Okay, what is happening is that Alexa still has some other old stuff in there. For a couple of commands, she says I have multiple ones. Which one do you want? The only thing I have that could be would be old scenes that I can't get to in Alexa app anymore to delete. I have everything deleted and done in portal. So, you are not familiar with the scenes that used to be in the Alexa app?
-
I understand that. I still have to go in and delete some scenes. I deleted them in portal, but Alexa is not deleting them in Alexa.
-
I know about the isy portal. I mean the Alexa app. In there if you are working with scenes and devices, Alexa has been pretty bad about deleting them etc. I need to find the scenes in Alexa. I can find devices, but not scenes.
-
I can't find scenes in Alexa anymore. What am I doing wrong? Why can't I find them? I need to delete some scenes that appear to have duplicates when I ask her. I have tried on Android, iPad, and Windows 10. None give me and option for scenes. I'm sure it is an easy fix. I just don't know how to fix it.

Now, I have a little different question on the keypad. I have the programs working when I push the button, but when I have Alexa turn them on, they don't turn off. What do I need to add to get the buttons and fan to turn off when I tell Alexa to turn on the fan? I say, Alexa, turn on 5-minute fan. It turns on but it never turns off.

Yeah. I did all that and it fixed the issue. I replaced the office switch, which was an old Insteon switch anyway. I made sure it didn't link to anything. That didn't solve the problem. I took the office switch out of a scene it needed to be in, and the problem went away. So, I realized the problem was in a scene on another keypad and one of the links was causing it. I did as you suggested above, and did a factory reset of the keypad in the bathroom, the keypad that was causing the problem because that is the keypad that the office was tied to, and I reset the office switch. After I reset them all, I did a restore, and the problem was gone. I don't know why after installing the new keypad, this problem would arise because it was not there before. It was good for me to try to do some problem-solving.
-
Well, I seem to have solved it. I had figured it had something to do with a scene and you verified it, but I had to trace which switch was causing it. I had tried to reset the switches before, but I did it one more time. I left the power off to them a little bit longer, then pushed the button a little bit longer after the beep stopped. I did it to three of my switches after tracing the numbers. It now seems to work properly. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, I wasn't descriptive enough. That can make a difference when telling people. I am that way sometimes.
-
Where you pull the plastic little button at the bottom of the switch out and let it be off for several seconds. Or is that called something else?
-
Well, I did a reset at the switch, and then did a restore. It now shows that it succeeds. BUT it still shuts off the office lights. I just don't know what is going on.
-
Do a restore from the isy or from the switch itself.?
-
I just noticed that when I do a diagnostic scene test It comes back as failed for these 2 buttons. The other buttons come back as succeeded. The 10 and 15 min buttons fail. Notice where it says failed, all the other buttons had succeeded. Bathroom D Fan 15 minutes says fail. When I do it for a Bathroom Fan 5 minutes it says succeeded where it says failed below.

The light check is a button on my bedroom KPL that I have used for years to see if any lights were left on in the basement. If so, we just pushed the button and turned them off. The only thing in the programs are the actual switches themselves, but most are somehow tied to a scene. I thought it may have been the light check, but I disabled the programs, and the problem still happened. It is so weird that it only happens to the 2 buttons. the 10 and 15 min buttons are the only ones that cause the issue. I even changed out the office switch. It was an old Insteon switch that needed to be changed out anyway. The problem still happened.
-
Well, I seem to have a weird issue now. It is only being affected from 2 of the buttons. The 10 min and 15 min. buttons are the only ones that cause the issue. The issue is when the 10 minute timer button finishes its cycle, it shuts off, but it also shuts off the lights in my office. The 15 minutes timer button also does the same thing. None of the other buttons do that. I wonder what is going and causing this???
-
I have found out what is causing the issue. I just setup a new fan timer using a 2334 8-button keypadlinc that takes the place of a failed Insteon 8-button actual timer. I have 8 scenes with 7 programs. I was helped by an isy/insteon expert. Well, what is happening is somehow coming from the switch. It happens with only 2 of the buttons. After the 10 min or 15 min go through their time limit, they shut off. When they shut off, they shut off the office lights. Now, I have to figure out WHY???????????
-
It looks like it was doing a basement light check from the logs at that time. I don't know why that time, but that is when it appears to be doing it. I did a restore to see if maybe that will help. Only time will tell I guess. We'll see if it happens again.

It is a switchlinc dimmer 2476D v.27. I am using the isy994i with firmware 5.3.4 and UI 5.3.4 I don't know about the other stuff. I'll try the restore device and see if that will make a difference. It has only happened twice that I know of, and it not a real big deal, I'm just curious is all.

The other day I was sitting in my office when all of a sudden the ceiling lights just went off. I have a program in my bedroom that works with my 8 keypadlinc that gives me the option of checking to see if any lights are on anywhere in the house, and I can turn them off. I thought maybe my wife had done it to me, but she had not. Today, I was sitting in the office and the same thing happened again. My wife was in there with me so I know she didn't do it. I'm baffled as to what is happening. It's not a big deal, but I would like to know what is causing this. How can I do this?
-
Got it. If I'd read your directions better it would help. I have used the scene like you said, and now it seems to be working. Thanks for your help.

Okay. I have them all on, and have used the toggle method. The only thing is that I have to push the OFF button twice to get the light to go off on the button. What did I do wrong? Also, my 2 min button, which is the main native button on the switch is not working. I don't know what I did, but it was working and now it quit. I'll have to check all the other things to see what I did wrong. Update: on the 2 min button, the problem was when I did the toggle settings, it set the 2 min button to off, and I didn't see it. I switched it so it is now only toggle, and it turns on and off like it it should. I still haven't found a way to get the OFF button to turn it off with 1 push.
-
Okay, I have all the other buttons in the OFF scene. Do I turn them all off in the scene like I did with the other 7 scenes? Where you said to go in and make sure each one is set to the off setting instead of the on?
-
So, scenes are better than programs? Was there a way to make my OFF button control the other buttons by turning off any of those buttons, plus their backlight and the OFF button backlight too? I couldn't find a way other than a program. Copying would have helped, that's for sure. But I think it was good practice for me to do all of that. I forgot about the part where I could pause the changes. Well, it is what it is. It's all about learning.

You could have done it in 5 minutes. Thanks for that, rubbing it in. 😜🤪 All the switches in my home are Insteon. I have a very simple setup, but I can almost guarantee you that in my small town of 5,000 people, I'm the only person that has a setup as complicated as I have. It is simple, but to everyone else, it is complicated. To you, it would be simple, and I'm sure you could do so much more than what I am doing. I do have a couple of neat things I've done. On my 8-key switch in my bedroom, I have 4 of the buttons set to be able to turn off other places in the house if we forget to turn anything off. That way we don't have to go downstairs or to the other room to do it. I guess if I took the time to research more, I could find more cool things to do with the keypads. Maybe I could get more keypads down the road if so. Do you know where I could find a list of cool things to look at and maybe try? Again, thank you so much for taking YOUR TIME to help me out.

So, how much better is the eisy over my isy994i? What can I do with the eisy, that I can't do with the 994? Thanks.
