Insteon HUB (2245) cloud servers shut down
Okay folks, quick q if I may: I found a 2245-222 in my Insteon stock. It was purchased as a bulk lot with other stuff, I powered it up but never configured it. What is the process for me to resell, I DON'T reset it (?), but it was not linked to me before. Powers up red solid LED.

Smarthome forum appears to be offline
Hi all, Late to this party as thankfully I am not a hub user. FWIW I thought something strange was going on as I was dealing with smarthome.com direct regarding a credit for a faulty Insteon product. After good communications they just went dead about 2 weeks ago. I think they've been laid off. I knew Insteon as a product line was dead in the water. The writing has been on the wall for a long time.... Anyway good luck to those that are sinking. I can recommend UD, they are a great company.

New to Fanlinc - Looking for a 'foolproof' configuration
Interesting you mention query. I have been trying with status or command the KPL, both of which failed. Thanks I will try to query the Fanlinc.

New to Fanlinc - Looking for a 'foolproof' configuration
Yes everything works correctly if you delay turning off from on (normal use) by a second or two. By design it functions. Should off be pressed too quickly the issue occurs. It is this issue I am trying to repair using ISY logic, to make it more foolproof.

New to Fanlinc - Looking for a 'foolproof' configuration
Turning on to any power level then off once more straight away, results in the KPL off light coming on but the fan on speed remains live even though the speed button light is no longer lit. You are required to function through on then off once more but in a slower manner. Once the KPL shows off, is there a way for the ISY to backup this information?

New to Fanlinc - Looking for a 'foolproof' configuration
Hi all, I've setup a Fanlinc+KPL for use in a guest environment as per the WiKi for v5 firmware. Everything works well, although, if buttons are pressed quickly from any speed back to off, the off is not actioned upon, even though ISY senses the button press, the scene (presumably in the KPL) did not. I've attempted using a program to override without success. Ideally I would like to continue to use scene programming for response speed rather than ISY direct control.

Serial PLM discontinued according to smarthome
I recently gleaned a used 2413U, so I think now I am comfortable with replacement PLM's. but over $200US for a used 2413S? Wow.

It's gone crackers I tell you...

Serial PLM discontinued according to smarthome
I have two sites with two live ISY's (two spare ISY's, one 'installed' and I power up every so often and restore latest config to. Two spare working 2413S's and 1 spare working 2412S and two dead 2412S's (keeping for possible cap fix or further investigation). Always on the lookout for more spares....?

Serial PLM discontinued according to smarthome
Thanks Brian. I figured that may be an issue. Was rather hoping the motherboard was pretty dumb.

May I ask, were you able to combine the USB 2412U PLM with a serial board from a 2413S?

2487S LED Brightness
....aaaaand of course nowhere has new stock in Canada. I hate the fact I've invested so much time, energy and $ into this infrastructure only for it to evaporate in front of my eyes.

2487S LED Brightness
Yes I know. I would most probably get away with it though. Alternatively should I buy a new 2487 from an authorized dealer would it be v45+?

2487S LED Brightness
MrBIll, Thank you I am quite proficient at that maneuver. ? The v44 relay only fires LED non dimmable spots outside. I was considering using a v45 dimmer then use the methods in reverse we discussed a short while ago to keep the output at max should a person fiddle with the buttons. A fudge but perhaps workable....

2487S LED Brightness
Thanks carealtor I appreciate your findings.

2487S LED Brightness
It's pretty bad if you want off to be 0. I don't visually like off set to 1. The dimmer has to be set to 3,0 to match, which works okay during the evenings but not so good during a bright day...

2487S LED Brightness
MrBill, Thank you for the confirmation! ? It's weird because upon setup from factory default or when in setup mode they are as bright as any other KPL, but as soon as you program them, they appear to reduce to around half brightness. That's why I thought there may be some magical work-around.

2487S LED Brightness
Wow, okay! Very nice of you to troubleshoot this. FYI I can duplicate the issue with another 2487S I have (same production cycle) so we can rule out a fault with an individual device.

2487S LED Brightness
Left is the trouble switch - 2487S - Admin console says - Relay v.44 Right is a 2334-2 dimmer - Admin console says - v.45 Both are set to 15,0 via a program

2487S LED Brightness
test LED - [ID 007F][Parent 0024] If - No Conditions - (To add one, press 'Schedule' or 'Condition') Then Set 'Hallway / KPL6 FrntDr - OUTSIDE' Backlight On 15 / Off 0 Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

2487S LED Brightness
Hi MrBill, Yes I am certain. Saved, run then. The backlight is not as bright as the dimmer by it's side running a similar program with the same 15,0 set. It must just be the KPL model itself.

2487S LED Brightness
Hi carealtor. Unfortunately I get the same behavior using a program as I do manually setting it. Out of interest I could not find a way to adjust using percentage, only On/Off levels. Is this due to running the latest v5 firmware? I did some trawling and found some past posts and threads of yours that I believe is the true issue I am facing, and that is one of mismatching devices and the way they respond:

2487S LED Brightness
One of these 2847S's is installed in a double receptacle box together with a 2334-2 KPL. I have to set the 2334-2 to 3,0 to match the maximum output of the 2847S which is set to 15,0 I know the 2847S is capable of bright LED's as after a factory reset, the button LED's are much brighter as you would expect them to be but as soon as you program them through the ISY, the LED's dim.
