Something Lilyoyo just pointed out to me for a different issue i was having as well. Not only do the players in the scene need to be configured, but under the controllers of that scene each device needs to be configured. Basically, click on scene adjust your settings, then click on controller and adjust the included switches/dimmers settings.

I generally don't use the physical device, but activate me scenes via Alexa. To still have functionality when our country internet is spazzing out I thought I would put scenes on the 8 button and so am only now seeing the strange behavior. Nice catch Lilyoyo. So simple once you know.

I should have said i didn't realize i had to do so under the controller

Yes, the inlinlinc is part of the scene. I have configured it to be off in the scene, not sure how to do so for controller

Sorry. Just made edits to my post. What I'm experiencing in my "Dim Kitchen" Scene, is that the local switch/dimmer/inline parameters are over riding the scene settings even when activated by a controller. For example I have my "Island light" switch configured to be off when the "Dim Kitchen" scene is activated via button C on an 8 button switch. The action results in the Island lights coming on the local setting values. The physical lights are routed through the inlinelinc which is also part of the "Dim Kitchen" scene and is configured to be off when "Dim Kitchen" is activated.

Not sure I will be able to explain this very well. I have many scenes which work perfectly, but I have a few scenes that don't and I can't understand why. My understanding of scenes is that the scene parameters override the local switch/dimmer/inline parameters when activated by a scene controller. The only way I seem to have the desired effect is to click on the switch/dimmer/inline device within the scene and change the parameters on this level, which I believe are no longer the scene parameters but actually the local settings. The makeup of this scenes I'm having trouble with includes an inlinelinc dimmer which I am wondering could be the culprit. Sorry if this is hard to follow.

Hi All Wondering if anyone can offer any experienced suggests migrating an already existing Smarthings Z-wave network over to my ISY. I also need to find a compatible Z-Wave extender that works with ISY z-wave module, as the ISY alone is unable to connect with devices at the far ends of my home. Any suggestions appreciated. PB

yes that's correct. Thanks for pointing that out. I'm realizing that trying to source answers to the same question from two different conversations may be bad practice?

Thanks very much. I was able to setup the parameters via the suggested link, but in the admin console interface I'm not receiving any data. Now maybe I need to configure something on the isy side to present this data? From a screen capture I've seen of someone's admin console weather node they are receiving several different fields of data. This is for weatherbit but I'm assuming they should all present their data in a similar way.

Hi Zor. Wondering where you found the explanations for climacell? I can't make heads or tails.

Thanks Goose. Have up and running.

Hi there. I've successfully installed the geofence node server, but am unsure how to go about adding the myQ server.

Hello there. Wondering how the MyQ node server install works? I'm unable to figure this out.

Thanks MrBill

Just one sec.... Think I've just answered my own question. I went back and realized if i just add all buttons to each scene with the status of off for the one button not controlling the scene then that should clean up any hanging backlights. Sound aboot right?

Hello All. I've had an 8 button keypad in my insteon network for approx. 4 yrs. Couldn't really get the concept of this thing under the insteon hub, so never really took to it. I've recently moved it into an open area in my kitchen and have programmed the buttons to activate scenes. Really enjoying it now. All scenes are different variations of how the kitchen lighting is set throughout the evening. For example "Cooking", "Dim Kitchen", and "Night Kitchen, Kitchen Off. All scenes basically utilize the same several sets of lights on different dim/on/off levels. The one thing I can't get my head around is how to have scene "C" turn off (LED backlight) when i activate scene "B". As it stands, by the end of night, all buttons are lit up by the end of the night, because most scenes have been activated throughout the evening. I was going to attempt a program such that when one is on the others are off, but the status for anything other then the "Main" button aren't available as a "then" status choice. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again, PB

Continue to get "server timeout" with both Gmail and default server settings. How would I go about converting to sms?

Thanks Larry. Ya, I've been having some odd behaviour as of late. Devices not found in isy, and Alexa randomly rediscovering all my devices. Someone mentioned it might be my ssd card. I have one on order. Assuming I simply have to restore my most recent backup once SSD card is swapped out.

Hello All Hoping someone can offer some insight. I have a water main connected to an insteon IOLinc. When my 4 leak sensors detect "wet" the valve is meant to close. This am we woke to no water. Sure enough the valve had been closed. I looked to ensure none of the sensors wet. log within the isy admin console is blank. Is there anyway to see what and when this was triggered? Also, what's the best method to send notifications when something like this is triggered? Thanks for any suggestions.
