Hi all, I have a question... I have 4 Sonos speakers. I was wondering if it was possible somehow to pass the IP address as a variable to the network resource as I call it? It would be easier than having 4 different complete sets of resources. Thanks W

Hi all, I installed everything and got it working today. It has no issue at all with the lights, but I can't get the Echo to discover the Thermostats. I have them in the portal, but they don't discover? I am using the Insteon Smarthome branded Thermostats if that matters. EDIT: I see others saying this doesn't work, but it seems like it was meant to, is this just a beta thing? It even gives this as an example in the skill?
-
How the heck did I not know that, congrats!
-
I agree. The skill is a direction I would rather not go. I am thinking I may use both. For the 10 or so items I use all the time, I will use the BWS emulator, and for the more obscure stuff I will use the skill (once one is working that hopefully does not require the UD service which I do not currently use. I will hit up the Mi Casa forums and see if I can work this out there. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Now back to your regularly scheduled discussion that is ISY specific.

I have finally read this entire topic... I was using the original version and it was working great for both the Echo as well as my Harmony. For some reason I can't figure out, it completely stopped working. Nothing sees it anymore (It feels like a UPNP problem, but I am not 100% sure). In any case, I tried the newer BWS version .4.4, and that works, but now the Harmony doesn't work anymore. I can't seem to find any information out about it, or to see if there is anything I need to do in order to get the Harmony support to work. I know this is off topic, but I can't find anyplace else to ask this, so I thought I would ask here.

994i or 994 ZS firmware? Hello, I have a 994 with the Zigbee module in it. I assume that makes it a 994iZ(s)? I have been using the regular 994 software, but I suspect I should be using the Z firmware. Can someone tell me what the correct version to use would be in this case? Thanks, Wayne

Hi smileyw, Please send your mailing address to sales at universal-devices.com and we will send you an adapter. Will do. Thank you very much!

So it says all over the place that if you switch from the older PLM to the new dual band PLM you need the 1223PS to power the ISY. Fine, so, I order it with the new PLM. But, the plug doesn't physically fit into the ISY? I have a 2.5(ish) year old ISY99IR/Pro in case that matters. What do I do now? It will cost me more to return this thing to Smarthome than the part costs, and on top of that, I still don't have a power supply. Did I do something wrong? Should I force the thing on there? It seems like it barely doesn't fit. If this doesn't work, what are the parameters of the actual plug, and what amperage is best? I saw Monoprice has a 12v 2.1x5.5 plug, in .5amps an 1 amp. I think that is the correct physical size (or is it)? If that is the right physical size, do I use the .5amp or 1 amp version? I think the .5amp should be plenty to power the ISY, but I would rather be sure before I buy yet another adapter. (At least that one is less than $3...) Any help would be great! W

So this sort of works, but the "It is Raining" doesn't ever seem to go to false. In fact, if I just run the "else" of that program manually, it still doesn't go to false. Is there something I need to do in the else to make it go false? W

Tim's answer is more relevant to "Once a Day", which was your original question. A gold star to Tim today! Not really, becuase the Weather resets at midnight back to zero, so it essentially is the same thing. Its raining here today, so we will see if it works.
-
Even more elegant Actually, this is has all been really helpful to teach me how to do programming on the ISY.
-
Wouldn't I need to reset the flag at midnight somehow?

I have a "raining" program that e-mails me if it is raning at the house using the weather module. The problem is that the program keep alerting me constantly. I want it to just do it once a day. I tell it to stop the program, but it is obviously restarting, and I don't know why. I am obviously missing something here, but I don't quite understand what it is... It is a simple program, and it is listed below: If From 12:10:00AM For 23 hours 45 minutes and 59 seconds And Module 'Climate' Rain Today > 0 " Then Send Notification to 'e-mail' Stop program 'Raining' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

I want to write a simple program that would e-mail me if the garage door is open for more than say 15 minutes or something. I have a IOlinc running, so I can see the status change from closed to open, but how do I then tell it to wait 15 minutes, and if the door is still open, then send an e-mail? I can figure everything out except how to add another if/then after waiting 15 minutes. I suspect this is simple, so hopefully someone can quickly help? Thanks, W

Happy New Year Smileyw! Yes there is. You must add the thermostat adapter by using the Start Linking pull down item under the Link Management tab. Use the set button on the tstat adapter and follow the on-screen instructions. Joe That did it W
-
Hi all, Upgraded to 2.7.8 alpha, and the tstat is not auto updating. Is there anything special I need to do? EDIT: I have a v91(aka 2.0) tstat adapter.
-
I wonder if that is a version that is "going to come out". As I said, I literally went to the SH store, and they pulled a brand new one, and it was .36. I will wait until after x-mas and try switching it out again. In either case, I am having the same problem others are having not being able to set the momentary duration correctly. W
-
I got the 2.0 version. It says 2.0 on the back, and the version (according to the ISY) is .91. The ISY was able to tell it was a Tstat, but I haven't been able to test anything else yet. I am waiting for the temp in the house to change and see if the ISY will be aware of that change. Frankly I don't know if the ISY software will know what to do with that change when it is reported. I will let you all know. (I have disabled my tstat query BTW.) W EDIT: It looks like the ISY ignores the changes as they come from the tstat. (Or maybe the ISY tells it not to send them somehow?) In any case, I still need to query the tstat. We will have to ask the guys at UD to do some re-coding to resolve this.
-
Michel, Are you sure you need .39? I just got a replacement from SH a few minutes ago, and it is .36. My old one was .34. I can say for the fist time it is saving settings if I remove power from it, and that is a good thing
-
So yours is over 90 days old? Yea, probably about 6 months or so.
-
Here is a silly question... In the 2.7.7 test version, is the version number still 2.7.6? I am seeing that, but at the same time I am seeing some of the 2.7.7 features in the UI. Am I doing something wrong?
-
I have confirmed that it will cost "net" $20, but they are out of stock. When it showed in stock it was for the old 1.x version. They have since moved it to out of stock. They hoped they would have them tomorrow, but were unsure. So, I still have my 1.3 version for at least a few more days.
-
So much the better! I live near SH, so I will go down there tomorrow and swap it out.
-
From the SH site: Rev. 2 New Features Reports changes in temp, temp setpoints, mode, and fan mode Controller functionality on heat call, cool call, and fan call (auto & manual ON) Supports +1, -1 degree on incremental bright/dim commands Off Button functionality - If you want a link to respond to an Off command instead of an On command, send an Off command from the INSTEON controller within 30 seconds of linking and before any other INSTEON commands are sent. Also, they are offering a deal until Jan 20th where you can trade in the 1.0 for the 2.0 for $20.
-
I am going to go over there tomorrow and swap out the 1.0 for the 2.0. i will let you know how it goes. I am really excited about not having to query the tstat anymore! Hopefully the UD guys will be able to get that new code into the software quickly! W
