  1. Yes! My RemoteLinc is in 8-scene non-toggle mode. I've had the RemoteLinc for years with all the scenes setup as follows. Button A will control a scene that turns lights on Button B will control a scene to turn the lights off. Same for for C/D. But, E and F control scenes that used to use the IRLinc to blast commands to my in-windows Air conditioner telling it to turn the AC temp down (button E) or AC temp up (button F). For whatever reason, at the time, this made a lot of sense. Then G is a scene that locks the doors and turns off all the lights. H is a scene that just unlocks the front door and turns on the foyer lights.
  2. @oberkc I know the feeling. I am quite tired as well. My remotelinc is eight scene. I have one button set to control a scene that turns the light (A) on and another set to control a scene that turns the light (A) off. I wish there were some clear examples somewhere that would help me understand how to setup more complex cases.
  3. I am having trouble configuring a KPL in toggle mode the following scenario with one ceiling light and two other devices that are meant to control it. - (A) SwitchLinc on wall direct wired to light - (B) RemoteLinc - two buttons ~ one set make (A) go on through a scene "ON (A)" and the other set to make (A) go off through a scene "OFF (A)" - (C) KPL - one button in toggle mode needing to control on/off of (A) The KPL is a controller and responded of "ON (A)". and a responder to "OFF (A)" Setting it up like these seemed to fix some sync issues I had when using the remotelinc then the KPL. But when I use the SwitchLinc, it feels like the KPL is out of sync. Sometimes it take multiple presses to get the desired action. I've added a new scene called "(A) HELPER FOR TOGGLE" and added (A) and the KPL to it. These seems to have fixed the issue. Is this all I needed to do to fix it? If so, can someone please explain why it works?
  4. Read and followed all the steps. All upgraded successfully! Thanks @paulbates and @hart2hart
  5. Adding the Z-wave module appears to be more involved than I would have thought. I am currently on firmware v4.7.3. The newer z-wave modules require v5.0.13 or higher. So, I feel i should upgrade to the latest v5.0.15A. Please help me to clarify the process. I only have insteon devices and the netwerok modules driving a GC100-06 A) Can i upgrade directly to 5.0.15A or do i need to install another 5.0.x release first? B) I see many people suggesting I disable all wireless battery devices and programs first before upgrade / save all text from programs to a word doc. Sorry to ask so much but here are the steps I was planning to take please let me know if i should remove or add any open current admin console backup current isy disable all wireless battery devices disable and backup all programs download 5.0.15a Help > manually upgrade ISY Select 5.0.15a files Thanks!
  6. If ISY is not ported to Polisys then its like having an iPhone that does not make phone calls. no? also, we are so way way off topic. You all are the best, so very happy to be on or off topic./
  7. I am very happy and excited to make the jump to more powerful hardware as a replacement not an addition to my ISY994i. I will most certainly purchase it at that time!
  8. I'm still a bit confused. My question is: will this replace my ISY994i? If not now, in the future? I will still be using insteon lights and zwave door locks.
  9. At the time, I have no plan to add devices from hue, harmony, etc.... I guess the best plan is to get the Zwave expansion card!
  10. Why would i want PolISY over ISY994? Is it essentially a new version? or an expansion/companion to the ISY944?
  11. I did not know you could just add the board.... Has there been improvements to the ISY994 since i bought it 7 years ago? I mean to say is their newer hardware that may by more reliable? I am not opposed to getting a whole new unit if it is more reliable...I've been running my unit 24/7 for 7 years
  12. Can I swap my current ISY PRO for the ISY Pro IR with Zwave? I need to add Zwave functionality. I was thinking to do a backup and then restore on the new device....but Will i lose/need to re-purchase my network module? My whole reason is to use the Shlage Connect which i now see is ZWave plus not zWave. Hope thats not a problem
  13. OK. I think i fixed it. The power supply was not working. Replaced with another i had that is 5v and 1 a When I looked very closely (very hard to see) it looked like the power light was actually flickering. Hope this helps someone in the future. Anyone have a suggestion for a very high quality power supply??? These dinky ones are less than ideal
  14. Thank you for your suggestions. 1) The ISY has a static IP. Currently the router (DHCP server) does not see the ISY. 2) I should be on version 4.3.26. Not sure how to identify UI. 3) ISY finder does not find any device When I try to do a hard reset following instructions " Use a sharp object to push in the Reset Button till the RX, TX, Mem, Error lights start blinking (every second) Hold for at least 30 seconds until all of the the RX, TX, Mem, Error lights turn off and Mem light starts flashing quickly Release and wait for system reboot (reboot is complete when Mem light stops flashing) " --- none of the lights flicker after holding for 1 min. Thank you.
  15. Hello! I have had an ISY994i/IR PRO working flawlessly for 7, or so, years. Today, out of the blue, it is unreachable via all apps, admin console, even pinging the IP. I tired unplugging/replugging. I tried using a pin in the front to reset. No luck. The power light is on...but that is it. None of the other lights. Did my unit burn out? Is it too old? Is there some other way to try and reset it? I have a backup, so happy to wipe the unit if need be.
  16. I did use the same name for the device and fortunately the programs still run. I would be curious as to the process for find/replace? Is it self explanatory or are there some subtleties i should be aware of if in the future I need to do this.
  17. Delete and re-add/reprogram fixed it! it was a bunch of work but now backups work which is good.
  18. So is consensus that I need to delete the device and try to re-add it?
  19. Excellent question. YES, that is the address. I had not noticed.
  20. When I attempt to backup the ISY994i/IR Pro (111), I receive the following error: "Could Not Create the Zip File." Then a second error: "Could Not Retrieve File /CONF/136088.REC" The system works fine....however I noticed that when I try to "Restore Device" for one of my SwitchLinc Dummers v.37, I get a similar (if not the same) error: "Could Not Retrieve File /CONF/136088.REC"
  21. I upgraded my ISY to version firmware v.4.3.26 and moved the ISY/PLM to a different wall socket. Deleted the RemoveLinc2's. Factory reset the RemoteLinc2's. Added them to ISY. Rebuilt the actions......ALL IS GOOD NOW! I took a break from this issue a long time ago but had the motivation to fix it all this weekend. Thought I would report back
  22. When I try to update a remotelinc2 that has a scene in common with another remotelinc2, it says they remotelinc cannot be found (becuase I have not put it in learning mode I assume). However when i try to put both remotelinc2s in learning mode they just beep and go back to normal standby mode.
  23. Ugh, It seems like a bunch of the lights are now not linked correctly. I wish there were some easy way to remove everything and have the ISY write back all of the data to the devices.
  24. So the remove and re-add worked.... Any tips on how to get the remotelinc2s a kick in the pants so they actually work again? Once I get that I'm set (and you have saved me sooooo much time)
  25. Paulbates thank you for the quick response. Update: the scene now works but does not open the door. 1. The morninglinc does not work outside of the scene either. It does however work if you push the button on the side of the phyical box 2. understood will try (1) first remove then re-add
