  1. My Eisy is currently connected to the wifi without a wired connection. Is there any issue if I use a Ethernet cable to connect directly to my router via the port to the right side of the power connection? Any changes needed on the Eisy?
  2. I too have been seeing the same problem over the past couple of weeks. It is always in short duration. My ISP is showing no outages. I do not see the same problem on other devices. For example, I was accessing the Eisy via the UD portal on my desktop. The app indicated that the Eisy was offline, however, I was able to access other web sites during the "outage". Also I stream tv and there was no interruption.
  3. Paul - thank you. As you state, I turned the scene on/off and the lights perform as programmed. I did the same for the other bathrooms and all is ok. I have deleted the programs and now operate only with a scene. Thanks to you and everyone who contributed.
  4. Guy - I deleted the scene, enabled the program and performed "Run Then" as suggested. The lights came on per the program instructions. Next step? Thanks Just another comment regarding the change in my Eisy yesterday. I had linked Google and Alexa to switches in three different rooms. Both Google and Alexa lost their links to the Eisy.
  5. I will respond to the above with the oldest message first. Guy - the admin console accurately reflects the status of the devices. I performed an on/off at the switch and the console indicated the correct status. Paul - I disabled the program, save the change, then wrote a scene with the 3 devices as a controller. When I selected the ceiling light "on" from the console, no other light turned on. Apostolakisl - the program does not indicate any run time. Geddy - thanks for the instruction on how to properly post a program. I appreciate the advice and will remember it. The current situation has everything to do with my post yesterday. Something happened with my Eisy. The above program was working yesterday in 3 bathrooms. I have the same program for all 3 rooms. During the day all of these programs lost their function in the same exact manner. In addition, the on level on the dimmer switches (ceiling and mirror) all defaulted to 100%. Beyond the above program I have a program for outside lights and it lost part of its function. I attempted to recover the issue by manually doing a restore on each device, resetting the on levels, etc. I could not resolve the program issues so I then tried to restore the IoX. I kept making the same mistake of not selecting the most recent IoX backup until you trigger some sense into me. I then properly selected the latest IoX backup, which is what I am working from. At the time I made the backup all of my devices and programs were operating as designed. ALL - So the current status is - - the "bathroom" light program is not functional. - the scene created with all 3 switches as controllers was created and tested for 1 bathroom. The scene operates (faulty) similar to the program. - other programs such as an outdoor light program lost some function yesterday when the light program became faulty. - I have tried to restore devices and still can't operate the program - The IoX was restored with a known good program. All help is greatly appreciated. Your comments for improvements are also appreciated.
  6. I have this program and it does not run. It is enabled. When I turned "on" any one of the lights, the other lights do not respond. The program summary page indicates that the program has not run. I also have a companion program for turning "off" the lights and it also will not run. Suggestions appreciated. Eisy, Insteon.

    Restore IoX

I have a program that turns on a group of lights. If "A" is on or "B' is on or "C" is on Then turn A on turn B on turn C on The program was working without issues until today when a switch would not trigger any other switch. I did a restore on each switch and could not resolve the issue. I disabled, then enabled the program with a "save changes" with each change. Nothing was resolved. I then did a restore IoX. Ugh. The IoX backup that was restored is not my latest backup. In addition, I have an on/off outlet and a on/off dimmer outlet. I can't establish communication with either. I have tried to manually set the devices into linking mode but can't communicate with them. (green light blinks rapidly) Questions: 1. How can I select which backup is used for the restore? 2. Any idea what may have caused the loss of links in the program? 3. Any suggestions on establishing communication with the outlets? Thanks
  8. Thanks to everyone who responded. I bought my first ISY in 2011 and I have performed no programming in 8-10 years as the system worked just fine. Even the exchange to a new ISY was a no brainer. Now I am in a new house with a new Eisy and all new devices, rooms, etc. so I am trying to navigate the setup from my ancient memory and as it appears, from ancient documentation. My primary challenge has been scenes. As noted above, the process has changed and there appears to be no updated documentation that is kept in one location. I don't know where to point the finger as Insteon doesn't sell the Eisy and UD does not sell Insteon. Insteon is willing to answer support questions, however, that process doesn't facilitate timely responses and follow up questions. My conclusion is to again say "Thank you", to all of you on the forum who spend the time to provide help.
  9. Does anyone have a resource that I could reference which provides education on programming Insteon on the Eisy? Specifically, I am trying to understand scenes, controllers, responders. Some of my questions include the following; - Do I use a scene to simultaneously operate a number of switches and dimmers that are in an area or do I write a program to operate the devices? - I am replacing a 3-way circuit. Can I use a dimmer & an 0n/off or must both devices match? IE dimmer/dimmer, on/off & on/off. - In the two examples above, can I operate these two devices in a scene or should I write a program? - Again, in this type of 3 way circuit, is one device a controller, responder or are both controllers? - If one is a controller and the other a responder, does it matter which device has the controller label (dimmer or switch)? In the main Eisy scene screen do I set the on level for each device or does my on level from the device list carry over to the scene? Thanks for help on these questions and pointing me to documentation which may help with these and other Insteon questions.
  10. Thanks to paulbates and Geddy. Changing the memory has resolved the issue. The help is really appreciated.
  11. I have 12 GB of RAM I got the launched from the UDI web page. I clicked on the "My ISY" icon. I have taken your link and added it to my desktop. Thx
  12. I have a new Eisy on version 5.8.4 When I use the IoX launcher, the IoX finder will responder "not found" then will display the Eisy. I can then select the Lan launch. The response to the sign in is slow. Sometimes the sign in window will lock up. I am on Windows 10. I have cleared the Java cache (3 selections), deleted the IoX launcher and obtained a new launcher from UDI. Any suggestions?
  13. The Eisy IoX screen which shows all devices on my network has some devices where the status on the IoX screen does not match the actual status of the device as shown on the individual device. What is the cause of the mismatch?
  14. Thank you. Your advice is good. The Hub would be better for them. Right now I have to use another app, MobiLinc to get the iPhone feature. The decision to replace the ISY is now with the new owner, which is another reason I hope local support can be found to get them through the transition. This situation is a classic example of how Smarthome technology can affect a home sale.
  15. I just sold my home which has 40+ Insteon devices and an ISY 994i. The new buyer has no knowledge of the technology and needs help to set up the system into their wifi and computer. They also need a general introduction and education about the operation of the equipment. Is there a resource in the Tampa Bay area who would contract with the buyer to provide assistance?
  16. My ISY 994I Pro is operating and I have no issues communicating via my desktop or MoblLinc Connect. The Administrative Console does not show the correct status of a light. IE, it will show OFF when the light is ON or vice versa. I have rebooted the ISY but the problem persists. The problem is not consistent and does not affect all devices. I have made no changes to my devices, lighting system, home electrical system or added new appliances, etc. Suggestions?
  17. How do you troubleshoot the PLM?
  18. Thanks for your help. I was turning the on/off and off/on at the switch. However, I can also turn on/off and off/on via MobiLinc and the admin console. The status indication will not necessarily change on MobiLinc or the admin console despite the switch actually changing from on/off or off/on. I will power down all devices that have noise filters as a start to test noise. Any idea why I can't get the wireless on/off switches such as the garage door to activate on the admin console or MobiLinc?
  19. I have a mixed situation. Some switches properly display the status on both the Admin console and MobiLinc. Other devices are MobiLinc only. Some devices are neither MobiLinc or admin console. I just ran a test on a wall switch. It was off, turned on and the status showed correctly on MobiLinc and admin console. Turned off and both MobiLinc and admin console show the switch still on. I have not added any electronic devices in the house. All of my typical "noise" devices are connected to Insteon filters.
  20. The Query at Restart was checked. In the past my on/off switches would reconnect once I open/closed the door or pushed the button on the switch. Now neither situation will ping the ISY.
  21. Update completed. The status on the switches still does not update to reflect current on/off status. I also have no connection to the wireless switches such as on/off switches and leak detectors. The leak detectors are dead on all indicators on/off/heartbeat. The leak sensors and switches do not register when I manually activate the button on the devices.
  22. I also have lost all status indication on leak sensors (wet/dry/heartbeat) and all wireless devices such as open/close sensors. 24 hrs has past since I unplugged the ISY so I would expect heartbeats to renew. My open/close sensors are on garage doors that have been operated several times since I unplugged the ISY.
  23. Firmware Insteon_UD994v.4.8.0 UI Insteon_UD994 v.4.8.0
  24. Using ISY 994i, MobiLinc Connect for years. All Insteon system. My devices no longer update their status on MobiLinc Connect. All devices are working properly and will respond when using MobiLinc or the wall switches. I have unplugged the ISY and did not resolve the problem. Next steps? Thanks for all suggestions.
  25. I replaced an 8 button keypad with another 8 button keypad. The original keypad was no longer functioning. I used the sub menu under the original keypad (button A) to replace the original with the new keypad. The new keypad recorded the 8 buttons as separate devices rather than showing the device as button A and then having the other 7 buttons as a sub menu hidden under the listing of button A. How can I rectify the problem? I don't want to delete the new device(s) because of the amount of linking, etc. that will be required. I have a backup of the ISY prior to the replacement of the keypad.
