  1. Ok, then maybe I don't even need an ISY. Is the Alfred lock cloud based?
  2. Long time UD user here. I am buying a property (house) that we intend to use occasionally and I'd like to use a 994 to automate and allow remote control and was wondering about the latest advances in devices. I'd like a front door lock that I can remotely control. If I could remotely change the entry code that would be even better. Also, I'd like to control the thermostat. What's the latest technology in these areas? Money isn't really the object, I want the most reliable products since I'll be in a different state and can't really travel at a moment's notice. TIA!
  3. My car has a feature that automatically engages Homelink within a certain distance to my home. I have a program on my ISY that does multiple things and I currently use my phone to activate this program through Mobilinc but I have to open the phone and open the Mobilinc app then press the program button. I'd like to have the car run this program automatically. BTW, the car is a Tesla and I'm also trying to figure out if I can accomplish the same thing through a node.
  4. This is going to be difficult to describe but here's what I'm hoping to do. My car has a programmable Homelink button (like most new cars) and I can program it to open common garage doors. Instead if it opening a garage door though, I want it to trigger a program within the ISY. IOW, when I arrive home and activate the "garage door opener" in my car, instead of a garage door responding, a program within the ISY runs. Is this possible and if so, what do I need? Thanks!!
  5. I cannot figure out how to add "Query All" back to the Then statement. What type of command is Query All listed under?
  6. After I upgraded from 4.8.0, I had to "Save Changes" in my programs and the Query All command is missing the "Then" instructions. Should I fix the Query All?
  7. I've been using a SwitchLinc 220V - INSTEON Remote Control 220V Switch Kit in Weatherproof Enclosure for a few years to control my pool pump but it isn't responsive anymore. When I tried to purchase a replacement, I couldn't find any high voltage product to use with my system. Is there anything available to control my pool pump through ISY?
  8. I'd like to add video to my home security system but want it to integrate with ISY. It would need to be wifi and store video both locally and in the cloud on a looping basis. What are my options? I know this is an open question but I don't want to spend an enormous amount of money just to find out it really isn't my best option. Thanks for your input.
  9. Thanks! I deleted the old location and had it search me out and magically it's back!!!
  10. I haven't been active in a while but all of my HVAC thermostats are conditional based on outside temperature and my weather module is saying 0 degrees even though it's about 80!!
  11. I figured out the z wave issue as well. Turns out you have to remove the device before you can add it. Thanks! I'm back up and running perfectly!
  12. I do have a separate issue now. It seems my Z-wave network is no longer working. How would I rebuild it? It's only 3 devices so it should be very easy but when I look for existing devices, none are found and when I try to add devices, it won't "see" them.
  13. Thanks, I figured it out. As Brian stated, I had to update the UUID with Mobilinc but I also had to re-purchase the portal module. Everything is perfect now. I did notice one weird thing though, when I restored my ISY programming, I got an error message about not being able to complete it (I don't remember the exact error) but it seems to work just fine.
  14. As the title says, I replaced my 994 with an identical unit and then restored the latest backup. Everything looks good. Even the IP address is set correctly and from within the admin console, everything seems to work. However, my MobiLinc app cannot connect. Is there something else I need to check? Thanks, Mitch
  15. Hi, I live in south east Florida and probably will lose power due to Irma. I have a whole house generator but don't want any programs to run. What is my best option. Should I just unplug the ISY and the PLM or can I just program something that bypasses all programming? Thanks!
  16. The three lights on the front panel stay lit even when the ISY is off the grid. I think it's toast. I've ordered a replacement and if that works, then I'll send this unit back for repairs and keep it as a spare. Thanks!
  17. Ever since an electrical storm last night, I can't communicate with my ISY 994i. Is it possible that it is damaged? Nothing else in the computer cabinet was damaged and the ISY is plugged into a surge protector. All three blue lights are on solid. No other lights. The back LAN connector has one solid green and the other is blinking (not really blinking buy quick sporadic flashing). I can't connect to it at all. Should I order a replacement? How can I reset it?

    New to Z wave

Perhaps I need to move the 994? It is mounted in my telephone closet that contains also the network switches including the AT&T gateway which has wifi. The 994 is about 6" from the wifi unit. The z-wave signal from the 994 goes about 6" as well. I tried to link an Aeon device and had to mount it in the closet in order for the network to see it. Could that be the issue?

    New to Z wave

Since you all have more experience, how far will a repeater be able to reliably communicate? Will I get 20-30' with no walls in the way? Will the repeater be able to hear the 994 from 10'? Sorry for all the questions, but I'm so new to this technology that I need to get up to speed quickly! Thanks

    New to Z wave

I'm assuming z-wave travels through air and not wiring. Is there an antenna I can put on the 994?

    New to Z wave

How about the Aeon repeater? Will that work?

    New to Z wave

I've been a user for many years but I just installed my first Z-wave device. I installed the Z-wave board into my 994 successfully and was able to add the door lock successfully and it shows up in the admin console (I followed the wiki article). Problem is, when I linked it, I was about a foot away from the 994. Now that it is installed, it is about 30 feet from the 994 and I've lost communication. Am I missing something simple? Thanks, Mitch
  23. Hi. I have been using MiLocks deadbolt with the Insteon transmitter (sorry, I can't remember the unit number). I've always had an issue with the lock mechanism not always fully unlocking and so would have to lock and unlock until the bolt fully cleared the door. What are my options at replacing this unit with a more reliable unit that communicates with my 994? Thanks, Mitch
  24. Thanks for the replies. The horn is actually a speaker and it is mounted in the main family room. The alarm panel is located elsewhere. I was thinking there was a device that I could install inline with the alarm's power that would filter out the Insteon traffic. I'm sure the installation is suspect but it would require a lot of labor to reinstall the alarm (unless I relocate the speaker to where the alarm panel is mounted). I assume you don't want the alarm speaker next to the alarm panel as that would let the intruder know where the panel is located?
  25. I've noticed my alarm siren horn clicks randomly all the time. I've narrowed it down to the "bursts" of information being communicated between the ISY and my devices. Is there a filter that I can install on my alarm that will filter out these? Thanks
