  1. I've picked up a few useful sudo commands on the message boards to help with maintaining a good running Polisy but I wonder what I could be missing. For instance, here's a group of commands that are great for updating and upgrading. sudo shutdown -r sudo service polyglot stop sudo service udx stop sudo pkg update sudo pkg upgrade sudo service polyglot start sudo service udx start Are there other commands that would come in handy?
  2. you will need an ssh utility (such as putty) to connect to Polisy over the network sudo service polyglot stop sudo service udx stop sudo pkg update sudo pkg upgrade sudo service polyglot start sudo service udx start
  3. Also, I've read here in the Forum that z-wave doesn't allow for large grouping ( 4 or less) either. Since I'm a newbie with z-wave not sure how that relates to scenes and if that's the same. I think I have a relatively small or medium Insteon network so perhaps z-wave would still be suitable. Attached is what I have so far. It's interesting though about the z-wave quantity reported by the ISY Inventory Polygot. I only have 3 z-wave devices but it's reporting 14. I'm in no hurry to switch over from Insteon, it's more or less just a curiosity at this point and I may continue to replace failing Insteon devices with z-wave if appropriate. Would like to see Insteon hardware more competitive and better packaging like I see with GE's (Jasco) z-wave. A new Insteon Modem would be nice too. My house is only 2400 sqft and my 3 device z-wave mesh already works from one end of the house to the other.
  4. It's been awhile since you posted your question but perhaps for someone else reading this. I just started to do the same. I bought my first z-wave devices from Amazon at a very reasonable price. Much cheaper than buying Insteon from SmartHome. GE Enbrighten Wall Switch Dimmer, Outdoor Smart Switch and Plug In smart Switch. They are all Z-Wave Plus. https://products.z-wavealliance.org/regions/2/categories/16/products?company=356 I'm very impressed with the quality and construction of these devices. The in-wall dimmer is what a hard wired electrical device should be. I'll be converting over very slowly but so far I'm sticking with GE brand. They are made by Jasco. https://byjasco.com/ I started by replacing an Insteon wall dimmer that was failing. But, had to build a small z-wave mesh circuit in order to control a z-wave replacement given it's position in the house from the ISY. It only took one device in between to get a good signal to the wall dimmer. Hope that helps a bit with your decision.
  5. If it just saved locally that would suit me. Maybe a custom configuration parameter with the local file path and credentials if needed.
  6. Now that ISY is becoming grand central station for external systems thru the Polisy/Polyglot interface I need a way to report on all that data. In it's simplest form if I could access device data thru the existing ISY Notification functionality it would suffice. But, currently I don't see a way to capture node server device data and put it in a email. Maybe a Polyglot Node Server could pick up the missing pieces and generate report files saved to the local network, Polisy box or email notifications. Fancy formatting not required, a csv file for importing into Excel or whatever is enough. Thanks, -phil
  7. I'm looking for a Polygot V2 node server that can control my new Hunter Apache WiFi Ceiling Fan. The fan shows up in HomeKit and [some?] cloud server to integrate to Google and Alexa. SIMPLEconnect® smart ceiling fans are the first to be HomeKit Certified by Apple, and one of the only Wi-Fi ceiling fans that work with Alexa, HomeKit, and Google Home.
  8. I can't find this in the WiKi. UDI Support gave me this information.
  9. Okay thanks. One last question. Any idea what the LEDs indicate?
  10. Duh? I saw that and thought Download to Polisy. Does it backup the whole system or just Polygot node server installs? Thanks. Phil
  11. I hope I didn’t ruin something by pulling the plug. Seems okay. BTW, I don’t see how to backup Polisy, just a restore. Can it be backed up to a network drive?
  12. It continued to flash for a couple hours. I did a Polisy reboot but that didn't help. So I did a Polisy shutdown and then pulled the plug. Everything started up okay and now the light is out. Just the left most LED is on. So I guess everything is normal again.
  13. What are each of the 3 LEDs used for? The right most LED is continually flashing. I think it started after I initiated a Polisy Update. It's been 20 minutes, still flashing.
  14. Just to clarify my position. I’m extremely happy with the Pro. I’ve had it 2 days and 5 node servers later I’m amazed. I didn’t know at the time what I needed the WiFi and Bluetooth for. But, I got the May promo discount and supersized it. Not the first time I’ve stepped up only to be prepared for future expansion. It’s just that UDI could have made that a little clearer for those of us that don’t follow UDI that closely.
  15. As long as I was smart I’m okay with it. Perhaps, though, to avoid confusion and in the interest of transparency, UDI could have labeled those features as “coming soon”.
  16. Well, I paid extra for the PRO version to get Wifi and Bluetooth. Sorta feel gypped.
  17. Sorry. thought i was in the wrong forum the first time.
  18. Just received my new Polisy Pro. Where do I post questions about it? I don’t see a Forum for Polisy Users, I'm not a Developer (yet?) just Polygot subjects. General questions about WiFi & Bluetooth control. How do I use these features Moving Polygot-Cloud node servers to local network? What else does this Polisy box do? Why 3 network connectors?

  20. Kudos for fixing it.
  21. Is this issue on the Node Server's side or NOAA's data?
  22. I just checked how the NOAA node was looking from the UD Mobile iPhone App and it looks like it's displaying the index number instead of the value.
  23. I see where NOAA publishes a list of their possible Weather Conditions used in their XML data. It is quite lengthy. https://w1.weather.gov/xml/current_obs/weather.php
  24. okay. It's now showing "Overcast". Before when it was showing "Unknown" it was "Light Rain" at the NOAA web site. I do have the Alert County Code configured.
