Yes, that was clear. The only difference with what you are doing is I use the python hue emulator, not the Java one. I have never had Alexa respond with that. Sent from my Pixel C using Tapatalk

I was using Alexa a lot today since I was debugging ISYHelper and never had that response. Worked perfectly every time. Sent from my Pixel C using Tapatalk

UDI has asked for access to the Harmony API but they have not heard back. I'm not sure if this will allow 2 way control, Currently the only way I know to control ISY devices from the harmony remotes is to run a "Hue Emulator" then add that emulator to your harmony hub. I do this with the Python based one running on a RPi, and there is another one discussed at length in this forum that uses Java so it can run on a Windows computer. Search for ISYHelper on this forum to check out my stuff. Using the ISY network module you can control harmony activities, but I have not tried that yet. Sent from my Pixel C using Tapatalk

OK, I will try to find it and pm you for your address. Can't remember if I decided to keep or toss it. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

Yes it will go between the motor control and the IOLinc. I used one on my Powermax before it was recalled and the new board is a series 2 so I don't need it anymore. I may have it somewhere and can try to find it and send it to you. Sent from my Pixel C using Tapatalk

That would work for simple cases where the ISY is near the harmony, but with multiple harmonys it's more difficult, and would require more hardware. Also not sure if this can be done with the dedicated buttons on the Elite. The WAF of the dedicated buttons is very high

The harmony elite is great, I have been using harmony remotes for a really long time, and recently upgraded one to the elite and the added convenience of controlling lights with hard buttons on this remote is awesome. I do this with my ISYHelper program running on a RPi which also allows you to see all lights on the harmony display and control and see their current level. Since doing this, our two bedside insteon remotes rarely get used. I am considering adding restful-harmony support to ISYHelper to allow Alexa to control the remote locally instead of thru IFTTT. Or for a simple way on a RPi use ISYHelper http://forum.universal-devices.com/index.php?/topic/16787-ISYHelper:-Interface-older-foscam's,-Maker-IFTTT,-Amazon-Echo,-and-more#entry157558 Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

I had requested this thread be split up a long time ago and was denied. So I split out my efforts to a separate one http://forum.universal-devices.com/index.php?/topic/16787-ISYHelper:-Interface-older-foscam's,-Maker-IFTTT,-Amazon-Echo,-and-more Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

I agree Barry, and my response was short, but what I meant is since he was saying he was a novice to all this, the first step in debugging would be to enter the url in a browser to make sure it is acceptable. Then you can debug if what you are saying is properly sent from the echo. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

IMO, the easiest way to test different urls is to enter them in your browser. Then you see exactly what the ISY replied with. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

Usually for fans you create a high, medium, and low scene with the fan motor as a responder at the appropriate level. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

The way ISYHelper handles this is when instruct Alexa to turn on or off a scene, it sends the command to the scene, when you give a brightness level, it sends that to the controller of the scene. This works well for me in all of the common cases. For example, I have "kitchen cans" which is a scene that is controlled by 2 switchlinc's. So I put the Spoken property "kitchen cans" on the switchlinc that has the load attached to it. So, when I say "turn on kitchen cans" it sends the scene on command, if I say "set kitchen cans to 50 percent" it sends the brightness command to the switchlinc device. I do it this way because I want the scene to come on when I say "turn on" so all responders react as they should, but it also allows changing brightness. I've considered having it set the brightness level of all dimmable responders, but I haven't done that yet. This works well for my usage, and I don't want to start a debate on insteon scenes and brightness That has been discussed may times on this forum

New version of ISYHelper has been released: http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/16787-isyhelper-interface-older-foscams-maker-ifttt-amazon-echo-and-more/

Sorry, I guess it only works if you have the amazon store card. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

I got it for $88 earlier today. Promo code ECHODEAL and sign up for amazon store card another $20 gift card, and 5% cash back! Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

I still like Missy http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Missy which works, and would mean My ISY. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

I know you said it shouldn't be related to ISY or Izzy, but I was thinking "Missy" for "My ISY" The #2 and 3 definitions fit well? http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Missy

Michel, hopefully changing the spoken name was one of the changes? http://forum.universal-devices.com/index.php?/topic/16949-Echo-and-Insteon-ISY-Devices?&do=findComment&comment=151719The WAF with the Alexa is awesome, and I know mine would rather say Izzy than ISY

My runs were not that long so I wasn't concerned.

I wanted to use that one but it wouldn't fit, so I used http://www.smarthome.com/seco-larm-sm-300q-wh-surface-mount-magnetic-contact-switch-normally-open.html and there is a normally closed one as well. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

I used a magnetic switch wired to an IoLinc at nearby area that was protected from weather, or you could connect the switch to a TriggerLinc. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

It looks correct to me. Occasionally when playing with scenes for a KPL I have had strange issues, so I factory reset the KPL then write the KPL again. Try that with both of them. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
