Popularity of Zwave module, should my app support?
Jimbo.Automates replied to Joe Schofield's topic in ISY994
Z-Wave wave is becoming very popular. I have deadbolts, thermostats, and multi-sensors. But no iOS, Android only. -
I'm pretty sure you can set the on level to zero for the scene, just not the local on level? I do this for some motion sensor controlled scenes and it has worked for me. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

Thermostat Advice for ISY: Z-Wave? EcoBee3? Honeywell? Trane?
Jimbo.Automates replied to prairiecode's topic in ISY994
Received my Trane's today, installed two of them and working great. Only issue was I could not enroll the second one that needs to communicate thru the first one, so I hooked it up in the first ones location, enrolled it, then moved it back to its real location and heal network fixed up the routes. Not enough time tonight to check if it works as a repeater for my locks, will test that when I have time to make sure it's robust. Thanks for the tips, very happy so far. Just need to sell the never used 2441THs since SH would not exchange them since I bought them over 30 days ago... Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk -
But if it can not be defined as to how it will work in all cases, then I doubt UDI will implement a function that only makes sense in certain situations. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

Which devices will it adjust? I have kpl buttons in scenes as responders with on level of zero to show the scene that it is a controller of has been turned off. I don't want it to turn on. I don't want to take sides either, because I would also like the ISY to have extra functionality on top of insteon scenes, but it's not as simple as it seems.

Looks like another user is looking into it: http://forum.universal-devices.com/index.php?/topic/15079-Motion-Sensor-Low-Battery-Event-(or-lack-thereof) Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

Thermostat Advice for ISY: Z-Wave? EcoBee3? Honeywell? Trane?

I think I found the answer to my question in case anyone else is interested, ironically on the homeseer site from 06/05/2012: http://www.homeseer.com/pdfs/Z-Wave-Lock-Setup.pdf NOTE: All Z-Wave locks include a "beaming" technology that puts the lock into a "sleep" mode to conserve battery power. Because of this, only "beaming-compatible" devices can communicate with the lock. As of this writing, only devices with Z-Wave ZDK firmware v5.02 or v4.52 (or higher) can communicate with the locks. These devices currently include the following: HomeSeer Z-Troller (v1.15 or higher) Aeon Labs Z-Stick S2 Newest GE/Jasco Z-Wave products (look for "Schlage LiNK on packaging) Evolve Z-Wave products (all) Schlage LiNK light module Trane Z-Wave thermostat RCS TZ45 Z-Wave thermostat 2GIG Z-Wave thermostat Cooper Aspire RF 5-button Scene controller Just ordered 7 of them on Amazon, thanks everyone for the info. -
I completely agree Lee, but it would be nice to have it as an option and the user could make the tradeoff.
-
That sounds like an issue with your program that sends the sms.
-
Yes, they work for me. But the low battery seems to only be sent one time, so if that communication is lost then you will never know. There was a thread a few days ago where someone figured out how to have the MS send the actual battery and luminance level more often. Hopefully UDI will add that as an option. You should change the scene instead of the device. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

Thermostat Advice for ISY: Z-Wave? EcoBee3? Honeywell? Trane?

Looking at the example, you will need something to stop the 15 minute program from running, so add an if control Keypad B is not switched on. Then watch the programs in the Admin Console and make sure the first one stops running when the second one starts.

Right click on the programs and select copy to clipboard and paste in a post and someone can help you debug the issue.

Thanks, yes I looked through the manual and didn't see anything either. Hopefully Michel or someone at UDI can answer this. I'll look into the schlage version as well. Thanks for the reply! -
Can SMS alerts come from same number, not sequential?
Jimbo.Automates replied to Scyto's topic in ISY994
yournumber@mms.att.net Which is what the "AT&T Wireless with grouping" selects, but I've always just used email, not sure if there is an advantage to either, but I use pushbullet for my notifications so I don't use MMS anymore. -

Another question. Would you know if the mentioned rcs/trane z-wave stats will also act as z-wave repeaters for secure devices, like schlage locks? If so, that will be the final straw to return my 6 unopened 2441TH's and order the trane's from Amazon since they are just under $100 with prime shipping. Smarthome has the RCS's but only 3 of them at $150 each. -

Jimbo.Automates replied to Scyto's topic in ISY994
I'm pretty sure that number comes from your wireless service provider from their email to sms gateway. For AT&T there are two ways to send them, one uses sms which has a number like that, and the other uses mms which shows the message came from the email you use. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk -
If you unplugged the PLM with the ISY running, this will happen. You should plug in the PLM, wait a little while and plug in the ISY.

Thanks for all this info. This is making me think I should return my 6 2441TH's that I haven't had time to install yet. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk -
Yes, when you put B in scene 1 with on level of zero it will turn off B when scene 1 is active. that is how mutually exclusive scenes work. But I don't think you can do that for A in scene 2,since a has the load. I've avoided this since I usually want the ability to control the load on its own when needed.
-
And if you put KPL.B in scene 1 as a responder with level 0, then B will turn off when A is enabled.
