  1. Any idea if the Insteon 2663-222 On/Off Outlet is supported by the ISY-994i? I'm considering upgrading from a 99i. Thank you!
  2. This is exactly what I was looking for! It works like a charm. Thank you so much!!
  3. I do have the network ISY add on module and would love to be able to directly integrate launching a program on my Mac based on a variable state change. Any idea how to accomplish this as it would be much more efficient than the other method? Thanks so much for your time and expertise.
  4. Based on this documentation, it appears that this is the command I need to use to pull the variable? /rest/vars/get// Retrieves a variable given by var-id If so, how do I direct that towards my ISY – in other words the IP and login information what does that look like? Could you give me an example of what the entire string looks like? Thanks again...
  5. Hello, Here's what I'm trying to accomplish: Right now, I'm using MobiLinc with a geofence on my iPhone to execute a variety of programs on my ISY when I exit/return from my home. That said, I'd like to extend this functionality to my iMac/PC by looking for a change in variable state on my ISY whereby a program(s) is executed on my iMac/PC. Is there a relatively simple way to accomplish this Thank you!
  6. Thanks so much for the kind offer, however it sounds like a lot of work for a hacked together solution since it's really not designed to do this.
  7. Can a KeypadLinc communicate with an ISY-994i? Ideally, one would enter a security code using the keypad and then the ISY would authenticate it and respond accordingly... I don't have a security system so this method would take the place. Thank you for the help, Chuck
  8. Let's say I was to upgrade to the 994i, would this be possible? Can you suggest specific equipment to accomplish this?
  9. I currently have a make-shift security system using Insteon motion sensors and open/close sensors coupled to an ISY-99i. That said, I would like to add a keypad whereby when the security system is armed and a sensor is tripped, the occupant has 30 seconds to enter a code which is then authenticated by the ISY. If correct, the ISY disables security, if incorrect it trips a siren and sends me a text message, etc. Is this possible? My shopping list would be: • Keypad of some sort • I/O Linc to power/activate siren • Siren I appreciate any thoughts on this...

    Voice control?

A Kinect can be had for $79 which I think is quite reasonable. The bigger issue to me is wiring...

    Voice control?

I've been using the iOS version of MobiLinc for years, and I love it. I recently installed the new voice plug-in, however it's just not practical unless you're holding the device or within hands reach of it. My objective, is to be just about anywhere in my home and be able to use voice commands without the need to be holding or near another device.

    Voice control?

I love my ISY and use it not only to control my Insteon devices but also all of my IR equipment using a WIFI-IR bridge. That said, the only killer feature missing for me is voice control. I was considering Castle OS for this functionality, however it doesn't support sending http get commands. Has anyone had any success tying a Microsoft Kinect microphone array into an ISY? This would be the best of both worlds for me... Thank you!
  13. I'm using that latest firmware available for the ISY-99i as it doesn't support 4.1.x...
  14. Sorry Michell, my mistake as I didn't know I was supposed to install anything and deleted the admin.jnlp thinking it was erroneous. In any case, I was able to use another workaround by simply adding the URL to the trusted sites in the Java console and all is well. Thanks for your help! Chuck
  15. I have already tried method 2, unfortunately it doesn't appear to work. Can I assume the URL needs to be changed for an ISY-99I? If so, please share... Chuck
  16. Michell, Being that I'm using an ISY-99i, I can't upgrade to v4.1.2 so what options does that leave me? Thanks, Chuck
  17. If you open up Java preferences and then the security tab, at the bottom you should see a place to add a URL. Simply copy and paste the URL Adress to your ISY and click on Add. You should then be all set, however like me you will still have to click on the security warning each time you log in...
  18. After updating Java today to version 7 update 51, I noticed I could no longer log into the admin console of my ISY-99i and instead received an error indicating a security issue. The only way I can work around this is to either lower the security level from medium to low (not a good solution) or add the URL to the trusted list, however using the latter method causes a prompt each time I log in with a security warning and a box that must be checked in order to continue. Has anyone else run into this and is their a better way to solve this problem?
  19. I've read a lot about the network/WOL modules and would like to add them to my ISY-99i Pro, however I'm just not clear if this is a software add-on or a hardware module. I also can't seem to find a way to purchase it. When I click on "Help", then "Purchase Modules", it says "No modules installed for this product. No additional modules available." Am I missing something?
  20. That's what I was afraid of. I'd hate to have to update my ISY just for this module...
  21. I've been having communication issues with an ApplianceLinc module and was considering upgrading to the new Insteon On/Off dual band module but want to be sure it is compatible with an ISY-99i before I purchase... Thank you.
  22. Thanks Michel for your information, it is very helpful.
  23. Hello, I'm considering upgrading from an ISY-99i to an ISY-994i. That said, I have a few questions: * Can I use my existing power supply from my ISY-99i to power the ISY-994i as my existing power supply is hard to get to? * Can I restore my backup from my ISY-99i to the ISY-994i and if so would there be any extensive reconfiguration involved - i.e. recreating links, scenes, etc? * Is the ISY-994i available with an onboard Zwave controller? With kind regards, Chuck
  24. Thanks for the reply. I remember reading about the program your referring to allowing one to log into a computer using an iPhone as a proximity sensor but couldn't remember where I saw it so we're thinking along the same lines. I was also a bit concerned about the range of the Bluetooth and now you have confirmed those concerns. Perhaps it's more trouble than it's worth, I just thought it would be a neat timesaver. Please keep me posted on your progress.
