How can I change the type of device? Should I? Thanks. -Rick
-
When you say "Manually change"- I think that's what I did. First I swapped the button plate. Then before programming it in the system I temporarily attached a power cord to the black & white wires and then held down the "A" and "H" buttons while plugging it in. After a few seconds it beeped and all 8 buttons worked. Then I added it to my system. I did it the same way for two others and they are correctly showing up as being 8 buttons. -Rick

I recently bought a 6- button 2334-232 KeypadLinc and I converted it to 8 buttons by doing the A&H key thing- the same way I have done it on others. The curious thing about this one is that it shows up in the ISY as being 5 buttons, yet all 8 buttons are working fine. Since all 8 buttons are working fine should I leave it alone? Any idea what may have caused this? Thanks! -Rick

I stopped the program that triggers a query when the device doesn't respond. Then used the event viewer on level 3. The3 symptoms were a little different then earlier today. I sent a few on and off commands to the device and it did turn the load on and off, but the status always stayed "off". I did not get any "Cannot communicate" errors during this capture: Sun 11/10/2013 07:06:54 PM : [iNST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 07 CD 42 0F 11 FF Sun 11/10/2013 07:06:54 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 07.CD.42 0F 11 FF 06 LTONRR (FF) Sun 11/10/2013 07:06:55 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 07.CD.42 1E.49.6C A7 11 FE LTONRR (FE) Sun 11/10/2013 07:06:55 PM : [std-Direct Nack] 07.CD.42-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Sun 11/10/2013 07:07:09 PM : [iNST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 07 CD 42 0F 13 00 Sun 11/10/2013 07:07:09 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 07.CD.42 0F 13 00 06 LTOFFRR(00) Sun 11/10/2013 07:07:09 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 07.CD.42 1E.49.6C A3 13 FE LTOFFRR(FE) Sun 11/10/2013 07:07:09 PM : [std-Direct Nack] 07.CD.42-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=0 Sun 11/10/2013 07:07:24 PM : [iNST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 07 CD 42 0F 11 FF Sun 11/10/2013 07:07:24 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 07.CD.42 0F 11 FF 06 LTONRR (FF) Sun 11/10/2013 07:07:25 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 07.CD.42 1E.49.6C A7 11 FE LTONRR (FE) Sun 11/10/2013 07:07:25 PM : [std-Direct Nack] 07.CD.42-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 I tried it a few minutes later and I did get a "Cannot communicate" error: Sun 11/10/2013 07:15:06 PM : [iNST-TX-I1 ] 02 62 07 CD 42 0F 11 FF Sun 11/10/2013 07:15:06 PM : [iNST-ACK ] 02 62 07.CD.42 0F 11 FF 06 LTONRR (FF) Sun 11/10/2013 07:15:06 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 07.CD.42 1E.49.6C A7 11 FE LTONRR (FE) Sun 11/10/2013 07:15:06 PM : [std-Direct Nack] 07.CD.42-->ISY/PLM Group=0, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Sun 11/10/2013 07:15:06 PM : [ 7 CD 42 1] ERR 1 By the way, all of the newer ApplianceLinc's are working first time, every time, with no errors. It seems to be only the older devices that are having trouble. Can one of you experts help me understand what this is telling me? Thanks! -Rick

Hi Brian- It seems to be almost every time I send a command to them. I just tried sending 25 commands in a row, and I got the error message 22 times. I tried a different V1.3 device and got similar results. Using the program I mentioned above I still see the error message on the Admin Console, but the status is correct every time now. I just started tinkering with this today, so the 3AM query has not run yet.

Update: I **think** I have found a workaround. For each of the 2456S3 V2's I have added a program like this: If Status 'Deck Light' is not Responding Then Set 'Deck Light' Query Else - No actions This seems to be working fine. Is there a better solution, though? -Rick
-
I purchased some used ApplianceLinc 2456S3's on eBay and it turns out they are the older "V2" version, revision 1.3. When I send them a command, they do switch the load on or off properly, but they are not reporting their status. When I look at the ISY Administrative Console I get the error "Cannot communicate with (7 CD 42 1). Please check connections". If I click Query, then the status is properly reported, so I know they are reporting status- it's just that the ISY is not seeing it. Maybe it's timing out too fast? Is there anything I can do to make these work properly? Thanks! -Rick

Thanks for the update. I'm very curious about the low battery indication. Please let us know if you get more information about this. -Rick

Still OK here. Have three smoke detectors linked to it. I would be curious to know if others are running OK. -Rick
-
I know that the OneLink smoke detectors are able to send their location (Living room, Basement, Master Bedroom, etc) along with the alarm, but the location information is not being received by the ISY. Is this a limitation of the Smoke Bridge or the ISY? It would be a great feature to be able to have the ISY send me an email that smoke is detected in a specific area rather than a generic alarm. -Rick

I just wanted to let everyone know that the Smoke Bridge is working fine now since I updated to 4.0.2 beta. Nice work, guys! Thanks for fixing it quickly! -Rick
-
If you need a Beta tester, count me in. I'm really eager to see this all working. -Rick

Thanks, Lee- I appreciate your thoughts on this. Do I need to do anything to call this to UDI's attention? -Rick

Thanks- Here's the event log: Sat 02/23/2013 08:23:24 PM : [ Time] 20:23:24 3(0) Sat 02/23/2013 08:24:42 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 23.4E.6B 00.00.01 C7 11 80 LTONRR (80) Sat 02/23/2013 08:24:42 PM : [std-Group ] 23.4E.6B-->Group=1, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Sat 02/23/2013 08:24:42 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 23.4E.6B 11.00.01 C7 06 00 (00) Sat 02/23/2013 08:24:42 PM : [std-Group ] 23.4E.6B-->11.00.01, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Sat 02/23/2013 08:24:53 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 23.4E.6B 00.00.01 C7 11 80 LTONRR (80) Sat 02/23/2013 08:24:53 PM : [std-Group ] 23.4E.6B-->Group=1, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 Sat 02/23/2013 08:24:53 PM : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 23.4E.6B 11.00.01 C7 06 00 (00) Sat 02/23/2013 08:24:53 PM : [std-Group ] 23.4E.6B-->11.00.01, Max Hops=3, Hops Left=1 So I take it that the ISY is seeing the messages from the smoke bridge? -Rick

I've got the same problem as jjp076. I blew some smoke into the detector. The detector went into alarm, the LED on the smoke bridge changed to red, and then nothing happened. I don't have any devices linked directly to the smoke bridge- I am using a program to switch some lights on and to send an email. The device links table for the smoke bridge looks like this: Device links table: 23.4E.6B-Smoke / 23 4E 6B 1 0 : 0FF8 : A2 00 1E.49.6C FF 1F 01 1 : 0FF0 : E2 01 1E.49.6C FF 1F 01 2 : 0FE8 : E2 02 1E.49.6C FF 1F 02 3 : 0FE0 : E2 06 1E.49.6C FF 1F 06 4 : 0FD8 : 00 00 00.00.00 00 00 00 The program that is supposed to be triggering some devices is shown in the first post in this thread. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks. -Rick

In that case it may be working fine. I'll get a can of smoke detector tester spray form the local burglar alarm supply house and give it a try. BTW- there is a small typo in your software when it refers to Carbon Monoxide. I't's CO- not CO2. If that's all I've got to complain about then things must be pretty good!!!! -Rick

I know you haven't had the opportunity to try a real Smoke Bridge yet, so I am not surprised that there seems to be a problem...but it could be a misconfiguration on my part. I have an ISY994i and am running 4.0.1 beta. I have the Smoke bridge linked to a SCO500 Smoke /CO detector and to the ISY. When I press the test button on the smoke detector the LED on the Smoke Bridge changes from solid green to blinking red, but the ISY does not respond. I have three programs- one for smoke, one for CO, and one for low battery. The smoke program looks like this: If Control 'Smoke Alarms /23.4E.6B-Smoke' is switched On Then Send notification to 'Default' content 'Smoke Detector' Set Scene 'Living room / Living room Overhead' On Set Scene 'Bedroom / Bedroom Overhead' On Else -No Actions What should happen when I press the test button on a smoke detector? What should happen if I tap the SET button on the Smoke Bridge? (nothing is happening). Any suggestions? Thanks! -Rick

I had to make one minor tweak and now it is working perfectly. I had to change If CONTROL "whatever switch you are using" is switched on Then set "outside lamp post" on to If STATUS "whatever switch you are using" is switched on Then set "outside lamp post" on I have several 8-button keypads and it was only working from the one specified in the program above, but now it works from all of them because they are all members of the same scene. ..and now all is good. Thanks very much for the suggestion on this! -Rick
-
Thanks! That makes sense. When I went to set it up, it looks like I have to do it as three programs: Lamp post timer (already exists) Lamp post on (the first half of your suggestion) Lamp post off (the second half of your suggestion) Is this correct, or is it possible to combine your "ON" program with your "off" program? ...So I've got it set up and I'll wait to see if the timer still works OK. Thanks again! -Rick

I have a scene set up that turns on all of our outside lights, which are spread across five responders of different types. Only one of these lights is controlled by a program that turns the lamp post on at sunset and off at 11PM. I would like to arrange it so that if I turn on the "all outside" scene it will turn on all of the outside lights (as it does now), but when I turn off the "all outside scene" it should leave the lamp post on if it is within the time range that it should be "on" anyway. I know it can be done. but I am new to the ISY994 and while I have got everything else working exactly as I want it, I have not figured this part out yet. Thanks for any guidance! -Rick
