  1. It's a controller in a scene with one other device. None of the devices in it's scene are related to the scene or devices that keep affecting it. What would cause the E2 links (I'm assuming these are scene links of some sort) to unrelated devices?
  2. I'm seeing these problems when I activate a scene right from the ISY console. The only change I made was making it a controller in one scene. This somehow increased the amount of links in the switch from 6 to 29. It has E2 records for devices that are in the scenes that somehow control this light. I don't see any reason in the ISY for these links to be there, but the ISY links table shows them all too. No related programs are running, but just in-case I disabled all programs that control the light. How often do SwitchLinc's go bad?
  3. Well the problem has gotten stranger. The switch now responds to a few scenes in the house that it is not a part of. Nothing shows up in the event log and it doesn't report that it changed to the ISY. I tried running restore devices on my entire network and factory reset the switch. Any other ideas?
  4. Thanks. That bit worked. Now if only SSL worked with webkit. And the dark background isn't too friendly on black & white devices either.
  5. It's not processing the POST command properly. The result should only be a few lines of text, but since I can't understand the error messages I don't know what is wrong. I test using wget/curl and then enter those same values in the ISY.
  6. I'm having a few glitches with the new web interface. 1. The SSL reuse causes problems on the Kindle. (uses webkit like Safari) 2. I can't bookmark the URL for specific devices/scenes. Are any changes being made to solve these issues or will there be a way to use the old interface?
  7. Very cool! Here's hoping the ISY guys add it soon. So far I love the ICON switches and will only buy those from now on if they work as expected.
  8. Hi Lee. How are you manually sending that extended command?
  9. That looks like my problem. Wish I knew that before they were purchased. I can't find any info online as to what versions have it yet. Thanks for the help.
  10. I set both the settings for the scene, and for the controller for good measure. After a power cycle it worked. :\ Is this an ICON limitation? My Insteon switch seems to handle it fine.
  11. Hi Michel. I'm trying to solve this again. The network settings are correct. DNS works, and I often access it remotely, so that means the gateway is set correctly. Some hosts work, some don't. With https GET on port 443 /, here is what I get www.yahoo.com "TCP client resource moved [Net Module Rule: 12]" (this seems right) www.universal-devices.com "TCP client read response failed [Net Module Rule: 12]" 66.226.88.82 (http://www.universal-devices.com'>http://www.universal-devices.com) "TCP client read response failed [Net Module Rule: 12]" www.facebook.com "TCP client read response failed [Net Module Rule: 12]" www.unetworks.com "TCP client read response failed [Net Module Rule: 12]" 192.168.x.x works fine. A local web server with a self signed SSL cert. With http GET on port 80 / www.universal-devices.com "TCP client read response failed [Net Module Rule:12]" 66.226.88.82 (http://www.universal-devices.com) "TCP client request failed [Net Module Rule: 12:403]" This would be expected. www.yahoo.com "TCP client resource moved [Net Module Rule:12]" Expected. www.asdf.com works! www.unetworks.com works! The Event Viewer shows nothing except when I receive a timeout error. What I'd like to get working in the end is a notification system using http://www.notifo.com
  12. Thanks!I had previously tried that but didn't know that each Controller had it's own scene settings that could be adjusted by a program. Got it figured out and it works great. I've also added delays in programs to lower network traffic during busy programs like the "Arrive Home" program. I sometimes had to wait 5-10 seconds for the entrance lights to come on. I can't seem to get it working on my single ICON dimmer though. Are there any incompatibilities there? I tried manually resetting the device and doing a restore from the ISY.
  13. How long should it take for a command from a light switch to go from a light switch, to the ISY, and back again to a lamp? Example. 1. Press light switch on wall. Light turns on. 2. Paddle press received by ISY. 3. ISY sends a command to turn on another light in the room. This seems to take 1-3 seconds to complete. Is that normal? It's mostly a problem when I want lights to come on at different brightnesses depending on the time of day. For example in the bedroom, the lights should only come on to 40% just before bedtime and 100% during the rest of the day. I set the local on level to 40% and then have a scene that is adjusted using a program. The ISY activates that scene when the switch is turned on. So 2 questions. 1. Is there something wrong with my network causing it to take this long? 2. Is there a better way to have different brightnesses based on time of day?
  14. Neat! It's there now. I'll check next time it breaks. Thanks.
  15. Interesting. I never ran the restore device command. Not in the past few weeks anyway. I just deleted it from scenes one by one and re-added. That is one of the issues I've been having too. The ISY does not see paddle presses when it is broken. I found out that I could get it working by making it a controller in a scene. No programs work with the network module and that switch. The network module can only send commands to the network when called from a program. There is no direct link to the Insteon side of things. I'm going to try disabling programs that change settings on the switch and see what happens.
  16. Glad to have someone to troubleshoot with. It happened again today. When trying to change it's options in a scene, I first get this error: Subscriber didn't reply to event: 1 [Net Module Rule: 3] ------------------------------------ TCP client connection timed out [Net Module Rule: 7] ^That was a single error dialog. Then any adjustments after that get this error: Error Request Failed After removing from scenes and re-adding, it all works as expected. So step one is disabling all automatic scene adjustments? I can successfully request a links table. See attachment:
  17. Correct. Although SwitchLinc A was sent back to SmartHome as I thought it was faulty. SwitchLinc B was moved from location B to location A after confirming location was not the problem. I have some dynamically updating scenes. What kind of things could cause this? I also change the LED brightness based on other things in the house. Surprisingly, this always works.
  18. Thanks for the reply. I replaced the switch at location A, when that didn't fix the problem, I moved it to location B (a confirmed working location). I'll try that next time it breaks. Probably tomorrow. IIRC, I would get communication errors when trying to get a links table. I understand that it has no relevance, but it seems the ISY gets very confused when there are communication errors with this switch. It followed the SwitchLinc. v.36
  19. I have a SwitchLinc that keeps breaking its connection to scenes. Up to once a day I need to delete the switch from all scenes and re-add them. When adjusting scene settings for that device, I get SSL errors, device errors, and other confusing error messages. After I delete and re-add it to the scene, it works. Restoring the device does not fix this either. I thought it was a problem with the device, so I replaced it with another, and placed the switch on the other side of the house (different circuit) where an existing SwitchLinc was working perfectly. I have the same problems with the new switch in that new location. The device also doesn't always send on/off (when physically pressed) commands back to the ISY unless it is a Controller in a scene (I just have a test one.) What could be causing this? I have a network of about 15 devices and have never had communication issues except with this one.
  20. Sorry for the delay in replying! I use it to add playback controls for different media devices. When it takes 2-4 seconds to pause or switch tracks you wonder if something is wrong.
  21. Thanks for the script! Will help me stay sane while I wait for the promised fixes.
  22. Will DNS caching be added to future versions? It's annoying having a delay as I use it to control other devices where one would expect instant feedback.
  23. When I use a hostname instead of an IP address in the network module, there is a second or two delay before that command runs. It's as if there is a DNS delay and the ISY doesn't cache it. Is that the case, or is something else going on?
  24. When using HTTPS with the network module, I only get "TCP client connection timed out" errors. Even connecting to sites that I know work. If I change it to HTTP, I at least get the error "TCP client read response failed", which is probably due to me trying HTTP on port 443. All HTTP methods work fine. Any ideas? The lack of logging (HINT HINT) means it's extremely difficult to troubleshoot.
  25. No, you should control the scene instead of the switch. Rand Ok. Thanks. I guess for using my iPhone app I'll create a program to keep it updated.
