  1. Thank you both for your assistance. Much appreciated.
  2. The steps outlined below worked perfectly to configure email notifications from my IoP. However, when I followed this process to configure my wife's email settings to the User Group so that both of us are notified of a leak, she does not receive notification but I still do. The notification I receive shows its from her gmail account and sent to me. What did I do wrong? Configuring gmail Account Optional: Configuring (unique) App Password (required If you have e 2-Step Verification turned on) Go to Account from the Google apps list of apps Click on Security in the list on the left and scroll down to App passwords Click on Select App and Select Other (Custom Name) Enter ISY (or any other identifier) Click on Generate This will create a unique 16 character password, save it and use it below instead of the primary account password. Configuring for Use with gmail Make sure you have configured your gmail Account (see above) Go to Admin Console | Configuration tab | Emails/Notifications Under SMTP Settings ensure Use Default is Not checked For SMTP Server enter smtp.gmail.com For SMTP Port enter 587 For User ID enter the username associated with your gmail account (e.g. abc@gmail.com) For Password enter the 16 character password you just generated for the ISY Account For From you can leave it blank. If your service allows it, you can add a display name ensuring the format follows First-Name Last-Name:Email-Address" Make sure TLS is checked For timeout, 5000 (or more) Click on the Save button Test
  3. Wow!!! Thank you so much. I would swear that was a Zero which is the way I tried to link it. Thanks for solving this problem. Much appreciated!
  4. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what I have been doing.
  5. Yes. It changed the 0 (zero) to D. I noticed years ago that Insteons font choice could be improved. It clearly looks like a Zero or letter O.
  6. Yes. Actually I factory reset 3 times since I made over 40 attempts to link this device. Thank you for the warning re: battery and hardwired devices. I plan to do weekly tests for at least a couple of months to determine future action if needed. The device ID has a Zero, but also tried 8. I also thought the device may be a 2458 instead of 2450. Nothing worked. I also tried auto discover and nothing. I don’t believe I have ever put this much effort into linking a device.
  7. After 3 hours of failure yesterday and 8 hours of sleep last night, I had to try one more time. So far, I have tried: 1. New Insteon Device 2. Link a ControlLinc 3. Start Linking The 2450 was plugged into the same extension cord as the ISY and none of the above worked. No other options seemed viable until I saw “Link a Sensor / Open-Close Sensor”. It worked, but I am cautiously excited until I hear back from the Pros in this forum. It wasn’t set up as a device, but as 2 functions - sensor and relay. What is strange is that it changed the devices ID number but it still turns on and off in ISY. Now I have to read how to link a water leak sensor to this device, if it’s possible. All suggestions welcomed.
  8. Thank you for the heads up, but I have an update in my next post.
  9. Thanks Brian. I already tried that and unfortunately did not work.
  10. Dated Jan 2018. I do realize zwave is an option, but was hoping for a solution that would integrate with the Insteon water leak sensors.
  11. Manually typing the Insteon ID and confirmed using the correct ID. “Cannot determine Insteon engine” is the error message received. I have followed the factory reset guidelines multiple times. I even plugged the 2450 into the same outlet as the IoP and closed the door to maximize signal. Worth noting is that this is the only device I have that is not dual band and I am using the Insteon USB Dongle.
  12. I have been able to link 29 of my 30 devices with barely an issue, but I had a premonition that I should leave my 2450 I/O linc device until last...and I did. 3 hours trying everyone's online advice from plugging in to same outlet as the ISY, plugging in a dual-band device into the I/O Linc, trying Link Mgmt/Control Linc and adding 2450 or Discover Device and nothing is working after 3 hours of trying. A few weeks ago when I was still using our Hub, we had our first water leak and the sensor did its job to warn us and triggered the electronic shut-off to shut down the water to our house. I know its possible that the device is worn out, but I just think its unlikely. FYI - Both phases of our electrical is bridged and I have not seen any device communication issues with our new IoP installed 4 days ago. I also cleared my Java Cache and performed a soft re-boot of my IoP. What am I missing? Also, what would be an alternative? Zwave?
  13. Hi @TekenI have to admit, for a non-techie like me, the greater the detail the greater chance of my success following it. I also worry about the many new ISY users who may find it difficult to just schedule a light to turn on/off. The resources are immense, but a bit scattered and language needs updating. All that aside, I’m loving it!!! ?
  14. @Bumbershoot - So, you agree with the article I attached for setting up my leak sensors?
  15. Insteon leak sensors
  16. I am a new IoP owner with all Insteon devices. Basic programming has gone well with all of my devices, but now getting ready to set up my leak sensors. I found this article from 2019, so I wanted to reach out to the ISY pro’s to confirm this is the best way to go for setting up the leak detectors. Appreciate all comments in lay terms for us non-geeks. Thanks!
  17. I also plan to use the ISY portal for the same reasons.
  18. Thanks for confirming. My thought was that not everybody wants the ISY Portal subscription, so they Port Forward for remote access.
  19. This past week, I have been reading as much info as possible in preparation for the installation of IoP….which should be delivered tomorrow. Yay! There is a section and video about Port Forwarding, but can someone confirm this is not needed if you subscribe to the ISY Portal? I am not an IT guy, but isn’t port forwarding used if you aren’t interested in a cloud service? The only time I recall setting up Port Forwarding is before Insteon offered the Hub 10 years ago.
  20. I am also new to Polisy and this forum and you are correct. Many knowledgeable people who care enough to help us. I know I’ll need it when the new controller arrives. Can’t wait!
  21. @Geddy - Thanks for clarifying the part about factory resetting all Insteon devices before migrating from Hub to Polisy. I’ve been reading the wiki, customer installation notes etc and this forum and I still was not aware you had to reset each device….something I’m not looking forward to, but easy to do. I’ll be practicing with the least important devices first for practice before the “great migration”.
  22. Some help in factory resetting Insteon devices. https://www.insteon.com/support-knowledgebase/2016/2/24/factory-resetting-insteon-hub
  23. The company that Rob is now on the Board of is ISOutsourcing based in Seattle. Not sure what company you’re referring to in Virginia.
