I'm using a Harmony Hub with a couple Remotes to control the TV, Receiver, Fire Stick, TiVo Bolt, TiVo Stream and Blueray. It also is linked to a Honeywell Thermostat and HueEmulator NS PG2. I was using the HueEmulator for linking Insteon programs to the Harmony Companion Remote Home Control Buttons. Turns out I didn't use them much so I may not go to PG3 with that Node Server. I was just wondering what I could do with the HarmonyHub.

Issue solved!! Worked online with Michel. He took control of my system and performed his magic! After all that it turned out to be the serial cable. It doesn't make a good solid connection to the PLM. You have to push it in and over so that it makes good contact. I pushed a stick in with it and that worked. Also, turns out my USB PLM is probably kaput. It's a left over from my Hoomseer days. Still have to troubleshoot what happened to the 994i during all this. Might be the power supply bit the dust. All I have is a power on light that is slightly flickering. Anyway, I've restored the IoP from my 994i backup and all looks good to go. Still more to do. Update: 994i power supply was bad. It measured 5vdc under no-load but must be breaking down under load. Used the 99i's power supply and the 994i powered up fine. This is a 5vdc 1amp supply. Ordered some 5vdc 2amp units to have on hand. Update USB PLM I mistakenly thought I had a USB PLM from an older installation. It was, instead, a SmartLabs PowerLinc V2 USB #2414U. That will not work with Polisy. My bad.

@MichaelHi, was just starting to submit support ticket. I'm connecting the Serial PLM to the DB9 serial port. Just finished doing a continuity check on the Serial cable and it looks good. Also re-verified the Serial PLM working with 99i. During this process last night my 994i ISY quit working so I switched to my 99i to verify PLM is working.

Insteon is checked and saved, no UPS. Strange that neither the Serial or USB PLM work. Both show not connected.

Not All Tag Parameters Fit in ISY Admin Console panel

Yes IoP. The font size for the nodes list in the left panel is fine but the right panel containing the device info has always had a mix of large and small sizes. It always looked clunky to me. -
Not All Tag Parameters Fit in ISY Admin Console panel

They're set to 100% -
So, I'm migrating from 994i to Polisy and PLM status is Not Connected for either my Serial or USB PLM. IoP has been working for the last couple days with only z-wave and PG3. I restored IoP from the 994i backup. Insteon and z-wave are both checked in configuration. But no matter because the ioP is not seeing the PLM. I'm using the original Serial cable that came with it however I've never used the cable so I can't know if it's good. How can I troubleshoot this? Will call support tomorrow if I can't get it going tonight. thanks, -phil

Not sure if this is an ISY Admin Console phenomena or Node Server. On some of the tags like type 21 or 26 not all of the parameters fit on the screen even when maximized and lowest Font setting (12). I can see there are more parameters at the bottom but they're getting cut off and there's no vertical scroll bar. Is there some adjustment I can do to make the type smaller, so it fits?

I actually installed V3 a couple times, and it would never discover my tags. I rebooted everything, clicked on Discover and set Montitor Tags True but they would never show up. It was then I discovered the Access settings in the Tag Manager and saw it was for version V2 back in 2021 when I first installed V2. So, I thought that was the problem and Revoked that access, reinstalled V3 and everything worked. BTW... A WirelessTag has URL Calling parameters that get assigned, to what looks like, the Polyglot. If so, how can you have V2 and V3 both going at the same time? Here's a URL Calling parameter example with V3. http://192.168.1.158:23949/update?tmgr_mac=341A7A7179B1&name={0}&tagid={1}&temp={2}&hum={3}&lux={4}&ts={5}&batv={6}

All is fine, as I stated. It's just V3 is labeled as V2 in the Wireless Tag Manager.

I purchased WirelessTag for PG3. After the install I selected the link to authorize the NS and the window that displayed is labeled for V2 Nodeserver access. See attached. I granted access and everything looked fine, but I ended up with only 2 nodes in IoP, no tag nodes. I had V2 of this NS running on my ISY 994i and before installing V3 I deleted it from PG2. What I didn't do was Revoke Access to the V2 authorization in my WirelessTag Account. After Revoking access and then reinstalling V3 everything appears okay. It discovered all of my tags. But, in my WirelessTag Account it is showing access to V2 not the V3 that I just set up. V3 NS appears to be telling WirelessTag Manager that it is still V2. ********************************************** Image from WirelessTag Account:

@mjrush oooops, forgot about that checkbox. I also had Insteon checked and no PLM plugged in yet so I got the z-wave dongle not responding message. Unchecking Insteon and all is fine. thanks

So I just received the Zoo S2 stick 700 USB. I was currently using the 994i ISY with Z-Wave but I removed all z-wave devices from that network. Only have 3 so far. My plan is to keep using the 994i for Insteon but use the Polisy ISY for Z-Wave just until PG3 and everything is stable. First question is can I do that? 2nd question is how do I add the Zoo Stick to Polisy? I plugged it in, rebooted Polisy, started up the IoP but no signs of z-wave.

Like how? I'd like to learn about it.

Sorry guys, I guess I wasn't clear. You only do all that once. After you successfully go through it you end up with a new shortcut that launches the Admin console directly. You then use that shortcut going forward. I included an image of that in my original post. I've been launching the Admin Console for years that way. Surprised you weren't aware of it.
-
Thanks Mr. Bill... Yes, the link opens that browser window, but you have to go another step further. Clicking on the "Install Admin Console (Internet)" link would then download admin.jnlp file. Running that file opens up a ISY Finder window and an Admin Console window and a prompt to login. BUT, the ISY Finder window is only showing one line, the 994i ISY. Suffice it to say, this procedure no longer works as it did before when there was just one ISY 994i. No big deal, using the ISY Launcher shortcut is fine going forward into the Polisy universe. -phil

Well... the desktop icon is called "ISY Launcher" but the window that opens is titled "ISY Finder". So, with that, my shortcut technique launches 2 windows, the ISY finder and Admin console. BTW.. this is not my invention, I learned it years ago in the forum most likely.
-
Yes, I have the launcher and it will open the Polisy ISY Admin console. The technique I'm using with the 994i opened the Admin Console directly without having to start the launcher first. It actually would run the launcher and the Admin console together, both windows would be opened on the desktop. I just realized that I need to use port 8080 for local request to Polisy, so this will launch udajax.htm on Polisy. Not sure yet if the Admin console works from this page. http://<polisy IP>:8080/WEB/udajax.htm#/config/&tmpl=options

For my 994i ISY I had this note to create a desktop shortcut for the ISY. Usually whenever a new version of ISY was installed I'd have to recreate this shortcut as the Java cache would always get deleted. Admin Console desktop shortcut Open this link and click the Install Admin Console (Internet) link. http://<ISY IP>/WEB/udajax.htm#/config/&tmpl=options Doing this would result in this icon on my desktop that would start the Admin console. I tried to do this for the Polisy ISY using the above link with Polisy's IP address, but it didn't work. I get a "refused to connect" error in the browser window. Will something like this work for the Polisy ISY?

Is there any way to poll a device to determine what Series it is? The few I have are from GE labeled as Z-Wave Plus but no mention of series.
-
That's great I'll message you.
-
@Mr01Can you make me one. How much? Thanks, -phil
-
@dbwarner5 thanks for the reply. That's a good answer! I forgot about that being the case with Insteon and the PLM addressing. Not worth the effort then to set that up. I just ordered the Zooz USB 700 Series Z-Wave Plus S2 Stick ZST10 700 to use with Polisy. I only have a few Z-Wave devices that are installed, but not used. I think I'll try using Polisy with z-wave to start out and play around with that. Then migrate the ISY over using the restore from backup. I can use the same serial PLM that 994i is currently using. Although I do have another older USB PLM. I wonder if that's any better?

I went as far as starting ISY on Polisy adding it to the Launcher and then changing the logon credentials. I can run the Admin Console for it but don't want to migrate yet from my ISY994i. Is it possible to keep the 994i in service while configuring the Polisy ISY or once the migration is started there's no turning back? I'm not sure how far you can go with having the 2 ISYs, until down the road, when it's only the Polisy ISY. -phil
