Funny, I guess the UD guys heard this thread, but didn't say anything... I just saw that in 2.7.7 you can set the IO linc in 1/10's of seconds Thanks!!! W
-
That statement in the Wiki reads strangely to me. I would reach out to Smarthome for confirmation, smileyw. 0.2 hours is 12 minutes. It doesn't make sense that Homeseer would be limited to 12-108 minutes (1.8 hours) when the device itself supports a range below that. Perhaps it's a typo? Edit: I'm suggesting that the range is in fact 0.2 seconds to 1.8 hours. You know, I read that as seconds not hours. I wonder what they are talking about? I will try again to wire the opener up and see what happens. I got a replacement 2450 to fix a problem where it doesn't store all the settings after power outage, but the new one is now better since they are the same firmware. I will have to go back to SH again and make sure they give me the newest (v34) firmware.
-
Since it looks like 2 seconds is the lowest the current software can do, can this be fixed? The SH website seems to imply that systems like the ISY can set it down toe .2 seconds, which should be fine.
-
Yea, that is exactly what I saw, but according to SH, it is possible to set it lower with something like the ISY. Hopefully there is a way to do it...

Hi all, I am trying to get the SH Garage door kit to run my garage door opener. I think the problem is that the 2 second momentary output is too long. The SH wiki implies that products like ISY can set it as low as .2 seconds instead (see http://wiki.smarthome.com/index.php?title=Setting_the_I/O_Linc_Momentary_Duration) Does anyone know how to do this with the ISY? If it matters, I have an ISY99IR pro. W

It is on and off on mine... (there is a setting for that as well as an extra key cap that says on/off). I am sure it is the manual someplace if you want to look it up. I wonder if that is why I am seeing this problem, and other are not? W

Okay, I will give it a try tonight. I really only need one of those two scenes anyway...
-
Okay, we are getting closer. Next question, why does the the scene lights up the "A" button on the KPL timer (which is 2 minutes IIRC) instead of H which is on/off? The problem with that of course is that it does indeed turn the device off after 2 minutes when I intened to just turn it on with the scene... W
-
I guess you lost me. I currently have a scene setup like this: Load of KPL timer and "H" on other KPL. Isn't that what you are asking me to do? W
-
I guess I could write a quick program that would run 31 minutes later to check the status and turn off KPL controller if it is still on, right? W
-
No, I only have two time based programs, and the other one is sunset + 20 minutes. That is a very simple program, so I don't know what I am doing wrong? W

Can someone explain something to me (remember, I am an ISY newbie...) I am trying to turn some lights off before sunrise. However, the program doesn't work the way I would expect it to. When I do this (set to run everyday): If Time is Sunrise - 1 hour Then Set Scene 'Second floor hallway' Off Set 'Kids Hall can lights' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Nothing happens. But, when I it this way it does. Do I really need to have a start and stop time to it for this to do anything? If so, why? (I would like to understand the logic here so I don't have problems in the future.) If From Sunrise - 1 hour For 1 second Then Set Scene 'Second floor hallway' Off Set 'Kids Hall can lights' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

So I haven't had any time to work on this lately, but I picked it up again last night. Here is where I am... I want to create a program that turns the load on the KPL on for 30 minutes when I double press (fast on) a button on another KPL. Ideally I would like to just trigger the 30 minute button on the KPL timer. (Though from the discussion above, it looks like that isn't possible.) I can't seem to get the program to effect anything other than the load on the KPL timer. (Unless I am doing something wrong?) So, I figured I could write a program to turn it on, wait 30 minutes, and turn it back off. I wrote a program to do this. However, it doesn't exactly work. When I tell the program to turn on the KPL timer, it does, but I see that the "2 minute" button lights up (button A). Then the load turns off after 2 minutes (instead of 30). I think this might be a bug in the way the KPL timer is handled inside the ISY.... The actual "on/off" on the kPL timer is H. I believe the program is correct because when I change the wait from 30 minutes to 1 minute, it works just fine. It is also worth noting that the scene below is simply the KPL timer and the "H" key on the KPL in the other room. It has the same problem where it turns on and off the "A" button instead of the "H" button on the KPL timer. Here is the program: If Control 'BDM Reading Light.H' is switched Fast On Then Set Scene 'BD3 Reading Light' On Wait 30 minutes Set Scene 'BD3 Reading Light' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

Why can't this work in a way similar to other HA products out there (i.e. homeseer) where if it is a local IP address, it will allow automatic login, and if the source is off the local subnet, you need to enter credentials. Obviously this would be a user selectable setting, but it is certainly easy to program (look at incoming HTTP header), and it would probably fix it for almost all people asking for this. Using it in its current form is a problem in my house...\ W

In a word, AWSOME!

That is great to hear! W

I have to agree with David, This is the one thing the ISY is missing. Interface2go is fine, but lets face it there are far more Ipod Touch/Iphone's and WinMo devices running around than Nokias... If I could pick up my phone and do things, it would be very very useful. W

Release 2.6.15 (RC1) is now available
smileyw replied to Michel Kohanim's topic in Previous Releases
That did it. Thank you. I am not quite sure why that worked though... I get that I used your ISY (or virtual) to get the java app running, but when I went to upgrade, how did it know exactly where my ISY was? Did it do a broadcast on my local subnet to find it? I am just curious... W -

Hi all, I tried to upgrade (from 2.6.14), and I kept getting file length errors (as others have said). Sometimes it would get farther, but it never finished. I made what I now know was a big mistake by closing the console and trying again. Now when I try to open the console, I get the Java error below. I assume I am someplace in the upgrade, but I don't know how to copy the files back to the device... This is the java error: Java Plug-in 1.6.0_11 Using JRE version 1.6.0_11 Java HotSpot Client VM User home directory = C:\Users\testuser ---------------------------------------------------- c: clear console window f: finalize objects on finalization queue g: garbage collect h: display this help message l: dump classloader list m: print memory usage o: trigger logging q: hide console r: reload policy configuration s: dump system and deployment properties t: dump thread list v: dump thread stack x: clear classloader cache 0-5: set trace level to ---------------------------------------------------- load: class com.universaldevices.client.ui.UDClientApplet.class not found. java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.universaldevices.client.ui.UDClientApplet.class at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2ClassLoader.loadCode(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager.createApplet(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager$AppletExecutionRunnable.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Caused by: java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed:http://lights.player.home/com/universaldevices/client/ui/UDClientApplet/class.class at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.getBytes(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.access$000(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) ... 7 more Exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.universaldevices.client.ui.UDClientApplet.class Any ideas on how to get back? I was thinking of a factory, but I am not sure if that will do anything or not, and I don't want to make anything worse... W -
I had assumed this, but is that "A" on the timer, or "H"? I don't exactly get it. I would have assumed it is A (like the regular KPL), but A didn't work when I tested it. I don't think linking to H worked either... I know this seems simple, but for some odd reason it isn't...

Hi all, I am trying to setup a link between a KPL timer and another KPL. Essentially I want to treat the KPL timer just like a dimmer by programing one of the buttons on the regular KPL to control the timer and also have the LED on the regular KPL let me know when the timer load is on and off. Obviously this is VERY simple if the timer wasn't involved. To that end, I tried to create a scene in the ISY where I used the "A" button on the KPL timer and a button on the KPL. This didn't work. I am assuming I need to do something different because it is a timer. Does anyone know what I need to do?

Is it crazy to poll it every few minutes to keep the status going? Also, if someone makes changes on the stat manually, will it notify the ISY?
-
Here is a question, can the ISY keep track of the temp in the house and log it? I used to do this with Homeseer and the old RCS X10 Tstats. I seem to recall that the Venstar/Insteon will not report back changes on its own, is that still the case?
