"Else" portion of program
Right, I usually do this, but only for much longer changes i.e house wide backlight changes. Thanks, will make these changes. Better approach?

"Else" portion of program
@larryllixk, so previously I have used this approach, but this is when I found the condition, i.e lighting level would come on at one level then very quickly apply "then" changing to appropriate lighting levels. I thought if I simply changed the scene state at a fixed point in time it would avoid this issue.

"Else" portion of program
I am indeed trying to adjust scene. I have found if I simply change the settings of a node between a period of time, the results are my lights turn on at one level then quickly adjust to the corresponding active program. Here's one of the programs I'm wanting to confirm. The hope is as the day progresses into night, I have one level of lighting during wake hours, and a much dimmer light leveling during the wee hours. At the end of the wee hours program (i.e daylight) the light levels return to much higher levels. Guest Wing Wee Hours - [ID 0021][Parent 0053] If From 11:00:00PM To Sunrise (next day) Then In 'Hallway / Hallway' Set 'Hallway / Hallway Lights East' To 20% in 0.1 seconds In 'Hallway / Hallway' Set 'Hallway / Hallway Lights Mid' To 20% in 0.1 seconds In 'Hallway / Hallway' Set 'Hallway / Hallway Lights West' To 20% in 0.1 seconds In 'Guest Bathroom / Guest Vanity' Set 'Guest Bathroom / Guest Bathroom Vanity' To 15% in 0.1 seconds In 'Peter's Office / Peter's Office' Set 'Peter's Office / Peters Office Lights' To 35% in 0.1 seconds In 'Guest Bedroom / Guest Lights' Set 'Guest Bedroom / Guest Bedroom Lights' To 35% in 0.1 seconds In 'Back door / Backdoor' Set 'Back door / Hallway Bank / Backdoor Lights' To 35% in 0.1 seconds In 'Back door / Backdoor' Set 'Back door / Backdoor Lights' To 35% in 0.1 seconds Else In 'Hallway / Hallway' Set 'Hallway / Hallway Lights East' To default In 'Hallway / Hallway' Set 'Hallway / Hallway Lights Mid' To default In 'Hallway / Hallway' Set 'Hallway / Hallway Lights West' To default In 'Guest Bathroom / Guest Vanity' Set 'Guest Bathroom / Guest Bathroom Vanity' To default In 'Peter's Office / Peter's Office' Set 'Peter's Office / Peters Office Lights' To default In 'Guest Bedroom / Guest Lights' Set 'Guest Bedroom / Guest Bedroom Lights' To default In 'Back door / Backdoor' Set 'Back door / Hallway Bank / Backdoor Lights' To default In 'Back door / Backdoor' Set 'Back door / Backdoor Lights' To default

"Else" portion of program
Hi @larryllix by the above do you mean it will affect any other programs which have the same nodes? So for example, If i have a "dim program" that sets the hallway to 30% after 8pm, and I have an "arriving home geofence program" that turns on the hallway between 6pm and 11pm, then after 8pm the "arriving home program" will also fall under the "dim program" resulting in my geofence hallway program turning on the lights to 30%?

"Else" portion of program
Hi All Just looking for some clarification. In my program I have If between 10pm and sunrise Then Set scene to this Else Set the scene to default. Can I assume at the end of the If time, i.e at sunrise, my scene will return to the default settings? The cookbook states "• The THEN statement will run when the program is TRUE. • The ELSE statement will run when the program becomes FALSE." So I assume when the if is not longer true the status is false. Correct?

Motion device issue
Don't see the luminance either. Is there somewhere I can research the purpose and definition of these fields? Just not getting how to bring them into play ie scenes or programs 87773733_MotionSensor.MP4

Hi @larryllix Is this the location you are referring to? When I click on it it simply takes me to the device, but no further information.

Linked device has 3 components
I'm struggling to understand what each of the 3 components are created when I link something like a motion sensor. How can these be utilized in scenes or programming and why do they all have the same fields under the "options" tab? I would like to try to tray their heartbeat. It was suggested using the dusk and dawn component, but I don't see either when I link this device. I really don't even understand how I would use it as a motion trigger as I don't see a variable that acknowledges or changes with motion.

Here's what one of my motion sensor looks like with clean install. How do i know which is the light sensor?

Motion device issue
There is a post "motion sensor heartbeat" by @metal450 with a bit of info on programming. Control Sensor-Dusk.Dawn is switched on OR Control Sensor-Dusk.Dawn is switched off I'm unclear what the switched on and switched off means. Is this the sensor detecting motion?

Motion device issue
I think @larryllix meant the writes icon at the top of the admin console. It turns off the auto writes.

Motion device issue
Wondering if any one can help me understand the motion sensor makeup. I had assumed that much like a leak sensor (battery) there would be a heartbeat associated with the motion sensor. I embedded what I assumed it must be but the program from @belias which tracks the battery for the leak sensor isn't sending what I would expect for the motion sensor. Am I wrong in assuming there is a heartbeat for the motion sensor?

timed lights
Control seems to be working. Thanks for the pointers. I don't understand why Status wouldn't work in this instance. Not sure I understand its purpose.
-
timed lights
each of these dimmers is stand alone. I'll give control a try to see if that works. I had read in another archived post that status was preferred for the following "When using control, this program will only trigger when the switch in manually operated and, in this case, only when turned on specifically rather than fast on or fade up. Status will catch the change in status regardless of how it gets that way - even if the switch is turned on remotely by a linked device or scene.

timed lights
Hi All. Guessing I'm over looking something that is right in front of me. I've created a program that is to turn off certain lights(all dimmers) after a 10min period (currently set to 10 seconds for testing). It runs as expected if I manually run the "If" statement, but doesn't when left to its own. I've tried both the on level "is not" as well as ">" off. neither are working. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

How is this done?

8 button keypad
K, I'm fairly new at this as well but here goes. If i understand what you are wanting to do, you will need to add your switch into the Scene Toggle A as well as a controller. Two controllers, Toggle A and switch#, both controllers. Then you will need to click on the scene as well as each controller and set the configuration for each. Ie click on the scene and set the response you want from Toggle A and Switch#. Then click on Toggle A inside of the scene and configure the response you want from Switch #. Finally click on Switch # and configure the response you want from Toggle A There are others on here who will explain it much clearer, but there you go

8 button keypad
Something Lilyoyo just pointed out to me for a different issue i was having as well. Not only do the players in the scene need to be configured, but under the controllers of that scene each device needs to be configured. Basically, click on scene adjust your settings, then click on controller and adjust the included switches/dimmers settings.

Strange Scene Behaviour
I generally don't use the physical device, but activate me scenes via Alexa. To still have functionality when our country internet is spazzing out I thought I would put scenes on the 8 button and so am only now seeing the strange behavior. Nice catch Lilyoyo. So simple once you know.
