@tmorse305you're back a few version, might want to upgrade. What does the log show when you try to manually install the nodedefs with the button in NodeLink? I'm wondering if the polisy version of the ISY doesn't support the same API calls (to grab the nodedef info).

Been previously discussed here for the long story. Short answer is no.
-
Nope, you'd need to migrate your Z-Wave over to HA and zwavejs (or zwavejsmqtt).

ISY Home Assistant Integration is slow & unreliable?
io_guy replied to Venicenerd's topic in Home Assistant
I've been using the ISY with HA for about 2 years now. I can't speak for controlling 3-4 Insteon devices at a time but when I command single devices it is instant. The only time I do multiples would be in an Insteon scene which is also very fast. The only time I get status update issues has been with failing devices. -
I remember when this forum used to be very good at staying on topic and technical... Oh well.

Maybe I'm the odd one out here but I chose Zooz because of their asthestics and feel. - I hate the multiple LEDs that Insteon or Homeseer Zwave give. Zooz gives a single tiny LED that I can customize for notifications if I want. - To me the Zen77 is way more solid feeling than Insteon. - Also drove to them by their slim depth and terminals for easy install. - GE have this size too but they never update their firmware. - Added bonus of ZW700 and price.

Friend is looking to get out of Home Automation, I told him I'd post to see if anyone was interested in his setup. He doesn't want to piece-sell, just the whole thing. $650 CAD. 1 ISY-944i Pro w/ 500 series Z-Wave 1 2613S PLM 20 2477D Dimmer 11 2476S Switch 2 2456S3 ApplianceLinc 1 2456S3E ApplianceLinc Outdoor Module 1 2634-222 ApplianceLinc Outdoor Module 2 1626-10 FilterLinc 1 2663-2 On/Off Outlet Update -------------------------- No longer available

They're all programmable but it's up to the vendor to give you maybe one or two updates in the life of the product. And it will certainly stay on the same minor SDK level, i.e. 7.14.X or 7.15.X which is what most are on. SiLabs releases every version of reference firmware, both standard and LR. Updates are every couple months. I'm on 7.16.3 right now which most 3rd party sticks will never see. The SiLabs stick can also have it's NVM fully backed up using the standard Z-Wave PC Controller software.
-
Highly doubt the serial interface is any different than the reference design from SiLabs. The nice thing about the Si stick is you can always get the latest & greatest firmware.
-
False positive. Don't believe it, don't use it. That version is also very old.

Looks like the panel needs to be programmed to not require the password for arming: Otherwise you could enable NodeLink's relay server, and send a command to it RAW_<PASS>2, where <PASS> is your 4 digit code.
-
Unfortunately I don't have a Honeywell to play with (I'm a DSC guy). NodeLink sends #2 to the panel for Arm Away and #3 for Arm Stay. Do those work when you enter them directly into the panel?
-
NodeLink can reboot the ISY from it's web interface or from a TCP command sent to it (relay server).

Zwave association does this as well, it works pretty well in 500/700.
-
That's fair. I have so few scenes that I don't really care about that aspect. The majority of my automation requires a controller regardless. I'm pretty happy with the Zen77s. I can see my 2477Ds hitting the marketplace soon.
-
The majority of your concerns have been minimized with 500/700 series. Z-Wave is now an open protocol (thanks SiLabs) and devices are certified. General behavior and classes need to match the protocol standard or they don't get certified. Additional OEM features can be added on top and exposed via parameters. A good Z-Wave controller handles all this and makes it look no different than Insteon to the user. Instability is much less with the range of 500 and even more so with 700. I have Zen77s in my pool shed 40' from my house and 100' from my controller, no issues. If you move the controller, run a "heal", done. My controller is in my basement without any issues at all. NWI makes placement a non-issue. If there are still concerns, run the USB controller to the center of your house with a USB extension cable. My network only has 22 devices and has zero signal issues. Where as my Insteon has 3 switches in the house that can't be controlled due to power line noise from appliances and pool equipment. I'm not in a rush to replace but I'll never buy another Insteon and if the Zen77s go on a Black Friday, it'll be a mass purchase.

- Not Insteon so no PLM or power line noise issues - Decent price - Trailing edge dimmer so no flicker issues and full % dimming - Customizable LED for notifications - Much shallower than Inovelli - Standard screw terminals to minimize marrettes - Z-Wave 700 - Tons of neat customizable firmware functions like night light - Good quality build, feels much more solid than Insteon
-
Can't tell ya how much I'm done with Insteon/Nokia. Zen77s only for me going forward.

So I received the parts, took apart my PLM (v2.1) and things don't quite match: C7 (100/50V): Actual is 100/35V, new cap much bigger diameter. C13 (100/50V): Actual is 100/35V, new cap much bigger diameter. C3 (10/400V): Actual is 8/250V, new cap is gigantic (1" long, 7/16" dia). I doubt it will fit. C8 (10/16V): OK C11 (100/25V): Specs match, new cap much bigger diameter. Is there a photo in the 25 pages of these things fitting?
-
Thanks Brian, FYI to all the Canucks. All the parts are also available (currently in stock) on digikey with cheaper price and shipping.
-
That would be great. My PLM is on the way out too. If I have to read 500 posts to get the parts list I'm just throwing Insteon in the garbage and buying 50 zen77s.

Zooz Zen32.

Works fine for me too but I find MyQ's cloud flakely. I replaced the cloud connection with a Zen17.

Schlage 469 Locks, Aeotec Gen5, 6 repeaters Z-Wave issues
io_guy replied to JTsao's topic in Z-Wave - Series 300/500
No it's not an ISY thing (that's why I mentioned waiting for the ISY to move to Polisy). I use Home Assistant for Z-Wave.
