  1. That looks like the route to go. The amp that powers the speakers has a standby mode that is triggered by the Sonos unit. I can use the controller you reference above to monitor the state of the amp and then trigger an outlet linc to turn on the subwoofer. Thanks!
  2. Guys - I have a wireless Polk Audio subwoofer connected to my Sonos system. With my wired subwoofers I can put them into "Auto" mode so they turn on automatically when they sense signal and off when the signal turns off. The wireless version does not support this so I have to turn it on/off manually when I turn on/off Sonos. Is there a way for me to turn the subwoofer on/off automatically via an insteon outlet that is linked via the ISY to Sonos? Thanks.
  3. LeeG - you nailed it. I manually invoked the If statements and the Program Status corrected. Thanks much for explaining. This is helpful b/c I'm writing a house light timer program that will start at the earlier of sunset or 6 PM. To the extent sunset precedes 6 PM, I of course didn't want the program to re-run at 6 PM, so I added a condition (And statement) to only run if Status is False. At the end of the Then statement (6 hours later) I run the If statement which will presumably set the Program Status back to False from True and get the program ready for the next day.
  4. I think I may have confused the question, apologies. What seems to be schizophrenic is program Status. I can't figure out why some programs' Status are indicated as "True" and some are "False". This is happening with two identical programs controlling two separate closet lights. All the If statement is doing in these prgromas is looking to see if the specific scene is On (i.e. looking for a change in status of the device). I also have another program that is time based (i.e. the If statement is Time = 9 AM) and it is showing True even though its 1 PM. Shouldn't it flip to False? Same deal with the Query All program. It's scheduled to Run at 3 AM and is currently showing True.
  5. I don't think that it. I have another set of identical programs that shut off closet lights if left on. Both of those devices are Off, yet one of the programs is True and the other False. Unless of course I have some issue with my PLM that is causing this.
  6. I am attempting to write a new program and am confused over how Program Status works and what triggers it. I must be missing something. For example, I have two garage doors each with a sensor attached. I have an identical program on each that fires off a notification to me if either door is closed (i.e. if the Status of the sensor is "Off"). Both garages are currently closed and the sensor reads "off" in the dashboard. In the Summary tab one of the garage notifications program's Status reads "True" and the other reads "False". I've opened and shut each and Status doesn't change.

    994i Dying?

will do. Suspect time will tell as it sounds like it has to do with repetitive use of Mobilinc and things not clearing out on the ISY and then freezing it. so far so good. That's my interpretation, but recognize i'm not super technical.

    994i Dying?

Submitted the ticket and heard back immediately. Here's what they said. BTW, what great support! I am so very sorry to hear. If you are using MobiLinc and specifically Apple Watch, the issue is that MobiLinc does not close sockets consistently. This has been identified and we put a solution that forcefully closes these sockets in 4.4.2. Please do be kind enough to: 1. Clear your Error Log 2. Install 4.4.2 (which is very stable): http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/17732-release-442-beta-is-now-available/ Let us know if you still have the same issues. 994i Dying?

Confirmed that my firmware and UI are both 4.3.26. PLM Link count 445. Checked log and nothing out of the ordinary seemed to be going on when things crashed. Confirmed computer, router, port forwarding all good and working. Will submit error log. Thx.

    994i Dying?

PLM is about a year old. I have spare sitting on the counter next to it for all the reasons we know... The reason I think it is my ISY is I tried to access it via its IP address via my computer and no luck )i.e. accessing it directly, not thru PLM). Just got home and rebooted and its working fine now. Also rebooted the PLM so too late to rule that out.

    994i Dying?

My ISY 994i has frozen up (won't run programs and failes to communicate with my computer via IP Address). If I unplug it and the PLM and then re-plug in, seems to work fine. First time was week or so ago and tehn again today. Is the ISY dying?
  12. I have a scene that is controlled by two toggle lincs (each are set as controller/responders). All works well if I turn the switches on/off locally. If I go into the ISY or through MobilLinc and turn a switch on individually (vs. turning on the scene), it does not control the other switch. If it's the load switch, it will turn on the scene/light. If its the non-load switch it won't. What gives? Here again, the toggle lincs are in the scence as controller/responders and all works fine locally if the switches turned on/off or if the scene is turned on/off through the ISY or MobilLinc.
  13. LeeG - I am at work and remoted in. I see exactly what you are saying. The kitchen light devices where set to 100% within the KeyPadLInc. I adjusted the KeyPad (actually just copied the scene attributes). I'll have to wait till I get home and see if things work from the KeyPad, but I suspect they will. Thanks.
  14. I created a scene called "mood lighting" for my kitchen that turns on several devices controlling indirect lights and hanging pendants. Included in the scene are the devices that control several banks of recessed lights as well as the light over the table. Within the scence I have set the on level on the recessed lights and the table light to 0% and the one level of the indirects and pendants to 100%. When I turn the scence on or off from the ISY UI, it works perfectly. Specifically, the recessed lights and kitchen table light turn off and the indirects and pendants turn on (or stay on if already on). The issue I am having is that I have a 6 key KeyPad Linc in the kitchen and I set up D key to control the mood lighting scene. When I attempt to turn the scene on from the KeyPadLinc everything except the kitchen table light works. In other words, if the table light is off and I turn on the mood lighting scene from the KeyPadLinc, the table light will come on with the indirects and pendants. The recessed lights turn off as they are to do. I have removed the kitchn table light from the scene and then re-added it, but the problem persists. Thoughts?
  15. I added the RC Snubbers on Monday and since then no more problems with the fans.
  16. I did some research and via the Insteon Forum it appears I need R-C Snubbers to ameliorate a voltage spike that occurs when an electric motor is turned off (something to do with Faraday's Law, but I'm a finance guy). Anyway, I ordered the things, which appareantly wire between the line and neutral in parallel at the fan and that should fix things. I'll post after I put them in.

    2441ZTH

I just checked the ISY's log and the thermostat is dutifully updating the humidity status every minute and the program I wrote then sets the IO Linc to the proper setting. Aside from creating a massive amount of entries in the log, is this ok vis a vis the traffic it creates on the network and also the impact of turning the IO Linc on or off every minute? Will it prematurely wear out physical components (e.g. the relay in the IO Linc)?

    2441ZTH

Thanks. After my original post I went back in and did a factory reset on the thermostat and IO Linc and started over. I then set up a program on the ISY using a humidity threshold as the trip point to turn on the IO Linc (which in turn controls the humidifier). It seems to be running great, holding humidity spot on where I want it. So, all is well but for the fact that I order two of the thermostats (I have two zones in my house) and the second one's external power circuit does not appear to be working. So, I'll return. Take care.

    2441ZTH

I received my 2441ZTH wireless thermostat and 6v external power supply today but am having problems linking it and using it the way I intend. What I would like to do is simply use it to monitor the humidity in my house and, if the humidity dips below the set point, trigger an IO Linc in my furnace room that in turn triggers my humidifier to turn on. The current humidistat is on the cold air return on the furnace and does not properly control the house's humidity. The IO Linc in isolation is working fine. I can turn it on and off via the ISY and the humidifier turns on and off. I set up the 2441ZTH (including adding the 6v power supply) and linked it to the ISY. Three separate devices show up on the ISY: Cool, Heat and Main. The Main device shows the current temperature and humidity. There does not appear to be any way to make changes to the 2441ZTH via the ISY. Changes appear to need to made locally on the device. To that end, I set the low set point for the humidity at 40% (the current humidity in the house is 30%) and I set the activation delay at the minimum of 2 minutes. I then followed the instructions to link the low humidity trigger (Scene 4 on the 2441ZTH) as a controller to the IO Linc. I did this manually by putting the 2441ZTH in pairing mode and then pairing it with the IO Linc. The IO Linc does not show that it is a responder to the 2441ZTH though. And, when I change the humidity set points the IO Linc does not respond. Any thoughts?
  20. I will check. Thanks.
  21. I have two ToggleLinc Relays in a bathroom that are controller/responders to "Bathroom Fan" scene. One of the ToggleLincs is connected to the load. They are each on different circuits (not sure if on different legs). Intermittently the fan fails to respond to the ToggleLincs. For example, last night I turned on the non-load ToggleLinc and the Load ToggleLinc turned on, but the fan did not. I then tried the load ToggleLinc and no luck either. I cycled the breakers off/on for both circuits and everything then worked fine. I checked the log and it indicates that both ToggleLincs were switched on, even though the fan did not come on. Thoughts?

    New Folder

thanks. Right clicking on "Network" does not bring anything up. But, I did find the "new folder" icon in the toolbar. Thanks again.

    New Folder

For some reason, I can't figure out how to create new folder in my scene tree. If I right click on "My Lighting", there is no option to create a new folder. If I go into an existing folder though, and right click, there is an option for "New Folder". thoughts?
  24. Yep, I should be ok! thanks.
  25. Is there a maximum number of times devices can be factory restored and re-linked?
