I have a pretty big installation with Insteon at my house and running the latest official ISY version (4.2.30). Only recently I have a few switches not changing the Status when they are triggered on a scene. Here is the situation: When a scene is triggered ON and the actual device turns on the light but the status does not changed in ISY. So, if a program depends on the status change of the device, the program will not run. This happens when the device is not CONTROL to turn on, press the ON button on the device. For example, I press the F button on a keypad that is a scene with a SwitchLinc device, the F key and the device turn on but when I check the status on ISY, the SwitchLinc device shows OFF. Any programs depend on the status of ON with the SwitchLinc device do not get triggered. When I do a query on the SwitchLinc in ISY, it would detect and change the status to ON. Thanks. bktong

Michel, Got it fixed. It was my router that has gone bad. Replaced it and everything is back to normal for now. Will continue to check. Thanks, bktong

Michel, It is Windows 7 64 bit. It has always worked. I do not think it's the upgrade to 3.3.5. It was happening with 3.3.4 right before I upgraded. bktong

Version 3.3.5. Was on 3.3.4. Can't get the Admin Console to come up. The Java would try to up but after 10 minutes of turning, it finally comes out with an error where the Java logo is. Tried on different computers but same result. So, it's not the computer configuration. Perhaps it's the Java version (version 7) with the latest Firefox version (also version 7.0x). Everything else works on eKeyPad or MobiLinc. Rebooted the ISY multiple times, no help. Tried on IE and Firefox...Java keeps turning. Removed and reload Java (Java Development Toolkit 7.0.90.5 10.9.2.5) (Java Platform SE 7 U9 10.9.2.5). Please help!!!! I can't program anything. bktong

Michel, I will wait for the next crash and then I will send you both logs. I will leave ELK as is for now so that if it is ELK, you will see it in the logs. Thanks, bktong

Michel, Ok, it locked up again today (version 3.1.3 now) but the Error Log (pulldown from Tools tab) shows only entries from 5 hours ago. Since I have to do a hard boot, does it retain any memory right before it crashes? What log? bktong

I do not use any EZxx devices. You asked me to upgrade from 2.8.16 to 3.1.3, is there a known issue with 2.8.16 on freezes? Thanks. bktong
-
Michel, I knew about the ELK RP locks up ISY but I hardly use ELK RP. It sometimes happens in the middle of the night when everyone is asleep. I will upgrade to 3.1.3 and let you know. Thanks. bktong

All, I am sure this is not a new topic but I will ask anyway. I have been using my ISY for about a year now and in most cases, it's great until recently. I have been getting frequent lock up/freeze. I would have to do a hard boot to get it back. It happens about 1-3 times a month where I didn't see it that often before. I do have an ELK "linked" to the ISY. It's not due to rebooting ELK which I know causes ISY to freeze. Any ideas. I can't figure a pattern on when it happens. I'm running version v2.8.16. Thanks, bktong

I need help setting up ISY to use Hotmail to send out alerts. The Default works but it would be great if I can get hotmail to work. I have ISY version 2.8.8 and in the Configuration tab -> Settings/Groups SMTP Server : smtp.live.com SMTP Port : 25 or 587 USERID : xxxx@hotmail.com Password : xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx From : ISY Alert Timeout(ms) 1,000 Use TLS : checked I would get "Mail Server failure [Connection failed]" error. What should be the right settings? Thanks, bktong

I have a few scenes with motion detectors and SWLs. How can I disable a scene without having to remove the motion sensor from the scene. My situation is when I want to light to stay on and for the motion detector not turn the light off when no motion or timed out. I've tried disable each device within the scene but the motion still trigger on and off commands. I know I can put everything into a program and disable the program but programs are slower than scenes. Thanks, bktong

All, After months of exchanging out hardware and software upgrades, we have finally found the cause of the problem. It was due to either a bad PLM (2412S) or incompatibility of PLM version to the thermostat T1800 V2. I replaced with 2413S. Thanks for Michel and the UD team. I think we all have learned a lot from this experience. Now, I can get correct humidity reading every time. Thanks, Billy

All, FYI. I have been working with Michel offline for the past few days. I granted him access to my ISY. We have determined that my PLM is NOT sending acknowledgment when a manual query is issued. This only happens when the Thermostat Mode is on Program Auto or Auto. For the rest of the other modes such as Off, Cool, or Heat, manual query is fine and the PLM is able to get the correct acknowledgments. I will replace my PLM 2412S and of course will do more testing. Billy

Michel, The new thermostat came today and swapped it out. Guess what...same results with the Humidity reading on ISY. Still think it is one of the hardware? I even took the Humidity Module out of the thermostat and put the jumper to 'No Hum' on the thermostat but ISY still shows 2x of the A/C setpoint. Michel, what jumper settings do you have on your test thermostat for MISC1,2,3, humidity jumper, gas fan, O/B, HP/Gas? Thanks, Billy
-
All, So much for the new Humidity module. Another failure. I guess it's on to replacing the thermostat. After that, I will give up if it doesn't fix it. BTW, I have a hard time believing the thermostat is generating a wrong reading when everything else with the thermostat is working perfectly. Perhaps after I exchanged the thermostat out and still not working, can I swap the dongle and the thermostat with yours, Michel, since yours are working. Billy

Continued to test with both new and old dongles for the past few days. Same results. I have ordered another humidity module. That's the next device I will replace to try to solve this problem. And then the thermostat itself if the new humidity module does not work correctly. I can replace all the parts but one thing I can't replace/fix is the ISY code if this causing the problem. Since the temperature reading and the humidity reading is always equal to each other, I still think it may be ISY. Thanks. Billy

Tim, No worries. I just want to have it working correctly instead everyone wasting hours trying to get it working. I hope UD will have it fixed and everyone can take full advantage of the MS. Billy

Rand and Lee, Got the new replacement dongle (2441V) today and replaced the old one. Still the same issue. Like you said in the other post, everything is X2. I notice the humidity is exactly double the cool point setting. For example, the set point for cool is set to 79c and that's why I kept getting humidity reading of 158%. Any thoughts? Thanks. Billy

Michel and Lee, So, I am not crazy that the MS with jumper 3 & 5 set is not working ? I should stop testing, right? Would it (darkness setting) work correctly if I leave jumper 3 off? When will 2.8.3 be out? Thanks. Billy
-
LeeG, Thanks, for V2 MS, I will leave jumper 5 off and use the pots. I also have V1 MS. Do I set those with higher setting in ISY (for example, 250 if I want fairly dark before triggering ON)? V1's jumper 5 is not functional, right? Then the darkness setting works with V1? Thanks, Billy
-
My is a V2. Billy
-
Tim, That's what I had hoped UD would confirm. 1. knob turning clockwise is equivalent to decreasing or increasing in ISY? 2. I want pretty dark before the sensor trigger On. Thanks. Billy
-
Tim, So, you have a jumper on pin # 5? If 0 never reported as dark, then 255 is always dark. I, too, have set it to zero. It seems to response to 0 and 255 but nothing in between. I got up to 225 and I would think that should only trigger when it's pretty dark...Nop. Should I go higher? Billy
-
Michel, I'm not complaining but want to help to make the UD products better. And it's fine if the motion sensor darkness setting is not compatible with ISY; I'll just use the knob. Just want to confirm either way so I and others don't spend many hours playing with the ISY darkness adjustment. I would think UD wants to better its products as I do. That's the reason I asked the questions in my first post. Thanks. Billy

Rand, I get the correct temp reading every time when I do Query. Billy
