Hello DEHAlten, Unfortunately this is not possible right now. The only thing you can do is to send yourself a notification at the end of the query. With kind regards, Michel

Help with transition from non UPNP enabled router.
Hello mjtyson, It's always best to do manual port forwarding in the router (do NOT use File | Enable Internet Access). The reason is that if a) your router is rebooted or if your ISP changes the IP, then you won't be able to access ISY. ( does not apply to you since you already have a dynamic DNS account but (a) does happen quite frequently. With kind regards, Michel

Hello DEHAlten, Are you looking for notification for device communication errors? If so, unfortunately we do not yet support this features. Is there any specific reasons you want to query all your devices twice per day? With kind regards, Michel

Switchlinc Timer unsupported device?
Hi again nlaredo! Thanks so very much for the clarifications. I have already sent an email to SmartHome to see if they have an updated documentation for this device of which we had not been notified. We shall keep you posted if anything comes up. You can have KeypadLinc devices turn scenes off (and not on) but setting the Button Toggle Mode (to Non Toggle Off). With kind regards, Michel

Release 3.1.10 (Beta) Is Now Available
Hi Illusion, No, based on Greg's excellent detective work, we know exactly where the problem is. We are just trying to figure out why we did this in the first place. The only other alternative is that ISY should reload all the programs which might take a while. We are investigating. With kind regards, Michel

Switchlinc Timer unsupported device?
nlaredo, The naming might be misleading but there is no distinction between the two from INSTEON/ISY perspective. I am not aware of any parameters that could be set on the SwitchLinc timer except those that are set locally. I still do not understand which part is wishful thinking. If your SwitchLinc timer turns off (after the timer is set), it should send an off command to all responders in the scene. If it does not, please do let us know and we'll take it up with SmartHome

Release 3.1.10 (Beta) Is Now Available
Hello everyone, If the difference in change in time is more than a few minutes, ISY clears all run times and starts fresh. So, this is normal. What's not normal is if any of your programs using Sunrise/Sunset did not work. If that's the case: 1. Please make sure your programs are not in a folder with conditions 2. Please copy/paste (right mouse click | copy to clipboard) the program and send it to support@universal-devices.com With kind regards, Michel

View of a devices associated programs
Hi Matt, Unfortunately there are no means of figuring out which program impacts devices without going to the Program Details tab and doing an explicit Find/Replace (right mouse click on My Programs and then choose Find/Replace). With kind regards, Michel

internet access fails after a few weeks
John and oberkc, Please note that when you do File | Enable Internet Access, ISY uses UPnP to configure the router. The main point with UPnP configuration is that it's volatile: if your router reboots, then it will lose the port mapping. For reliability, it's best to configure port forwarding manually. John, I am not sure whether or not you are using File | Enable Internet Access ... if you are, it's best to do manual port forwarding. With kind regards, Michel

Cannot add Scenes
Hello keepersg, thank you. I think the problem is that your SD Card is corrupted. What firmware version are you on? You have to make sure that you have a backup from any version NOT equaling 3.1.6 (which corrupted the backup files). Once you have located a good backup, please go to File | Restore ISY. If you are still having issues with strange characters on the screen, please do our tech support line and we'll try to fix it remotely. With kind regards, Michel

General ISY Questions...
Hello CPUjohn, Comments below. With kind regards, Michel I do not know what FPROT is but is it possible to send a screenshot of the dialogs you are getting on your XP to support@universal-devices.com? I think it's best for me to explain how ISY works (LeeG has explained it perfectly; I am just going to give you more details): 1. Admin Console connected to ISY's web server (either HTTP or HTTPS) 2. Admin Console subscribes to ISY 3. Subscription service uses the same socket as the subscription request. Jave creates random ports so subscription requests to ISY may have random ports on your computer 4. ISY sends the status of all events back to your Admin Console So, if you have a firewall device that blocks IP traffic from unknown devices (untrusted zones), then ISY cannot publish the events to the Admin Console. The best thing to do would be to put ISY's IP address in the white list/trusted zone in your firewall. Furthermore: 1. You have to make sure Java is trusted 2. You have to make sure that the first time ever when you used the Admin Console, you accepted the Java certificate without which you will have all sorts of intermittent issues Port forwarding is completely different than Admin Console ISY communications. This said, I urge you to port forward to the HTTPS port because all traffic is in clear text (including your userid/password) if you use the HTTP port. Just to be clear: Port Forwarding is enabling traffic from the Internet to get to your ISY. Firewall issues, on the other hand, are impacting communications between your "computer" and ISY and thus unrelated to port forwarding. Please see above

internet access fails after a few weeks
Hi John, This would happen if your ISP changes the IP address for your account. The best way to alleviate this is to setup a dynamic DNS account (http://www.dyndns.com) and have your router update the service with its new IP address. With kind regards, Michel

Can this feature be added??
Hi Teken, Adding devices requires ISY to be able to communicate with that device to extract type and version information. But, apart from that, you can do everything else in batch including adding to scenes and changing attributes (you can even be offline). If you do not have PRO series, you must purchase the PRO module by going to Help | Purchase Modules. Once on PRO, you get two extra buttons at the top: 1. Automatic Write (not batch) 2. Battery operated device (batch everything on battery operated devices) With kind regards, Michel

Release 3.1.10 (Beta) Is Now Available
Hi ergodic, We will look into it. bocarray, Are these the new thermostat dongles? sanders2222, I am so very sorry to hear. Yes, please do send your Error Log to support@universal-devices.com. It would be great if you could let us know the last time you tried to communicate with ISY and could not. With kind regards, Michel

Basement Temp sensor for ISY-99i and thus Venstar Insteon
Hi Teken, Thanks so very much! Recently, we have had to choose devices that we support. For instance, TouchLinc is probably going to be discontinued so we are glad that we did not add support for it. With kind regards, Michel

Can this feature be added??
Teken, If you have PRO series, you can do this by: 1. Disable automatic write 2. Make your programming 3. Go in front of the Motion Sensor to awaken it 4. Click on the button to enable automatic write With kind regards, Michel

Tine zone issue
Hello gabbott, It's not normal at all for you to have to reboot ISY to get the time zone to stick. Do you get status updates from your devices updating the Admin Console? With kind regards, Michel

Release 3.1.10 (Beta) Is Now Available
matapan, There are no issues using 3.1.9 UI with the exception of RL2 specific features. Are you sure you are on 3.1.10? With kind regards, Michel

Tine zone issue
Hello Greg, Have you checked Daylight Saving box? This should correct the one hour discrepancy. Also, what you might want to do is use precise latitude and longitude for your location instead of using an actual location name. You have two ways of doing this: 1. Find the lat/long for your location, click on Admin Console | Configuration | System | Clock | Change Location button and enter the lat/long for your location OR 2. Click on the Change Location button and then click on the Locate Me button in the ensuing dialog With kind regards, Michel

Basement Temp sensor for ISY-99i and thus Venstar Insteon
Hi Jeff, "Colder" than what? If the what is a value that can be preset, then you can have ISY programs based on that value. For instance, something like If Status thermostat_a is Then Set thermostat_b mode = heat Set thermostat_b set point = 74 Energy display is on our list of things to do. The main issue has been the lack of demand for the support of this device. With kind regards, Michel

Utility Power restored (from Generator)
Hi Jeff, The main question is whether or not any of your INSTEON devices are on backup power as well (which would not work anyway unless ALL of them are since UPS will block all INSTEON traffic). What you might want to do is to not plug ISY on UPS/generator. This way, when power is restored, not only you would get notifications (as long as the router is also back up) but also you can switch on/off a load controller which turns on/off the generator. With kind regards, Michel
