Where would I find information about refitting my access gate electronics? I want to rebuild my electronics so it is more reliable and Insteon compatible. I can't seem to find much information about how these gates work. Is there a forum or website with educational info on how to design and build the electronics to control gate arms?

There are no programs that contain any of the Low Voltage outletlincs. I use them in Scenes only. I didn't turn that Scene on or off in the previous 24 hours. I suspect it was off but reported incorrectly.
-
I didn't think this was possible! I opened my admin console and saw that an outlet linc has a status of 76%! I pulled up the log and here it is: How is that possible?

I think you would have to visit the site to add the devices to the ISY/PLM. Then I would think you could take the ISY/PLM to a different site and program all your Scenes and Programs (with batch mode off). I'm sure you will get a lot of error messages which you would ignore. Then when you return to the home, you would just plug in the PLM/ISY and turn on batch mode. Of course you can't really test anything out when you're programming off site.

Looking at the above programs, if I press ir_19 and begin the Off program and then 5 minutes later press ir_20 to run the On program it will stop the Off program. The next time I press ir_19 will it begin at the beginning of the Then statement or will it pick up where it left off?

I have two programs to turn on and off my theater's ISY controlled devices. If I run the Then section of theater off, it runs for about 20 minutes. If I decide to turn back on the theater during that 20 minutes, I want to stop the off program from running so the on program can run. If I add a line to Stop the off program, will the off program run in entirety the next time I activate it? Here are the programs I wrote: Theater ON Theater OFF

The one's that work are v.38. I wish there were a way to do a firmware update but oh well, I can live with what I have.

I wrote the following program to increase the reliability of turning of all the receptacles in my theater until I have the time to trouble shoot for the culprit. It seems that one of the receptacles always times out for some reason. I decided to use a repeat in the commands. My question is does the repeat work on the previous commands and then run the remainder of the program? It would seem that is the way it works but please give any feedback. The program:

I have a water pump to increase the pressure for the master shower. I only want it to be running when someone is taking a shower. I decided to have the pump come on if two conditions are met. One, the shower light has to be on and two, a motion sensor has to be activated. To that end, I wrote the following program: Because my wife tends to leave the lights on, I also wrote the following program to turn off the shower light: I set the timeout for the motion sensor to 8.5 minutes. I'm assuming that means that the sensor will send an off signal if no motion is detected in 8.5 minutes which should be sufficient. Does this look right?

I've tried many times to get most of my SWL's to dim the LED with no success. I have had three work and they were very important (bedroom). But I am trying now to change the LED brightness of one of my SWL's and nothing happens. It is v.37 in the admin panel. I've tried 0,1,5 and nothing happens.

In my theater's equipment room, I have a fan that helps cool the rack. The fan is controlled by a lamplinc. I want the fan to turn on when I turn the theater on and turn off an hour after I turn the theater off. I wrote what I thought would work, and it did until I found a glitch last night. About 30 minutes after I turned off the theater, I turned it back on. What I didn't realize is that because of the wait line in the off program, it was still running too! So I wrote this instead: To turn the theater On Then to turn it Off: Will this logic work?

I am using Norton 360 firewall. Thanks. I can't see how this would be a router issue, maybe a setup issue in my network. I'm not a computer savvy user, but I do have a little knowlege (which can be dangerous!). If you have any suggestions about how to set my firewall to give the ISY full access, please let me know. Thanks again, Mitch

I do have an DSC system. Can you describe how you did it? I didn't install the system so I don't really know much about it.

As much as I would like to think that the Mobilinc is the problem, I have to post what happened when I tested my local network. Tonight, I was at my desktop computer which is connected to my network by LAN. I opened my admin console, then went in to Manage my Certificates, and then created and saved a self generated certificate (because I changed from Tzo.com to Dyndns.org for my static ip service). When I reopened my admin console after the ISY rebooted, I saw this in the log: for about 200 lines. I guess I need a new router! The care that I took to be sure the ISY has as good a connection to my network rules out that path. I have the ISY mounted in my structured cabinet right next to the router. I am using a Netgear DGND3300. Does anyone know of any issues with this router?

This piqued my interest. Would you mind elaborating on this? Is this because of your specific needs or an issue with Elk systems in general? The only reason I would have to change my system to ELK would be to have iPhone/internet access. When you put your security system on line it exposes you. Some things are better left an island.
-
Wow, you guys are awesome! Thanks so much for taking the time to consider my issue. For now, I will wait until my iPhone is awake and stable before attempting to launch Mobilinc. Thanks again!

Has there been any luck lately? I was thinking that I could use this to monitor the status of my alarm system, and trigger scenes based on status.
-
Is there a module that I can install to monitor whether my house alarm system armed away, armed home or unarmed? For security reasons, I am avoiding installing an ELK system (plus I already have a very nice system). I'm thinking some sort of low voltage sensor?

Thanks Michel. I did a very short test this morning and didn't receive any -5011 errors. I did get the obligitory three -5012 errors which aren't any problem (and are common when I close the app). If I don't get any -5011 errors this weekend when I test locally, I can assume it is my ISP or DynDNS that is the culprit. Seeing how so many users here use DynDNS, I doubt they are implicated. Thanks for all the help!

I only have one Mobilinc Pro app. I use the Mobilinc both locally and via web. I almost never let the Mobilinc sleep. The only other client is the admin console. Now that I'm on the hunt for how Mobilinc causes errors, I found this morning, I tried to connect to my ISY from my iPhone using Mobilinc and it wouldn't connect so I exited the app and then restarted it which was sucessful. Then I went to the log to see what happened and here's what I saw: Where it starts: and where it ends: As you can see, it lasted a full minute and wrote 2351 lines!! It also starts with three -5012 errors and ends with three -5012 errors which is probably the handshake of the Mobilinc (I'm guessing here). I think the Mobilinc tried to connect and then hung up while the ISY was trying to send info. If I implied that this was a bug of the ISY, I appologize. I never meant to implicate the ISY, I assumed it was a network issue on my end. Now I realize it probably is a network issue related to the communication between the ISY and the Mobilinc and can be anywhere between my router to the Mobilinc and everything in between including my ISP, At&T's network and finally my iPhone. Tonight I hope to test for local iPhone connection errors. If I don't get any errors when I connect locally, I remove my router, Mobilinc and my iPhone from the problem list and that leaves my ISP and my DYNDNS service as the only remaining variables. Thanks for all your help. I will get this resolved somehow.

Michel, I'm sure you are right. The -5011 errors are preceded by three -5012 errors. How can I find out why there were so many errors? I've spoken with the developer of Mobilinc and understand why these errors are somewhat unavoidable, and I don't really mind a few showing up but a couple thousand tells me that something is hanging. If this is basically unfixable since I need my iPhone connection, is it a big problem or can I just live with it?
-
BTW, it began at 6:03:18 pm and ended at 6:03:50 PM
-
So I really thought I was getting these -5011 errors from my climate module but I turned it off and am still getting these annoying errors. In fact, yesterday I logged 2727 lines of -5011 errors in 30 seconds. I don't know if this affects anything in my network but it sure looks like something is bogging down. Can someone help me devise a plan to find and eliminate this? Either that or tell me it is normal!!

Early this morning, one of the lights in my theater turned itself on. It happened at 3:00:26. According to the log, it was a System command. The interesting thing is the Switchlinc that controls that particular light is a controller for every other light in the theater but none of those lights were on so it couldn't be that someone or the switch inadvertantly sent the command. I was thinking that maybe my theater's remote sent the command but because I am re-arranging my theater, the remote system is not active. How would I go about trouble shooting this?
