Baby steps for adding Schlage FE469 to Z-wave network
I've just installed the z-wave circuit board into the ISY994i, and installed the UI module in the ISY. My first question is, how do I know if the z-wave network is working on the ISY ? When I go to add the lock, do I just follow the lock procedure, or do I setup through the ISY somehow ? I have read that it's not a bad idea to perform a factory reset on the lock as the first step. Thanks in advance

Help, I just noticed my weather module is not working
The UI is running 4.6.2 but the Firmware is 4.3.18. Where do I go for updating the firmware ?

Help, I just noticed my weather module is not working
All the data fields have the value of zero. The weather station isy is supposed to be connected to is working, but I'm not getting any data. Please advise what I should be checking. I has worked for several years. Thanks in advance.

How to replace Morning Industries door lock controller on Isy
I spent some time and figured out that the little yellow arrows were representing a triggerlinc 2421. My plan was to install a deadbolt detector inside the door jam. I could then use the detection of dead bolt to trigger other device actions using a scene. Unfortunately the old lock controller 2458A1 would not allow me to replace with the new 2862-222 lock controller, so I just deleted it. I guess ISY wasn't smart enough to know that they were the same thing, or maybe a newer version of ISY than I have would have worked smoother. Thanks for your help, it got me thinking

How to replace Morning Industries door lock controller on Isy
Well I'm very confused still. I finally found a "replace" command when right clicking on the two right facing yellow arrow entries, but the suggested devices are not appropriate. I have forgotten what the right facing yellow arrow entries represent, I certainly did not create any new ones when I created a new door lock device. All I get is two door icons (small brown rectangles) labelled open & closed. Sorry for being so confused but I haven't had any ISY exposure for years and I'm struggling.

How to replace Morning Industries door lock controller on Isy
Thanks for the quick response. l told ISY I had a new device and it found the new lock controller at the correct address. I'm lost about where to find the replace command, however, which is supposed to replace the existing old lock configuration. Also The old lock had a right pointing arrow labelled Door Status -Open & Door Status-Closed

How to replace Morning Industries door lock controller on Isy
My Morning Industries key pad on my front door deadbolt has worn out, and the Insteon lock controller is dead. How do I proceed with removing the old units and adding new units to ISY.

Need help with a timer program controlling an insteon outlet
I have a program that controls an outlet to be "on" for 2 hours then "off" for a minute then "on" again for 2 hours etc. If $Allow_to_Run is 1 Then Repeat Every 1 minute Set 'Outlet' On Wait 2 hours Set 'Outlet' Off Else (blank) I would like to enhance the program to only do this 4 times and then set the outlet "off" for 16 hours, then repeat the 2 hour "on/off" cycle again. Thanks in advance for your help

Is there a smarter way to write this timing function ?
The program turns an appliance on at 9 pm and turns it off at 9 am. It works but just wondering if there's a more efficient way ?

Is there a smarter way to write this timing function ?
No trouble with it working, just wondering if the program could be more efficient. I'm also wondering what the WAIT 1 minute was doing. Sounds like it could run without it. I'll give it a try.

Is there a smarter way to write this timing function ?
I can't remember where I got this idea, but wondering if it is processor intensive ? See attached. Basic Timer.txt

I need some help writing a simple timer
Yes I think I got it, thank you. I never thought the REPEAT EVERY x MINUTES process would be so hard. The REPEAT FOR x TIMES process is very clear and I built it correctly at first try.

I need some help writing a simple timer
I'm sorry, but this is just too hard for me to understand. I can get the repeat command to work by specifying the number of repeats to perform. Thanks for the offers of help.

I need some help writing a simple timer
The Repeat command looks good, but I sure can't get it to work. I've attached the program I'm using. The outlet comes ON and then goes OFF okay, but seems to get stuck on OFF because it won't come back ON again. Repeat Command.txt

I need some help writing a simple timer
I would like to turn a Insteon outlet on for 30 minutes, then off for 5 minutes, then repeat for the duration of the day.

Learning how to use "Control" command
Well this was quite a learning session for me. I would never have guessed that a Togglelinc on/off switch can remotely control a dimmer switch. They sure pack a lot of features into those units. Certainly explains why the responding Togglelinc didn't do anything. Thanks for explaining

Learning how to use "Control" command
I've attached the communications event log comparing the two ways of operating the toggle switch on the 2466sw isyforum.txt

Learning how to use "Control" command
Good news, I got it working. It turns out it was the fault of the toggle switch operator (me). I was not operating the toggle switch properly. I was momentarily holding the toggle switch at the end of it's toggle range, which causes the switch to get mixed up. Holding the toggle lever temporarily has never caused problems before, because I haven't implemented multi-way switching before. I wish to thank everyone for participating, and convincing me to rig up a test bed to investigate the problem. I also apologize for taking so much of your time. At least someone may benefit from my learning about 2466sw switches. Flick the switch, don't hold it.

Learning how to use "Control" command
I am quoting from page 56 Section 17.(d) Outlet Boxes, Outlets Per Circuit (Rule 8-304), Ontario Book 1 2009 to 2011 Electrical Code Simplified, House Wiring Guide.

Learning how to use "Control" command
Well I finally got around to building a test rig. I wired it up conventionally with power to both 2466sw and only one light on the red wire of one of the 2466sw (I call it the primary switch). I then did a factory reset on both switches and then manually set each switch as controller of the other. To my surprise the secondary switch didn't operate the light unless I executed a quick double toggle. I confirmed that this double toggle also works well on the switches installed in the Back Porch and Garage and configured by ISY, which are on separate circuits. Obviously not a desired outcome. Any suggestions ?

Restore PLM question with Morning Ind. door lock
I have no idea what you're doing with that very long post but your suggestion to use Start Linking worked very well. I have never used the Start Linking approach, always preferring the Add Insteon Device route. For some reason Add Insteon Device did not play well this time. Thank you

Restore PLM question with Morning Ind. door lock
Well I'm stuck unfortunately. The Morninglinc still talks with the lock when I push the set button, which is good. I removed the Morninglinc device from ISY, but I can't add the device back in because ISY can't determine the Insteon engine. I'm using the older 2458A1 Morninglinc.

Restore PLM question with Morning Ind. door lock
The restore went well, I even got a door sensor working by put it in linking mode (hold set button for several seconds) and then Updating devices in Admin Console. What I can't do is get the lock into linking mode. I do have a Morninglinc, so should I be holding the set button on the Morninglinc. This probably makes sense because I believe ISY is only able to see the Insteon module, not the lock itself. Just don't want to make any mistakes. The door lock is still fully functional so I'm hoping nothing too drastic is required.
