  1. I have set up a couple of vacation timer programs and placed them in a folder called "Timers". Is there a way to put a specific date range in the folder If statement so the programs in the folder run during that date range? I can't seem to figure it out.

    Run At Startup

Thanks Lee. On the first point, it will only trigger at Sunrise if the "run at startup" option is enable, correct?

    Run At Startup

Follow up question to my previous post. Do you actually set a program to "Run at Startup" in the Then statement or do you select it in the "Run at Startup" column in the Summary tab? Are both approaches the same?

    Run At Startup

Not sure I'm following. Let's say I have a program called "Entry Lights" that turns on a set of exterior entry lights at sunset and off the following morning at sunrise. If the power goes off at 1 AM and then back on at 2 AM, what will happen to the program?
  5. I moved the PLM to an isolated circuit and ran the program a few times - it worked perfectly. I think I'm set. Great advice -thanks!!
  6. I have the ISY plugged into the same outlet as a surge protector (which I have my modem and other computer gear plugged into. Should I move it to another circuit that doesn't have any surge protection plugged in?
  7. Set the program up using LeeG's recommondatin and it's almost working perfectly. I have seven scenes in the program, coming on and off sequentially. Two of the scenes don't respond 100% of the time. I disabled all programs and ran teh scene diagnostics on both and they both returned a "suceeded" response. Thoughts?
  8. Got it! You guys are great. Thx.
  9. I'm trying to write a program that will start a series of scences turning on an off, to simulate activity in the house when we're away. For example, at 5:30 PM turn on the kitchen light for 45 minutes. 5 minutes before the kitchen light turns off, turn on the light in the family room, etc. Can I do all of this in one program? IF so, can someone please explain?
  10. My ISY 99 and PLM arrived today. Looking forward to playing with it after I get the kids to bed. I reviewed the wiki, but have some basic questions. I currently have about 60 devices, which I run with a 2412 SmartLinc. My first step will be to link my existing devices to the ISY, then replicate the scenes. Question - I have a spreadsheet with details on all my Insteon devices (where they are, what they're linked to, Insteon address, etc). Can I simply enter the Insteon address in to the ISY or do I actually need to walk around and manually link? Several of my devices are in junction boxes, so would like to avoid. I would like to also maintain the existing linkages between the devices, but should I erase the linkages and start over?
  11. My name is John and I'm an Insteon-aholic. I've probably got somewhere near 60 devices in my house and was itching for more control and today decided to step up to the ISY-99 Pro from the SmartLinc 2412N. Ordered it today - it comes with a serial dual bank PLM. What I was looking for was (i) ability to add multiple timed on/off sequences to scenes (ii) better way to track devices (both their address and location) - I use an excel spreadsheet now and (iii) wanted to be able to remotely link/unlink devices. I think the ISY provides all of this (and more). So, my question is, how difficult will it be for me convert over to the ISY? Also, how exactly does the PLM work/interface with the ISY-99? The instructions say I need to use a serial cable and connect it to my PC. Why's that? Why can't I just attached it to the ISY and access the ISY thorugh my PC? Any other tips on conversting from the 2412 to the ISY?
