    WLED Node Server

The last post here was in 2022, is there anyone who is working on this node server? I had lights installed on the house this past weekend and the controller is now connected to my EISY. I was hoping to be able to access the presets in WLED through the EISY. K
  2. I am afraid not yet. I have plugged the ratgdo in again in the house and can see it come online with the router app, but that is as far as I made it. I don't get much free time on the weekends as that is family time. Hopefully next week I will get it in the garage and give it a go. K
  3. Happy to report that there has been some progress made. While sitting in the room with the router I fired up the laptop and plugged in the ratgdo to my laptop (same one as previous attempts). This time if connected right away without having to reload the drivers. Next I flashed the firmware. After clicking NEXT on the "installation complete!" notification I let it sit for a bit. I then went into my router's app on my phone and turned off the 5G radios. I let it sit for a bit. I then clicked "CONNECT TO WI-FI". It came up with the next screen asking for the SSID and network password. Again I let it sit. After nothing happening I entered my SSID and password. At this point it looked much the same as it did yesterday. I clicked back on my browser with the intention of trying again. I connected to the device again and was offered the option of opening the terminal and logs screen. I gave that a go and the screen was actively showing me the attempts to connect to wi-fi. After less than a minute I saw the "WIFI CONNECTED" message! I followed the instructions on the ratgdo-pg3 page and used http://<ratgdo-local IP> to perform the setup. Once I clicked save and reboot it gave me a "Success: rebooting the microcontroller using your credentials." message. The connection then timed out and I was unable to log into it again using http://<ratgdo-local IP>. However, when the device is powered on I now see it listed as a connected device on my router. I re-enabled my 5G radios on my router. Unfortunately that is as far as I was able to get as my ISY finder now cannot find my EISY on my local network. So I haven't been able to see if the node server can see the ratgdo. And I am also out of playtime with it tonight. Thanks again for your help, I will update when I have news. Thanks! K
  4. Quick question: after installing the firmware it will give me three options, the second is connect to wi-fi. Should I click that? It takes me to the screen to input the SSID. Should I let it sit there or should I wait before clicking that link? K
  5. I missed your last suggestion last night. I didn't know it would do that. I will try that tonight. I let it sit after entering the SSID and password and went to bed. From 7:40pm to 5:00am it just sat there claiming on screen that it was trying to connect. Thanks. K
  6. I am using the cable that came with the ratgdo. It worked at programming last night. I did try again and I was able to get it to flash the firmware again. I then entered the SSID and password and left it. That was half an hour again and it still says "Configure Wi-Fi Trying to connect" I can't find it listed on the router either. I think I might leave it here and check it in the morning. I found a reddit post about it taking a long time to connect the first time. If this doesn't work I will try turning off all the 5G on my routers to see if I can get it to connect tomorrow night. K
  7. It has been a frustrating evening with no progress. I find I have to reinstall the drivers and reboot for my computer to even recognize the device. And now every time I try to reinstall the firmware I am greeted withe a "failed to initialize the device message". I am going to walk away from it for now. I may try a different computer tomorrow. K
  8. I will try that tonight. Thanks. K
  9. No. I get to the point where it installs the firmware and then says success. It then asks for my network id and password. Then it just sits there with the little blue circle spinning with "trying to connect to network". That is as far as I get. K
  10. All of them, but it is 5G on my phone. I have a mesh router network with one router on the second floor and one in the basement. K
  11. I have both 2.4G and 5G in my house. However, they are both listed under the same SSID. I can use the app on my phone to turn off either the 5G or the 2.4G radios. Perhaps I will try turning off the 5G radios tonight when I make another attempt. Thanks, K
  12. Probably should mention its a 2.53i board. K
  13. I am following the instructions on how to install the firmware on the ratgdo and have been at it for about an hour now. It took several tries and a couple of laptop resets but I finally managed to get the driver working. I thought that my troubles were over at that point. I am able to install the firmware and get the firmware installed screen. I then am asked to enter the wifi name and password. I do so an it not is on the "Configure Wi-Fi, trying to connect" screen. There is a spinning circle. After about twenty minutes I backed out of the page and reconnected to the ratgdo. Here I had the option to look at "Terminal and Logs". I clicked on that an it kept printing out wifi attempt number over an over with an increasing number. I checked the router client list and there is nothing new on there. So I tried installing the firmware again, clicking the "erase" option again. I have tried this three times now and I am still stuck at the "connecting to wi-fi" stage. Any ideas on what I should try next? Thanks, K
  14. I migrated from an ISY994 to EISY early last year. Mine sits on a shelf next my modem and router in the basement. The only three things connected to it are the Z-matter dongle, a USB Insteon PLM, and the power cord. I have never connected a monitor or mouse or keyboard. I had to do the initial setup using the UD Mobile to get it connected to my home network, but after that I have used the java based admin console to set everything up and change things from either my desktop or laptop computer. I just followed the instructions fond here: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Eisy:User_Guide I hope this helps. K
  15. Its good advice. Unfortunately my wife frowns upon ordering food to the house except for special occasions. So for me at least it isn't much of an issue. I also run the porch lights at a dimmed level in the evenings using the sunset time in my EISY. I use the motion to bring them up to full brightness. K
  16. I was just typing a response about getting the program to work when you answered: I should have played with is some more before posting, I think I have answered most of my questions. I was using "Status" instead of "Control" in the program. Using Control gets me the "..../Ring/Front Door (Motion) is switched Motion. Not sure why I am not getting any voltage information, but so long as the motion and ding parametres work I'm not fussed about it. Thank you for your reply. K
  17. I just installed the Ring plugin into Polyglot. I am running PG3x Version 3.2.17 and IoX v.5.8.0 on my EISY. I authenticated the plugin and that seemed to work fine. I was then able to bring the Ring node into my EISY. I clicked on the "Test Ring" and the result is "Success". I now have Ring in the drop downs on the left side of the Admin Console with Front Door and Front Door (Motion) under it. So far I think I've done everything right. Under Front Door I have the Status listed as "online". I do not have any battery life of mV information, but I also don't expect any as this is a wired device powered by my homes original 24V transformer. Is my expectation true or should I be seeing the voltage that the Ring is receiving? I also wanted to run a program to turn the porch lights on when motion is detected. I previously had this working through IFTTT, but it was a bit clumsy and had to be restarted from time to time. Originally I had a state variable that was set to 1 by IFTTT and a program that turned on the lights and then set the variable back to 0 after a delay. I wanted to modify this program and add the Ring Motion from the node to directly control the program. However, I can't find anything about "Front Door (Motion)" in the drop downs for status in the IF part of the program. I went back to the Main tab and Front Door (Motion) has nothing in it other than the name and the address. I also noticed that I don't have anything tell me that someone has rung the bell. Does the doorbell need to be rung or detect motion before the needed information is populated in IoX? I am remotely working on my EISY so I can't go ring the bell or walk in front of it. Thanks for any information! K
  18. Thank you both Geddy and kzboray! It's working again. K-Bert
  19. I only just managed to give this a try, it did not work. Trying to log into https://eisy.local:3000 came back with "not found". K-Bert
  20. Thank you, I will give it a try. K-Bert
  21. That is disappointing. I guess I will switch to using an Instion I/O garage kit for monitoring the door and wire up the second remote to operate the door. K-Bert
  22. I have an EISY running firmware v.5.7.0 with PG3x Version 3.2.15. All but one of the nodes I have installed are running just fine. I have the MyQ node that is no longer getting the proper status of the garage door opener. I looked and noticed that I am behind one version of this node. So I decided to upgrade to the newest version before trying anything else. However, if I click on the "Plugins Store" the drop down box that allows you to select "Production Store" and "Non-production Store" is blank. Clicking on the box does show the two options and the green box that says "Settings saved successfully" shows up and then goes away as it is supposed to, but this is all that happens. I get the message "Getting installable Plugin list from Polyglot Store. Standby...". Nothing else happens. I have left it for hours to see if it will update, but it does not. If I click on "Purchases" I get the green text boxes that say "Checking for Purchases. Please Wait..." and "Refreshed Plugins List from Server." and the message on screen saying "Getting list of purchases from UDI Portal. Standby...", but again nothing further happens. Does anyone have any ideas I should try before submitting a ticket? K-Bert
  23. There isn't. I have just run through and checked every email my EISY is set up to send me and they all work now that I have cleared the "From" parametre and left it default. K
  24. Well, some good news: As I mentioned before during a remote session UD support discovered my mail was timing out. Switching ports and cables on my router did not fix it. When I attempted to switch to wifi it would not connect. I was given a slightly different method to connect to wifi (press power button twice when starting and not when UD mobile tells me to). This worked. Now the email test works! And some of my programs that send emails work. I suspect I might be running into some of the issues GJ Software Products described. I will do some more testing tomorrow. K
  25. Final update: Ticket has been closed and I am told that the information need to resolve this problem. The fix will be provided in a future update. K
