustrated with this functionality!
  7. Any idea if the 2466S ToggleLinc Relay (v.3A) have the beep? I don't see it mentioned in the product specs.
  8. I'm trying to picture how you are doing this. Are you actually holding on to the paddle the whole time you double-click? If so, I haven't tried it that way. I do the double-click much the way you do a mouse, where I just slap the paddle twice. Now I'm wondering if the relay responds differently that way vs holding the paddle. Haven't heard of that before. Looks like I have some homework to do. Does this "beep" function actually emit an audible beep from the switch? Thanks for the info and ideas! John
  9. I think we have a winner here! That should work perfectly. I'm going to leave out the Off/Off for a day or two, just to see if I can get the hang of double-clicking. But if that fails, the technique above should do the trick. Thanks!
  10. Thanks again for the replies and tips Lee, but I'm just not getting a consistent response from the switch. I double-click it at the same rate each time (about the same speed as a computer mouse double-click), but it only seems to work about once out of every 4 tries. I even programmed 2 of the other new switches to do something on a double-click, and its the same on all of them. I guess I'll just have to give up my plans for using the double-click functionality. I can't rely on something that only works "sometimes" John
  11. Wow. This is really frustrating. This is still a "sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't" scenario. Do other people have this issue with double-clicking? Seems that no matter how quickly or slowly I double-click, it just doesn't work reliably.
  12. Turned logging on, double-clicked the paddle up, and here is the log: Mon 02/21/2011 06:49:40 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 17.A7.D2 00.00.01 CB 11 00 LTONRR (00) Mon 02/21/2011 06:49:40 PM : [standard-Group][17.A7.D2-->Group=1] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=2 Mon 02/21/2011 06:49:40 PM : [ 17 A7 D2 1] DON 0 Mon 02/21/2011 06:49:40 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 17.A7.D2 0F.9D.40 41 11 01 LTONRR (01) Mon 02/21/2011 06:49:40 PM : [standard-Cleanup][17.A7.D2-->ISY/PLM Group=1] Max Hops=1, Hops Left=0 Mon 02/21/2011 06:49:40 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 17.A7.D2 00.00.01 CB 11 00 LTONRR (00) Mon 02/21/2011 06:49:40 PM : [standard-Group][17.A7.D2-->Group=1] Max Hops=3, Hops Left=2 Mon 02/21/2011 06:49:40 PM : [ 17 A7 D2 1] DON 0 Mon 02/21/2011 06:49:41 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 17.A7.D2 0F.9D.40 41 11 01 LTONRR (01) Mon 02/21/2011 06:49:41 PM : [standard-Cleanup][17.A7.D2-->ISY/PLM Group=1] Max Hops=1, Hops Left=0 No idea what all this means, but the only switch I see being referenced is the one I double-clicked, which is address 17.A7.D2, named "Garage - Right Side". Here is its program: If Control 'Garage - Right Side' is switched Fast On Then Set 'Garage - Left Side' On Set 'Garage - Rear' On Set 'Shop Fan' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Is there anything in the log above that shows that the ISY even recognized the double-click? Thanks
  13. Thanks Lee. I'll try that wen I get home tonight.
  14. The more I think about it, the more I like that idea. I could just set the program to check if a fast-on is received and the fan is already on, then start the countdown timer to shut it off. Thanks!
  15. Is there something that prevents the double-click functionality from working every time? I setup the program below, but it doesn't always work. I can double-click the switch up, and sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. I've already had a few times where I would double-click up, wait a few seconds, but nothing happens. I do it a second time, still nothing. Then, on the 3rd try it will work. I just don't understand what's going on here! If Control 'Garage - Right Side' is switched Fast On Then Set 'Garage - Right Side' On Set 'Garage - Left Side' On Set 'Garage - Rear' On Set 'Shop Fan' On Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
  16. Thanks everyone for the replies. Looks like the bottom line here is that the fast-off will immediately turn that load off, no matter what you do after that. That's the part that I wasn't clear on. I may go with an inlinelinc.
  17. I'm playing around with double-clicking & my ISY-99 and have a question. I put a new ToggleLinc Relay switch (2466SW) on my shop fan. I'd like to have a delay in turning it off if I double-click down. I would normally just turn it off by clicking the switch down. I'd like to setup the double-click down to delay turning the fan off for 5 minutes. I just created this test program: If Control 'Shop Fan' is switched Fast Off Then Wait 10 seconds Set 'Shop Fan' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') However, when I double-click down, the fan immediately goes off. What am I missing here? Am I not understanding how the double-click down (Fast Off) works? If this won't work, is there another way to do this? Thanks
  18. Sweet. Thanks Rand!
  19. Thanks for the reply Michel. Haven't done much more that very basic programming with the ISY, so would you mind showing me a code snippet so I can see what this would look like?
  20. Using ToggleLinc Relay switches (#2466S), I want to create a scene/program where one switch can turn others on, but only when I want. I thought I had read somewhere that you can do a double-click on this switch? In my garage, I have 4 sets of lights, each set controlled by a 2466S. There is one switch which I would like to turn on all the others, but only if I double-click it up, and turn everything off if I double-click down. I can't find any reference here or in the Smarthome documentation about this double-click functionality. I'd be looking to program my ISY-99 to read the double-click on the one switch, then turn the other 3 on.
  21. Thanks Lee, but that still did not work. I went through each one of the steps, but still can't get the status column. When I pause Kaspersky, it works fine.
  22. I'm running Kaspersky AV 2010. I've looked around in all the settings, but don't see anything that might be blocking it. Since the admin console can get the list of the devices from the ISY, I don't understand why it can't get each device's status.
  23. Just built a new PC, running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I can bring up the ISY console, but can't get any status fields to update. Nothing happens when I do the query. From the "Main" tab, the "Current State" column is blank all the way down. Any ideas? Thanks
  24. I'm on 2.7.15. The post above explains what is happening. Thanks!!!!!
  25. When I look at the table of devices attached to my router, there is a name associated with every IP address except the ISY-99i. I don't see any way in the configuration to set a name for this device. Of course, this isn't a big deal, but I'd like to give it a name.
